El presidente de Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, anunció que por 72 horas la jefatura de Estado quedará cargo de Cynthia Gellibert, designada por el propio mandatario como vicepresidenta en medio de la pugna por el poder que mantiene con su fórmula en las urnas, Verónica Abad. La decisión tiene lugar en plena campaña electoral, en la que el jefe de Estado busca la reelección. El mandatario de Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, anunció en un decreto que la vicepresidenta interina, Cynthia Natalie Gellibert, que él mismo designó, asumiría el cargo de presidenta de forma temporal del 9 al 12 de enero. El decreto fue rechazado el miércoles por el Parlamento.La medida facilitaría a Noboa participar en actividades relacionadas con su campaña para los comicios del 9 de febrero. Esta acción, sin embargo, desencadenó un intenso debate político sobre la legitimidad de este movimiento y ahondó la disputa entre Noboa y Verónica Abad, la vicepresidenta electa.De acuerdo con la Constitución, el presidente debe pedir licencia para hacer campaña y ser reemplazado por su vicepresidente. Pero, la disputa entre Noboa y Abad mantiene en incertidumbre a los ecuatorianos.Abad fue designada como consejera temporal en Ankara, a donde debía llegar a más tardar el pasado 27 de diciembre, pero, como no lo hizo, el Ejecutivo consideró que ha incurrido en una "ausencia temporal" y designó a la secretaria de Planificación, Sariha Moya, como vicepresidenta temporal.Ante esa decisión, Abad presentó ante la Corte Constitucional una acción de incumplimiento de un dictamen en el que el tribunal establece que las únicas causales de ausencia son las previstas en la Constitución.Finalmente, el sábado 4 de enero, Noboa designó a Cynthia Gellibert, en reemplazo de Moya, quien dejó el cargo por problemas de salud.El nuevo decreto de Noboa apunta a que Gellibert ejerza como jefe de Estado interina durante los períodos en los que el mandatario participe en la campaña electoral. Bea nos habla de la trata de niñas de entre 3 y 6 años que son secuestradas y trasladadas a USA por la frontera, muchas por barco a Miami, incluso por avión, muchas son mexicana y de muchas partes del mundo.
