Hey Lifers!Over the past 4 months we have been working on this very special project; a brand new 10 part mini series called Cloud, hosted by Life Uncut’s Executive Producer Keeshia Pettit. Cloud is a podcast series created to discuss ADHD and late age diagnosis; a conversation that was sparked after Keeshia’s own diagnosis. The name Cloud is inspired by the experiences of many late-diagnosed women who describe finally feeling like a “cloud was lifted” after learning more about the different ways that their brains work and how they ‘fit’ into society. With all of the content about ADHD on social media explaining what the condition is, I’ve been on quite a journey figuring out the difference between what I thought were personality flaws and what is actually symptomatic of this condition. I realised that there was a bit of a gap of what to do next. What was I meant to do with all of this information? Cloud was created to fill that gap. It explores the intersection of ADHD with identity, relationships, career, and well-being so that we can live more fulfilling and more present lives. Each episode will offer insight into a different aspect of ADHD from guests like Mark Manson, the author of ‘The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, psychiatrist Dr Kieran Kennedy, focus and attention expert Johann Hari and relationship experts Sabrina Zohar and Logan Ury. Today’s conversation is about emotional dysregulation, shame, masking, impulsivity, self criticism and success. We chat: Why I was so hesitant to speak publicly about ADHD The ‘oversaturation’ of ADHD content on social media How ADHD presents differently in girls and women Wondering if I'd have known earlier, would life have been easier? How I've changed since diagnosis How Britt & Laura feel I've changed Rejection sensitive dysphoria, emotional dysregulation, shame, impulsivity and time blindness. Am I a chameleon or am I masking? Steve Stratton started his military career at the White House Communications Agency supporting the needs of Presidents Ford and Carter, Vice Presidents Rockefeller and Mondale, and Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. His work took him around the world introducing him to new cultures, ways of thinking, and the various agencies tasked with projecting and protecting American interests abroad. The jump to the US Secret Service was an easy transition but after several years and an election campaign, Steve left for the commercial sector. Steve was awarded his Green Beret in 1986. From the 80's through 2000, he deployed with 20th Special Forces on counter-drug and training missions in the SOUTHCOM region. We are sneaking another guest episode this week, as it is currently Men's Health Week from 13th to 19th of June 2023. As you know, while men's health, women's health or anyone's health (and the surrounding conversations) are important every day of the year, we do a dedicated episode each June to specifically remind us all of some of the major men's health statistics, challenges and resources and they've been so helpful to me even as a woman – as a wife, sister, friend, colleague, the list goes on… I don't think we could be graced with two better guests for the occasion than the absolute legends we have with us today, both of whom have been on the show before but who are on together this time because they have since become friends AND co-authored a BOOK! Back for his third appearance is psychiatrist, mental health advocate and former calf club member, Dr Kieran Kennedy and for his second appearance, publisher, author and former editor of Men's Health Magazine, Scott Henderson. If you've been listening for a while, you'll already know what amazing work they are each doing for men's health (and health generally) as well as being fabulous role models in the realm of redefining modern masculinity and men's mental health conversations. But now, they have collated it all into the handbook we've literally talked about the world needing –perfectly titled, The MANual: a practical guide to life, health and happiness. From the science behind nutrition and training to the anecdotal surrounding relationships, body image, sexuality… they literally cover it all. I'll let them tell you more about it themselves because I'm already not doing them justice. This was SUCH a delight – funny, moving, reflective… I hope you enjoy as much as I did. >>> GET YOUR COPY OF THE MANUAL HERE

Perfect time to send some more random, joyful banter into your ears - after I went into Dr Kieran Kennedy's episode a few weeks ago without ANY notes or plans and had such a blast, I decided to this same for this week to see where it took us. And what a thrill to be joined by two amazing humans who also love a good chinwag, Tully Humphrey and Sarah Pasini. Welcome back to #yaysofourlives everyone, this one's a bit of a cracker. In a Seize the Yay first, I didn't write any notes to prepare for this episode OR edit any of it at all which is both terrifying and liberating as well a testament to what a great conversationalist our guest for the episode truly is. I'm joined by absolute legend Dr Kieran Kennedy, a medical doctor, psychiatrist and mental health advocate who first appeared on the show back in episode 92 (which I highly recommend you go and have a listen to for