As California and the west continue to suffer the effects of drought, it is more important than ever to be water-wise in the garden. I talk to Greg Bundesen – Sacramento Water Conservation Supervisor – about what you can do as a homeowner and gardener to use less water but still maintain a green space. We discuss grey water, mulch, converting sprinklers to drip, and where you find ample water saving information. Ce qui est sympa avec les groupes qui commencent par ‘'the'', c'est qu'on peut choisir n'importe quel nom, ça donne directement un côté rock ! Par ex : The Fanny's, ça claque non ? The Green Garden ou The Dirty Window ou The Night Roasters, les torréfacteurs de nuit, ou The Knight Rooster, le chevalier coq. Ça y est, je sens que je suis en pleine vague de créativité : The High Crane, la grue élevée, The Crawling Pigs, les cochons rampants, The Marmalade Heads, les têtes de marmelade… Les frères Davies : les Kinks ! Enfin The Kinks !

Aloha! We provide home-style local food for our customers at an affordable price. Our restaurant opened 10 years ago in the historic building that used to be Green Garden restaurant, previously serving the westside community for 72 years. We know times can be tough and the new generation is working hard, 2 to 3 jobs to make ends meet sometimes. We believe everyone deserves a well-earned sit down meal that is reasonably priced. We decided to open Unko's Kitchen to provide Hanapepe with an affordable establishment for young families so they can enjoy more time with their loved ones. We run our business with Love and Aloha that spreads throughout the establishment. Everybody here is treated like family, you will meet old friends and make new ones, either locals or visitors that had traveled far and near. Here at Unko's Kitchen, our food is homestyle, as if you were cooking for your family at home. Nothing overly fancy, just good-sized, delicious meals at an affordable price. Here at Unko's, the saying is it's not “eat till you're full”, it's “eat until you're tired”. We want everyone who leaves here to be full so they can just CHILLAX the rest of the day. If you're wondering about the pink ribbon in our logo, that is our way to honor and draw attention to Breast Cancer Awareness. This is a cause near to our hearts and it is a part of our family history, we want to bring awareness to it and we remain hopeful that one day a cure will be found. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FOLLOW US ON Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/wherehawaiieats/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wherehawaiieats/ #hawaiianfood #kauai #kaluapork #locomoco

Welcome to Episode 76 of Nooks and Crannies! Your Next Lt. Governor for the Green Garden State, Comrade Heather and Their Eco-Socialistic Green New Deal :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: That's right folks, Heather went all Big-Time on us, is running for Lt. Governor of New Jersey and they Need YOUR MONEY! To get into the debates *in NJ you need to raise 500k to be allowed into the state-wide leadership debates, very democratic system…here is how to help: https://hoffmanforgovnj.com/donate Madelyn Hoffman (Governor) and Heather Warburton (lt. Governor) are looking to pull the upset of all upsets by winning their election on November 2nd in New Jersey! Like the sounds of universal healthcare, free post secondary (and a reinvestment/leveling of grade schools) and a vibrant Sustainable Economy? Well, what about clean public transportation that will reconnect ghettoized communities, or some good ass legal chronic?? If that sounds even slightly more appealing than what the Blue or Red Teams are offering; Which is likely tax cuts to the maga rich and corporations, slashing public expenditures to pay for this, and then participating in petty character assassination attempts of each other so that you are simply distracted and unable to see what levers that “little man behind the curtain” is pulling, if you are tired of the same old bull shit broken promises, and want to see real change and the system to be shaken up…Throw like 50 bux at the Greens, tell your friends to do the same. My name is Trinn, born in Tampa, FL. We moved to Australia when I was 3, and went through school there. After school, I moved to the US and started a career in providing personal security. Feb. '12, I was assaulted, my ankle was shattered and my life was thrown into a tail spin. I almost lost my leg, after many complications and surgery, and $250K in medical bills. I always had relied on my size to make a living. Now I would have to learn to use my mind. Little did I know it was this change that would lead to a full regeneration and body healing. My