JONAH RAY "Dare To Be Stupid" You Can't Call Me Al Burger / Asian Man Records https://burgerrecords.11spot.com/jonah-ray-you-can-t-call-me-al.html Who is Jonah Ray? You might know him better from Mystery Science Theater 3000 or the Nerdist Podcast, but I know him from the Hawaiin punk scene in the early 2000's. So what does this all mean? Well, it means we are releasing Jonah's 1st ever music release called "You Can't Call Me Al". So here's the deal. Jonah recorded original music using Weird Al lyrics. The result is a crazy mish mash of Atom and His Package meets Jeff Rosenstock meets Weezer meets warmed hearts. -Cody Votolato from Blood Brothers on guitar. -produced by zac carper from fidlar

He has a podcast of his own called Jonah Raydio, and most important to my girlfriend, he is the current host on the well received reboot of Mystery Science Theater 3000 on Netflix. What questions do you want your audience asking at any given time? Waaaaaaaaaay back in DZ-05, Stu and Chas examined how shifting narrative point of view (i.e. what the audience knows in relation to the characters on screen) heightens emotions in any given scene. We've now taken that micro idea and applied it to the macro: how can deciding what the audience knows and when in relation to the characters organise your story? Are whole sequences or even acts driven by the audience following a character, feeling concerned about a character, empathising with a character or being absorbed in the irony of knowing more than all the characters interacting on screen. To tackle this topic, Stu and Chas dive in to films that make very conscious structural choices in relation to narrative POV, namely: GET OUT, DUNKIRK and the underrated German film THE LIVES OF OTHERS (with honourable mentions to LA CONFIDENTIAL and MANCHESTER BY THE SEA). Wait till the end to hear poor Stu's mind absolutely blown in relation to the Kuleshov effect. As always: SPOILERS ABOUND Audio quotations used for educational purposes only. Well, if you know me or if you keep up with us on social media you've heard of the painful passing of the better half of this show, and my grandmother Bess. She made me promise I wouldn't stop playing my music or going on so here I am carrying on the show and she appointed and approved her daughter/my mother Tara Lanning to stand in as a co-host tonight and from time to time. On this episode we celebrate her beautiful life and legacy by sharing covers we dedicate to her, some of her classic guitar pickin', and sharing some wonderful recordings of her and I that have never been posted before. We hope you all enjoy. We miss you and love you more than any words could ever express Bess. Get ready for the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man! The Marvel Cinematic Universe's new Spidey, Tom Holland, was Chris Hardwick's guest on the latest installment of the Nerdist Podcast. And together, they're spinning a web about Spider-Man: Homecoming. After sharing a funny story about the '70s Spider-Man TV series, Tom was quick to admit that most of his in-costume scenes were filmed in a motion capture studio. However, he stressed that it is almost always him in the costume. Tom also related the feeling of powerlessness he felt when his face was covered, before finding ways to convey his performance through the rest of his body. Chris and Tom also speak about the new tone used in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which plays a lot like a John Hughes movie. Although both Tom and Chris agreed that they would probably embrace a life of crime if they had superpowers. Tom went on to relate his Lip Sync Battle experience, and how he felt when he had to "become" Rihanna. Amazingly, Tom hasn't had a chance to really process how much his life has changed since his first appearance as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War. He also pointed out that the final movie would work as a high school comedy even if all of the Spider-Man scenes were cut out of it. Additionally, Tom recalls the time that he forgot to use an American accent in one of the scenes from Homecoming. According to Tom, no one noticed it until he pointed it out. It's a long chat between Tom and Chris, so sit back, and enjoy!
Andy Samberg returns to the Nerdist Podcast for the third time! He and Chris talk about all the toys Chris has in the studio, movies they have seen recently and how Andy really wants to be in a disaster movie. They also talk about how badly they want a third Bill and Ted movie, comedians who are buff and his new movie on HBO Tour de Pharmacy!