context). It is in fact the one year anniversary this week of our chat for last year's Men's Health Week and I thought who better to join for a reunion to discuss THIS year's Men's Health Week than Dr Kieran. Kieran is a dedicated advocate for redefining societal ideas about masculinity, encouraging open conversations about mental health and wellbeing, and has been a shining light for many of us through the challenges of Victoria's continued lockdowns. He also EXPERTLY weaves in amongst his technical scientific wisdom, a wicked sense of humour, passion for calf club which I'll never let him live down and love for seizing his yay making this an absolute hoot. We really only met properly during last year's episode and haven't known each other long but he's one of those people you instantly trust and can have the most enjoyably tangential conversations with. I had also been filming for over 15 hours when we recorded this so please excuse my delirium - I usually don't let that level of crazy out of the bag, but hopefully you get a few laughs out of it as well as some more serious, practical insights on managing your mental health. On this week’s episode of the Let’s Talk Fast podcast, I am very lucky to be able to speak with Dr Kieran Kennedy who is a doctor, mental health advocate, writer and speaker who is passionate about health, fitness and breaking down the barriers to our overall wellbeing. As a self-proclaimed gym nut as well as a doctor working in psychiatry, Kieran sees first-hand the importance in advocating for mental health along with physical health to combine a well-balanced approach to health for both the physical and mental space of our lives.Mental health struggles have always been a cause for worldwide illness, however in the past few years, and especially in the past 12 months with COVID, mental health has become one of the leading causes to chronic health issues. In this episode Kieran talks in detail about the current state of affairs and how COVID has played a large role in the rise of people suffering from anxiety, depression and other mental health related issues and what he believes are the KEY actions you can take to help yourself navigate through these challenging times to see you live your best life.Kieran is a WEALTH of knowledge and is part of a growing move from the younger medical fraternity, who place a focus on working towards a health solution as a collaborative effort rather than a doctor centered approach.I hope you enjoy the episode and if you did and haven't already, please go and give the podcast a quick review and 5 star rating as it would mean the world to me and then DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE to make sure you never miss an episode!!!Join the tribe and become a NO BREAKFAST CLUB member today and receive daily workouts sent directly to your email, discounts on products and services and MUCH more planned in the no too distant future. The 15th-21st of June is Men's Health Week, here in Australia, shining the spotlight on the key issues in men's health to raise the profile of men, their health and outcomes and health needs around the country. Who better to share some insights into men's health than this week's guest - Dr Kieran Kennedy. Dr Kieran is one of those incredible go getters, with degrees in science and in Medicine/Surgery and is currently completing the last few months of his Psychiatry residency. For those that don't know, those last two take a total of 12 years study and a serious commitment. He is passionate about health and fitness and breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health. Dr Kieran is incredibly warm and funny, intelligent and informed and we had an enriching conversation about men's mental health, the personal and professional impact of the current COVID climate, and what it's been like working at one of Melbourne's busiest hospitals during the pandemic. We also talked about managing anxiety and self-care, as well as some moving stories from his life as a doctor. He talks with ease about the more difficult things in life and as a mental health professional myself, it was a delight to tackle some of the bigger issues together. Dr Kieran's zest for life and enthusiasm for breaking down the barriers when it comes to mental health is incredibly encouraging, and I know we'll be seeing a whole lot more of Dr Kieran in the years to come. You can find the links to his website here, as well as to Dr Kieran on Instagram and don't forget to leave us a rating and review and tag us in your thoughts on The Curious Life Insta! Now in the interest of good mental health, pop on your runners, pop in your air pods and head out for a walk while listening to The Curious Life with Dr Kieran Kennedy. You might know that this week is Men's Health Week and while, of course everyone's health is equally important, I really support the particular focus this week on the unique challenges faced by men in both their physical and mental health. As you'll hear, men's health outcomes often fall far behind those of women and they still face a lot of stigma around the perceived “weakness” of seeking help, so I think this is a wonderful way to remind men they're not alone and to help women too understand how we can help change the dialogue for our