Seine Karriere hat den in München geborenen Politikwissenschaftler Yascha Mounk in die USA geführt, wo er an zwei renommierten Hochschulen – an der Harvard Universität in Cambridge und der Johns Hopkins Universität in Baltimore – unterrichtet.
