Le quotidien israélien de centre gauche raconte comment l'AIPAC, aux États-Unis, se trouve aujourd'hui dans une posture très inconfortable.  L'AIPAC, c'est le Comité des affaires publiques américano-israéliennes. Haaretz rappelle que l'AIPAC défend les intérêts du gouvernement israélien à Washington depuis des décennies, et que depuis les années 1970 en particulier, il a accumulé un pouvoir politique et financier énorme grâce à ses activités de lobbying et à son implication dans la vie politique électorale, en ciblant les parlementaires des deux partis.  Mais aujourd'hui les temps ont changé. L'énergie et les sommes déployées par l'AIPAC pour torpiller le plan Obama sur l'Iran il y a dix ans lui avaient déjà valu les foudres des Démocrates, mais voilà qu'aujourd'hui les Républicains sont eux aussi divisés quant à l'extrémisme de l'AIPAC. Un nombre croissant de Républicains, écrit Haaretz, accusent l'AIPAC de tenter d'exercer un contrôle indu sur le gouvernement américain et d'avoir poussé Trump à se joindre à Netanyahu dans la guerre contre l'Iran. On vous a parlé ici même des protestations en Albanie contre un complexe immobilier que souhaitent installer Jared Kushner et Ivanka Trump avec le soutien des autorités albanaises. Ce reportage est à lire dans le Guardian. Et une colère qui va bien au-delà du projet immobilier. « Ce gouvernement ne nous représente plus — il a choisi de représenter des investisseurs oligarques », déclare Ina Shkurti, une jeune Albanaise très remontée. « Ce que nous voulons, c'est une nouvelle Albanie », ajoute Justina Prenga, 24 ans. « Nous sommes la génération Z et nous disons "ça suffit" — notre pays n'est pas à vendre ».  En France, cette canicule qui inquiète Et qui énerve ! « C'est un ras-le-bol généralisé qui gagne progressivement les parents d'élèves de toute la France », raconte Le Parisien. « Une colère sourde, doublée d'une inquiétude, qui, ces derniers jours, a vu de nombreuses familles prendre le taureau par les cornes pour tenter de lutter contre les effets de la canicule ».  Le journal raconte comment des parents d'élèves excédés se chargent eux-mêmes de faire ce qu'il faut pour rafraîchir les salles de classe. Il y a ces habitants de Bougival, à l'ouest de Paris, qui ont fourni à l'école des ventilateurs et des tuyaux d'arrosage. Ceux de Nantes qui repeignent en blanc les fenêtres des salles de classe pour filtrer les rayons du soleil. Et puis à Paris, situation kafkaïenne, dit le journal : des parents à qui une école dit non quand ils proposent des ventilateurs… refus pour raison de sécurité… de quoi les agacer encore un peu plus. En période de canicule, les esprits aussi s'échauffent.

Zum einen war da der Tech-Milliardär Elon Musk, der mit dem Börsengang seines Raumfahrt- und Technologie-Unternehmens SpaceX so viel Geld eingesammelt hat, dass er jetzt der erste Dollar-Billionär der Welt ist. Viele sagen, dass er damit der Allmacht noch ein Stück nähergekommen ist. Zumindest der Allmacht auf Erden; die Raketen, die er ins All schickt, stürzen regelmäßig ab. Doch nicht nur in den USA nimmt Musk immer häufiger Einfluss auf die ganz reale Politik. Und das kann er, weil er superreich ist. Es entsteht ein Kult um die Schamlosigkeit der Superreichen. Ich frage mich, ob demokratische Gesellschaften dem noch etwas entgegenzusetzen haben, oder ob am Ende alle sein wollen wie die Superreichen. Wie sie sind, das zeigte eine andere superreiche Familie. Das Ehepaar Ivanka Trump und Jared Kushner will die albanische Insel Sazan zu einem schicken Hotel-Ressort ausbauen. Das wollen ziemlich viele Albaner aber nicht und gehen deswegen Tag um Tag auf die Straße in der Landeshauptstadt Tirana. Weil in der Lagune vor der Insel Flamingos rasten, sind die Proteste als „Flamingo-Proteste“ weltweit in die Schlagzeilen geraten. Die Proteste werden bewundert, doch können die Demonstranten noch etwas bewegen gegen die Macht der Ultrareichen? Die albanische Regierung unter Rama schwärmt weiter über das Projekt und wie es Albanien voranbringen könnte - eine unheilige Allianz zwischen Oligarchen und Regierungen? Zum gemeinsamen Nachdenken habe ich Klimaaktivistin Luisa Neubauer eingeladen, die zuletzt gesagt hat, dass es "eine andere Art des Aktivismus" braucht, um zu gewinnen. Dubbed "The Flamingo Revolution", the anti-government protests have kicked off after Prime Minister Edi Rama announced plans for a luxury resort to be built, in part, on environmentally-protected land. The resort's primary investor would be Jared Kushner, son-in-law to U.S. President Donald Trump. Rama, however, has downplayed the size of the protests, and claimed that much of the outrage online has been fueled by Iranian agents. We're not coming in with a polished take. We're working through ideas in real time, and that's exactly what makes them worthwhile.This time around, Patrick and I dove into a word that doesn't get nearly enough airtime in 2026: prudence. It's one of those terms that has been moralized, gendered, and generally squeezed out of everyday conversation. But it's also one of the nine principles in my upcoming book Productiveness, and the more I unpack it, the more convinced I am that it's something we're all practicing quietly — even when we don't call it by name.Six Discussion PointsPrudence traces back to the mid-14th century as a concept tied to intelligence, foresight, and practical wisdom — and it sits alongside justice, fortitude, and temperance as one of the four classical cardinal virtues. That's a lot of weight for a word most people associate with Dana Carvey doing George H.W. Bush.The word has faded from everyday use for a few reasons: it got moralized through its religious and philosophical associations, it became a common woman's name that then fell out of fashion, and perhaps most crucially, it got sidelined by a speed culture that has no patience for anything that feels unhurried.Prudence lives in interesting territory between "too soft" words like intentional and "too hard" words like strategic or tactical. It carries a moral dimension that neither of those fully captures, which is part of why it's so hard to replace and so easy to overlook.The connection between prudence and AI turned into one of the richest threads we pulled on. Patrick made the point that AI is fundamentally not prudent — it doesn't tolerate known unknowns well, and tends to hallucinate its way toward confident-sounding answers even on questions that science genuinely hasn't resolved (yawning being a particularly delightful example). Applying AI prudently means knowing where human judgment still has to lead.Evening routines and morning preparation came up as lived examples of prudence in action — laying out clothes the night before, prepping dinner before your brain is fully engaged, checking in with a collaborator ahead of a scheduled call. Prudence often shows up in the small, low-glamour decisions we make before we even know we'll need them.Patrick, who does circus rigging work, offered a line that I think is the most compressed definition of prudence I've heard: "Slow is smooth and smooth is fast." When you're under time pressure — two minutes to set up a flying net — the prudent approach isn't to rush. Thousands have protested in the streets of the Albanian capital, Tirana, this week against a planned luxury resort backed by Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner. Groundwork has begun on the $1.6bn complex in an area long seen as one of the Mediterranean's most environmentally sensitive, containing 200 species of birds including flamingos and Dalmatian pelicans. After builders began erecting a concrete-based, barbed wire-topped fence around the site, alarm turned to public outrage at the environmental damage and lack of political transparency around the deal.