partners, brothers, sons and friends. Men's mental health statistics in particular always come as a shock to me and if you haven't listened to our chats with Osher Günsberg and Jake Edwards, they share some honest and personal insights on their mental health journey that are well worth a listen. For this episode, I thought we'd get a medical expert's perspective and who better to join us than medical doctor, psychiatry resident and mental health advocate, Dr Kieran Kennedy. You might have seen Dr Kieran on the latest cover of Men's Health Magazine dedicated to the incredible efforts of healthcare workers through the COVID19 pandemic and that's just one of the many challenges he generously opens up about in our chat. From humble, idyllic beginnings in rural New Zealand (you'll hear ALL about the joys of what's called Calf Club), Kieran is the embodiment of persistence and grit working his way through a Bachelor of Science into medical studies and is now six months off finishing his specialisation in Psychiatry AND fits his passion for fitness and a bodybuilding career in on the side. He is self-deprecating in a way that belies his success and he gives us such powerful insights into men's struggles with societal views on manliness, hardening up and even on how much more widespread men's battles with body image is and valuing themselves on how they look. This conversation opened my eyes up to so much and I hope it does the same for you too. In this episode I delve into the sensitive subject of concussions in combat sports. I speak to two transition year students who have came up with a brilliant idea that will identify head trauma with a microchip that provides real time information onto an app. I also interview Kieran Kennedy who is a coach at St Pauls B.C Waterford and has been a ruby coach and player in the past. I also took to the streets of Waterford to see what was the strangest way people injured themselves. Enjoy!

It’s been a bit tricky trying to coordinate recording our podcast, considering strict social isolation rules. But our man behind the consoles, Ian McFarlane has found a way, and the team, led by the man with the voice John Deeks, has come together ‘virtually’ to bring you episode 43 of Mind Your Own Retirement. This week, Janelle lifts the veil on her lockdown life before our first guest – practising psychologist and author of Retirement Your Way, Judy Rafferty – joins John to discuss how retirement has been redefined in recent years, and how boomers are doing it unlike any other generation before them. Next is Dr Kieran Kennedy, who offers tips on how to handle self-isolation, especially for anyone who lives alone or who may be struggling to stay positive in these trying times. He presents the facts about the virus, how the measures put in place have helped slow the spread and the implications of resulting measures on mental health and the community. And our favourite money man Noel Whittaker talks about bank dividends and superannuation and how COVID-19 is affecting your nest egg, including the outlook for banks and other financial institutions. He offers sage retirement advice for anyone (rightfully) concerned with their finances right now.
In this episode of the 'Pump-Cast' we are joined by Dr Kieran Kennedy (@drkierankennedy), who you may have recently seen gracing the front cover of Men's Health Magazine in Australia (@menshealthau). But more than just a well chiseled face and impressive set of pipes - Dr Kieran Kennedy is a man who is dedicating his life to exploring the links and connections between physical and mental health. His titles include: Physician, Psychiatry Resident, Mental Health Advocate, Covid-19 Myth Buster, keynote speaker and very well published writer.Listen in as we discuss:- Breaking down and understanding mental health, and the stigma surrounding it- The changing landscape of mental health awareness as it relates to young men- The undeniable links between mental and physical health- Understanding stress responses and stress management- Tools to help improve mental health and strengthen mental resilience- Advantages to approaching mental health like physical health- and many more..Kieran is a fantastic resource and really took the time to answer our questions thoughtfully and thoroughly. Not to mention - he might also be one of the nicest people we've had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing. I look forward to the repeal of social distancing measures to have Kieran down to the garage to take us all through his arm routine! ANXIETY IS A REAL PROBLEM DURING COVID 19
This is our first of the MINI episodes which we are hoping to dedicate to a single topic. This ep is with Dr. Kieran Kennedy from episode 8 and we are using this opportunity to speak to him about the Coronavirus pandemic. It is effecting all of us and Liam and I were very grateful to Kieran for giving his time to have a chat about a topic I'm sure is dominating his world at the moment too! We would love some feedback on the MINI episode & if it is something you would be keen for us to do more of, hopefully with Murph and I together when we're allowed to be in the same room again! Thank for everyone listening and supporting the podcast, please enjoy this chat and we hope you find some comfort within it. Thanks!
