In this heart-rending and deeply inspiring episode of Warriors Unmasked, Chuck Thuss sits down with Raymond J. Brune, an Emmy Award-winning producer and former Executive Producer of Good Morning America, World News Now, and E! News Live. While Ray's career achievements are nothing short of incredible, this episode dives deeper into his personal journey, revealing decades of trauma and bullying that shaped him into the resilient person he is today. Ray's story starts with a childhood marred by relentless bullying, beginning in third grade and lasting through high school. Growing up in Catholic schools, Ray was tormented for having red hair, freckles, and his sexual orientation—things his peers picked up on before he did. But his trauma didn't end there. Ray faced severe emotional scars that haunted him for over 40 years, culminating in a CPTSD (Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) diagnosis. Despite his successes in television, Ray found himself grappling with unresolved pain that nearly derailed his life. But an unexpected discovery of using artificial intelligence to reframe his trauma helped him find peace and healing. Through art therapy and his “right brain rain,” Ray began transforming the narrative of his painful memories, moving from victim to victor. In this episode, Ray opens up about this journey, his emotional scars, and how he found a way to forgive—even those who hurt him the most. Key Takeaways from Ray's Journey: Overcoming Trauma: Ray candidly discusses how bullying impacted his childhood and mental health, from daily harassment to intense isolation. His story sheds light on the lasting effects of childhood trauma and the importance of addressing it, no matter how long it takes. The Power of Reframing: Ray shares how he stumbled upon using AI to create artwork that helped him reframe painful memories, turning the narrative around his trauma from shame to strength. This discovery was a turning point in his healing journey. Forgiveness and Healing: Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of Ray's story is his ability to forgive those who caused him pain. By forgiving his bullies and even his father, Ray found peace and began to live a lighter, more fulfilled life. The Art of Being Bullied Ray's book, The Art of Being Bullied, is a powerful exploration of his experiences and the process he went through to heal. It blends memoir, psychology, and practical advice on how anyone can reframe their own trauma. Whether through art or other methods, Ray's book offers a unique and inspiring roadmap to forgiveness and emotional freedom. You can find The Art of Being Bullied on Amazon and other platforms. For those who are struggling with trauma, bullying, or just feeling lost, Ray's story is a beacon of hope. It's a reminder that, even after decades of pain, it's possible to heal, forgive, and emerge stronger than ever. Listen to the full episode to hear Ray's courageous story and learn how you too can reframe trauma in your own life. And then how music transformed me into the woman I am today, but as I was writing about all my insecurity and lack of confidence I realized that I had a lot to say about the subject, so I just kept going.  So now it's going to be in two parts. This first part is going to be about the times when I felt insecure in the music that comforted me or the music that I related to. And then next week, I'll tell you how music played a big role in changing me into the confident woman I am today.SONGS MENTIONED...Waving Through a Window from Dear Evan HansenA Part of Your World from The Little MermaidBelle from Beauty and the BeastReflection from MulanCorner of the Sky from PippinOut Here On My Own from Fame the musicalHappy by PinkAll By Myself by Eric Carmen Support the Show.Keep listening, keep grooving, and let the music in you continue to shine. Episode Overview:  In today's episode of Girlfriends with(out) Benefits, we continue our conversation about being bullied by the Universe. After the last episode of Being Bullied by the Universe, Cassandra had a minor breakdown.  She had been feeling good; mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.  Everything seemed to be perfectly aligned, however, her body seemed to say otherwise.  Cassandra began experiencing a lot of aches and pains on the left side of her leg.  At first, it was a small issue because it was no bigger than the size of a dime, but the sensation grew stronger to the point where it felt like someone was pressing on it like a burnt cigarette.  The Universe was bullying her again.  Cassandra needed to figure out what to do and how to do it. Join us today as we discuss how Cassandra was bullied by the universe and what actually transpired. We share some laughs about the lessons Cassandra learned in business school versus the practical ways of conducting business. Links Mentioned in the episode:Join Us WeeklyWant to know more about the Retreat? Quotable Moments:“The universe slapped down my rising, yeah!” - Cassandra“We have a tendency to open up pandora's box in the work that I do and see how interconnected things are.  So what is that something and what is it connected to?” -Cassandra“How much of my identity is wrapped up in that something?” -Cassandra“Again, we cannot reason with the universe like she doesn't care”  -Kaylin