health continued to decline, and in '14, depressed at the 18 daily medications and the state of my life, I went inside for help. I asked my higher self to show me a path where this speed bump in my health would become a strength. I rapidly began to awaken spiritually, and my body started to change; almost in sync, body and spirit began to heal. I dreamt one night of living in a little house behind my sister's home in WA, and saw that I was healthy, whole and fulfilled. I captured that vision and held it close. A few months later, I sold almost everything and moved to WA. A year later, my family built me that tiny house to regain my health. After 2 years on full disability, unable to work, I began to seriously study plant medicine and cannabis in general. One year after beginning treatment with cannabis and specifically CBD from hemp, I have no pain and take no regular medications. The power to heal comes from within and all of the tools to speed that process are available to us outside of pharmaceuticals. My life has a become a mission to heal and educate the world. I have my life back. I run multiple companies and manage sales on the West Coast for Green Garden Gold, a company that has made high quality CBD products available to the USA and now Asia for the past 3 years. Two weeks to go until SXSW and what is this?! It's not a SXSW preview! Yeah I know. I decided instead to do a SXSW Recap podcast. Since I imagine most of you aren't going, it will probably be more interesting to hear about what I actually went to and liked rather than just what I think might be good. For those of you that want a preview though, don't fret. The SXSW Torrent did actually come so you can check that out. Or, you can check out what I've put together on Spotify (link). I have put together two sets of playlists for you. One set, sorted by genre, is the complete listing of all the artists performing at SXSW (that were available on Spotify). It's something like 1500 artists. I, of course, have listened to (or will have in the next two weeks) all of them and that is the second set of playlists, my selections. It is from this far paired down group that I will be building my schedule. So head over to Spotify. Check it out. And follow the playlists so you will get notified when I update them. For the other nerds out there, you might be interested to know that I actually wrote a Matlab script to crawl the SXSW webpage and populate a spreadsheet with artist, genre, and hyperlink to their SXSW page. I then used this spreadsheet to check off which artists I had added to Spotify playlists and which songs I had listened to. The making the playlists part did kind of take forever. Next year I'm gonna learn some JSON so I can just use the Spotify API. If I actually get that going, you can expect Spotify playlists from tons of different music festivals to start showing up. I'll keep you posted. As for this episode, well, you've read enough of my writing already. Just listen. One correction though. It's only been 13 years, not 14.Thanks for listening and don't forget to support the artists,AaronTracklist (these are links to buy the tracks)1.Pine Needle Tea by Chadwick Stokes on The Horse Comanche2.Dyin Day by Anais Mitchell on Young Man In America3.With You by Roméo Testa on The End4.I Loved You by Alice Russell on To Dust5.Open by Rhye on Woman6.Warm Water by Banks on Goddess7.Open Air ft Joyce Wrice by TOKiMONSTA on Desiderium8.Green Garden by Laura Mvula on Sing to the Moon9.Don't Wait by Mapei on Hey Hey10.And So We Dance by Kellylee Evans on I Remember When11.Betray My Heart by D'Angelo and The Vanguard on Black Messiah
It's time to plant my garden. We go to the garden store. It has everything we need. I want a green green garden. I find many seeds to plant. Mom says, "We will buy some seeds." Dad says, "We will also buy some baby plants." They are very little. They all look the same. Dad rents a plow from Mr. Pinky. We go home to plant my green, green garden. Dad plows the garden. We pick up stones and clumps of grass. This is not fun. We plant the seeds and the baby plants. I'm tired. I need cool water. We are finished. I say, "Now we can rest." Dad says, "We must water each plant." We take turns. Every day we weed, water and wait. We weed, water and wait some more. We wait a lot. Dad takes pictures. At school I learn more about gardening. We make a compost heap full of old leaves and stuff. It makes good garden dirt. We buy worms to put in my garden. We buy good bugs that eat bad bugs. Deer come and eat some of my garden. Blue wants to protect it. Finally, I have a green, green garden. I have a yellow, orange and red garden, too! We have a great dinner, all from my green, green garden!