In this episode, we talk to Dr. Kieran Kennedy ( @drkierankennedy ) our favourite Neuropsychiatry Doctor on the planet! Our chat ranges from his advocacy work in the media, the consuming world of medicine, fitness modelling and ultimately the balance between it all. Kieran is very humble for all his achievements, and is very open about the times in which he struggles to manage his busy life, which he follows up really well by talking through some of the simple but super important steps we can all take to re-calibrate and reset, for the good of our Mental Health. He is as genuine as they come, he is a great voice of reason through the trying times we're all living in right now and I hope you enjoy this chat. Please share it with anyone you can because we are super proud of this one and super grateful to have Kieran in our corner. Enjoy! Once again, big thanks to the guys at MENDL for their support and some great gear they sent Kieran's way. They are doing great things in this space and we're proud to be a partner of theirs. Check them out!
Sportswear manufacturer O’Neills announced drastic measures in the face of the Coronavirus outbreak, as they’ve had to lay-off 750 of their staff at their factory. They are the largest employer in Strabane in Co. Tyrone and I’m joined by Managing Director of O’Neill’s Kieran Kennedy.
Let the friendly voice of YourLifeChoices’ latest Mind Your Own Retirement podcast get your Australia Day 2020 off to a relaxing start. Today, it’s the John and Janelle show. First up, they chat with Jonathan Brown, consumer advocate at CHOICE. He explains how we can take charge of 2020: by getting on the front foot and demanding better prices – for everything, giving your health insurance a health check, getting your heating and cooling bills under control and even auditing your pantry – a novel but excellent idea! If you’ve been putting off the annual visit to your GP – or maybe, like so many men, you’re not even going annually – then Dr Kieran Kennedy is just the person to boost your confidence. He lifts the lid on the other side of those often embarrassing (for us) body checks. Finally, travel editor Leon has been on the phone checking with tourist authorities around the country to gain an understanding of what we can do next to help. It’s a long way back for so many communities and regions, but older Australians can play a pivotal role, he says.

Vancouver based singer-songwriter Reid Jamieson has just released what may be the album of his career, "Me Daza". Recorded in Ireland, with Kieran Kennedy, 'me daza' is actually Cork Ireland slang for 'most excellent' or 'awesome', which this album most definitely is. Reid Jamieson and the other half of this music and life partnership, Carolyn Victoria Mill, join us on Episode 443 of Folk Roots Radio to chat about the making of the new album and upcoming tour dates. It's a great interview - you won't want to miss it. We also check out new music from Lydia Persaud, Michelle Rumball, Gillian Nicola, Sumaia Jackson and Richard Garvey. Vancouver based singer-songwriter Reid Jamieson has just released his latest album "Me Daza". 'Me Daza' is actually Cork Ireland slang for 'most excellent' or 'awesome', though strictly speaking it actually means 'I'm dying'. Dying because of brilliance, perhaps - because this recording really does feel like a special piece of work, and may be the best thing Reid Jamieson has done in his career so far. Recorded in Ireland with producer Kieran Kennedy, the new recording features eight fabulous new songs, all written with music and life partner Carolyn Victoria Mill alongside a great cover "Don’t Go Down", written by the late lamented Fergus O’Farrell with Glen Hansard. We caught up with Reid Jamieson and Carolyn Victoria Mill at home in Vancouver to learn more about the new album. Music: Reid Jamieson "Evergreen (Love Song For The Crone)", "Perfect Storm", "Don’t Go Down", "She (#repealthe8th)" and "Lullaby For The Lost" from "Me Daza" (2019, Self) Reid Jamieson and Carolyn Victoria Mill will be on tour in Ontario in early May with shows in Dundas (Shawn & Ed Brewing Co, May 2), Guelph (eBar, May 3) and Toronto (Rivoli, May 5). For more information and full tour dates, visit http://reidjamieson.com.