The title of this episode is, "Bullies and Being Bullied, What Parent Need to Know."This topic is such an important one, and in doing their research they realized there is traditional bullying (in person) and there is cyber bullying (online). They found there is so much information on each type, that it can be overwhelming. They decided to break the two types into their own episodes, this is first one. They jump in by defining bullying to clarify what they are talking about because there can be some confusion. Bullying is unwanted aggressive behavior amongst children (can happen between adults too) involving  real or perceived power of balance and where the behavior  is repeated or has the potential to be repeated over time.Listen in to learn:- Why kids bully.- How quickly the balance of power can change and how it  happens more often than you think.- The various types of bullying (verbal, social, physical, cyber), along with examples of where and how it can happen.- That bullying is typically under reported and why kids refrain from reporting it. - Why it is so important  not to label kids as bullies OR victims.- Roles that kids  play in bullying situations.      - How one person can reinforce or change the trajectory of the bullying incidence.- Signs to look out for in your kids that they may be being bullied or your kid is bullying other kids. Any questions you have for Tara? Precious Predicaments

Do you consider yourself a loyal person? Do you know who to be loyal to? When is it time for one to stop being loyal to another individual? Loyalty is a strong feeling of support or allegiance. Loyalty is genuinely having one's best interest at heart. In such case one is hopeful that the relationship is reciprocal.  Today's show is designed to address loyalty. With all that we are seeing today in politics, relationships as well as within the world one may be questioning their loyalty to another. The word loyalty will be defined as well as what to do is the loyalty is unhealthy. Loyalty is a great qualty and character trait to possess. However one should not confuse loyalty with servitude. Let's talk about it. I want to hear your thoughs. Live 2/1/21 at 12pm Pacific. To join in on the conversation call 516 387-194. Hosted by Jeanette Abney LMFT.

In this episode of the Hope + Help Podcast, Christine Chappell interviews Tim Keeter about his book, "Help! My Child is Being Bullied." The conversation also features insights from Tim's 21-year-old son, Gabe, who endured bullying as a child. During the interview, Tim informs parents about behaviors they can watch for which may signal that bullying is taking place, and details biblical wisdom for navigating the early days of "discovery." Both Gabe and Tim share reasons why children are often hesitant to tell parents that they are being bullied, and observe the various ways parents can respond both helpfully and unhelpfully. Tim encourages parents with practical, biblically-informed suggestions for navigating difficult scenarios such as approaching a bully's family and equipping children to engage their bully. Finally, Tim and Gabe close the conversation with words of gospel hope and help for both parent and bullied child. Harmony and Karate- These two words may sound like an oxymoron but Sensi John has somehow managed to turn fighting and peace into an art form. It started in his school in NYC "Harmony By Karate" but soon John became a global movement of countering bullying with peace and pairing Karate with Harmony.John was featured on countless media outlets including CNN and ABC News and his Harmony Power Awards giving back to communities and countering bullying are melding peace and fighting to create Harmony in children of all walks of life everywhere. [01:49] Why Harmony By Karate?Sensei John is focused on the healing part of the martial art - empowerment, healing of the soul, etcMixing the mind with the body to create harmony especially for children to develop learningFocusing on the inner development of the human bodyMartial Arts is not just about the physical aspect but it's just the surface[04:12] The Difference between Harmony By Karate and other DojosSensei John teaches his students to come from a place of restraint rather than being reactiveWhen people lose their temper, they lose everythingThey have to learn how to learn to express their anger constructivelyYou might have heard stories of martial artists hitting someone because they weren't focused on the healing modalities of the martial art which is supposed to be aboutOther martial arts are focused on ego-based environments which are competitive in nature and are not focused on inner development. [07:55] The right time for parents to speakParents should understand that when a child wants to speak to you, it's not your time to speak.Parents usually interject judgement instead of listening to their childrenListening to your children sets a good example to them and will mirror your behavior as they get older[09:06] Being Bullied as a childSensei John started getting bullied at the age of 8 when someone grabbed him by the hair and slammed him. That incident became the impetus of his martial arts career along with his long-time crusade against bullying [13:14] Starting a movementHe shared stories of his former students and how Karate By Harmony changed their lives[14:00] Embracing the word HumanityYou have to embrace humanity and not just use the word for marketing purposesOne rule in his dojo is to embrace humanity in all its various forms. The way to teach empathy is teaching kids how to give, who to give to, and make it a habit 14:44He got a call for Dept Of Education and they're interested in his movement.
