I found a couple of posts here with some important reminders that I needed and hopefully you can connect with them too. First up was from Mind Essentials (@Mind_Essentials) where we are reminded about Joy and the importance of us making the choice to have more of it in our lives!! I know I need to focus on not only creating it, but hanging onto it! The second one that connected with me on this episode was from Power of Positivity (@LIVEpositivity) where this was shared about the importance of having these 4 Important Words In Life...Love, Honesty, Truth and Respect! So again, for me, I need to keep working on things that have these “anchors” in my life. In today's world and with some of the people in it, both famous and not so much - we need to make more choices (maybe it's just me that needs to do this) that brings these items into a permanent part of our lives. Show Notes This week - the fabled short episode finally manifests as the sheer magnitude of Zanscare's atrocities in Mexico leaves us with little else to talk about. Cronicle's crimes are as big as his tires, Nina makes (and loses) a new friend, Uso gets what he needs (with a little help from his friends) and Katejina's rhetorical strategy is unpersuasive. Does food ever stress you out, for one reason or another? This week's show is here to help you relax and find joy in food and my guest is the wonderful Deanna Minich PhD.I've long followed Deanna's work in nutrition and the beautiful way she links it to the power of colour, body systems, energy centres and ancient wisdom. This week we talk about: Deanna's journey towards the rainbow - how did that take shape? What led Dieanna to her 7 Systems frameworkHow does she address hecklers who challenge, say, the connection between pineapple and ambition or broccoli and love? The intersection between what is bio individually beneficial vs what is temporarily challenging when it comes to incorporating a large range of plant foods. “Anti-nutrients” and the nuanced picture when discussing lectins, phytates, salicylates and oxalates.Detoxification and what 'whole self detoxification' is as a process and why it's more effective than focusing purely on biochemistry.Deanna's favourite 3 desert-Island foods to take with her (GOOD CHOICES!) In this episode of the Play Therapy Podcast, I respond to a great question from Vicky in Canada about the language we use with children, particularly the phrases "good choice" or "bad choice." Vicky expressed concerns about hearing these terms frequently, especially in daycare settings, and wanted to know how this fits (or doesn't) within the child-centered play therapy (CCPT) model. I explain why labeling choices as "good" or "bad" places a judgment on the child's actions, shifting the focus away from the child's ownership and empowerment. I explain that the key principle in CCPT is to keep choices neutral and factual, allowing the child to fully own their decisions and outcomes. Using evaluative language undermines a child's ability to understand their own agency and responsibility for their actions. Instead of labeling choices, we should offer children the opportunity to make decisions without judgment, fostering independence and internal motivation. Brian McTaggart, Astros beat reporter for MLB.com, joins The Matt Thomas Show after the Astros avoided the sweep against the Oakland Athletics with Thursday's 6-3 victory. Framber Valdez allowed a run on five hits and a walk while striking out six in just over six innings. "He's keeping his emotions in check," McTaggart said. With Valdez, Yusei Kikuchi and Hunter Brown all pitching well, manager Joe Espada has "got some good choices" when it comes to constructing his postseason rotation. If they could clinch the division before their final regular season series against the Cleveland Guardians, the Astros would be able to rest their starters before the Wild Card round. "You got to hope that last series doesn't mean anything." Injuries have been the main concern for the Astros all season long, and with the closing weeks approaching, the roster has not been freed from this challenge. Second baseman Jose Altuve exited Wednesday's game with right side discomfort and did not play Thursday. However, both Altuve and Espada do not seem worried about the injury. "It wouldn't surprise me if he played this weekend." Optimism will carry into the outfield, where Kyle Tucker is expected to make his return to right field after starting his first few games back from a fractured shin as a designated hitter. "Tucker might play right field tonight."

Are you the woman that is expected to hold it together, where all of your energy is consumed in the everyday? The type of woman who has wild dreams, but your obligations are overpowering, and those beautiful dreams stay on the backburner of your heart's greatest longings? If so, this episode is for you! In one of my MOST cherished conversations on the podcast, New York Times bestselling author Lauren Grodstein joins me for an intimate and heartwarming discussion about living as a woman in what is still a Virginia Woolf world, indoctrinated as "women of labor" and the demands of life as the oldest daughter of her family. In this conversation, we also speak to how womanhood poses challenges as a Jewish woman specifically, in light of the tragic events on and following October 7th, and how her latest book release We Must Not Think of Ourselves was unintentionally a timely message sharing the stories of the Warsaw Ghetto in 1940 and keeping their stories alive. We are once again living in a time when no choice feels like a good choice, but Lauren does an impressive job depicting this in her novel, and in real life on this podcast. She truly has a way with words that awakens your senses to truly see + feel as if you are there, and encompassing all emotions. Be sure to stay tuned till the end, where she graciously also shares with us secrets of the publishing process and how to make writing your book easier - bye bye Writer's Block, hello Paris? About Lauren: Lauren Grodstein is the author of five novels, including the Read with Jenna selection and national bestseller We Must Not Think of Ourselves, New York Times bestseller A Friend of the Family and the Washington Post Book of the Year The Explanation for Everything. The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts the second study session on Roxanna Asgarian's We Were A Family. Gus did not want to read this book at this moment. In fact, Gus chose this book a year previously, but reneged on the selection to study Columbine instead (Good Choice). Gus was about to pick a different book this year too. However, Suspected Racist Asgarian mentions Dorothy Roberts' work on the child welfare system. Gus just spoke to her in person right here in Seattle, Washington. Asgarian also mentions lame Matthew Shepard, once again, suggesting that this White dude was the victim of a "hate crime" because he's "gay." Gus encourages listeners to maintain a high level of suspicious and alertness while reading this non-fiction narrative of two lesbian White Women adopting a bunch of non-white children, only to kill them all. Last week, Asgarian detailed the origins of how Devonte Hart and his siblings ended up in the clutches of a White lesbian duo. We hear all the negro trauma drama about Devonte's black parents being involved in drugs and generational poverty because of the System of White Supremacy. His black mother Sherry was just a child, she reportedly watched her mother be shot to death by her black male "boyfriend." We're told Devonte's brother Dontay attempted suicide when he was 10 years old as result of the constant disruptions to his attempted family. Listeners noted that even the social workers lie to black children about drastic changes that are about to take place in their lives. #BlackBabiesCostLess #CurtisMayfield #TheCOWS15Years INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 605.313.5164 CODE: 564943#