You wouldn't believe how many people would like to start a podcast but absolutely don't know how. Of those people, the ones who actually get to the point of hitting 'Publish' have no idea how they got there. Me, for example. I started podcasting in 2010 after discovering The Nerdist Podcast, the Giant Bombcast, and the Gamers with Jobs Podcast. I was in grad school at the time, and I suddenly decided I wanted to do it. I had no idea what I was doing, so I made A LOT of mistakes. Lots and lots and lots of mistakes. I think that's why I'm qualified to talk about how to launch a successful podcast. Listen to this podcast episode, and you will be guaranteed to avoid the major pitfalls people fall into when trying to start their own show. If you want to start a successful, rewarding, and ultimately enjoyable podcast, give this episode a listen. We have five kick-ass tips for the beginner podcaster -- or those looking to refine your podcasting process. I'm joined this week by Jeremy, the host of one of my very favorite shows, Lopez Radio. He's a great guy, and he actually was the person to give me a swift kick in the ass about getting the right equipment for podcasting. For this episode, I leaned heavily on the work of John Lee Dumas, who is the host of the DAILY Entrepreneur on Fire Podcast, as well as the author of several books on the subject, including Podcast Launch: How to Create, Grow, & Monetize Your Podcast. Visit him online at @JohnLeeDumas on Twitter.

In this episode, Joe is joined by Jef Burnham and Steve Sullivan to discuss 1989’s much maligned Ghostbusters II. The guys discuss why this perfectly good movie is dismissed as garbage, things the film has over the original Ghostbusters, fantastic comedic moments throughout, the over-abundance of hatred and cynicism in the world, the forthcoming Ghostbusters reboot (no spoilers, they haven’t seen it), and issue a challenge to fans of The Karate Kid 2. The talented clog dancers, Chris & Paul chat with producer, arranger, composer & performer Jonathan Killearn. It’s a battle of dueling microphones & cheap Korean guitars. Jonathan did the “Advice with Dawn” music on the The Dawn And Drew Show. “It May Not Be An Apple Watch, But It’s Still Pretty Cool” is Jonathan’s latest track. The lyrics are about drum & bugle corps enthusiast, Jdfuncorps. Jonathan made his rough prototype with Reason and then recorded his acoustic instruments. Jonathan’s gorgeous beastly bass guitar. Music as a Healing Bridge from TedxBuffalo. You can study Music Therapy at Jonathan’s alma mater, Ohio University. Struck by lightning & then compelled to compose music? Tiny houses have no room for drum sets. Pitch shifting to the rescue! Everyone needs a suitcase kick drum. Put on your nice shoes & tap out the beat Montreal style. Process is important but everyone finds their way if they’re passionate enough. Mike Judge recently discussed the various ways he made his animations in a recent Nerdist Podcast. Chris remembers Eddie and the Cruisers during a discussion about tempo. I Dream of Wires is a documentary about the electronic modular synthesizer. Jonathan believes you do need limits to be creative. He’s not the only one. Jonathan’s vocal mic, Studio Projects C4. Alejandro nos dice porqué el episodio de Nerdist Podcast con Bobcat Goldthwait está cool.
The first time we've had three people on the show, Ryan Andrew and Aaron discuss many aspects of the show and blog. An idea was worked on to extend the content on the site. At DesignChat we believe that the community is what makes the discussion great, so we wanted to think about a way we could open a door to inclusiveness. We know that many of our friends are just as passionate about discussing design as we are, and have debates and chats daily. How great would it be if those chats could be captured and shared with the community? We would encourage people to record their conversations on their phone and submit them to the community chat page. The best chats would be released as a podcast episode. Then we moved on to talk about how there needs to be a better way to sign off the show. Given the example of The Nerdist Podcast that says, "Enjoy Your Burrito," we thought about what the DesignChat version of that could be. Ryan made a joke about "Enjoy Your Taco" and unbeknownst to him, Patrick Stewart had made that exact same joke on a recent episode of The Nerdist. Andrew brought up and idea to have the front page be a constant evolving chat that was spurred on by a rotating image possible served up by Behance. The image would be accompanied by a chat area that anyone could chime in to. Chat logs would exist as an on-going discussion. The content could then be published occasionally as a blog post. Two sites with great UX and discussion were mentioned: http://usepanda.com/ http://thetypefight.com/

[rating:3/5] RODRIGO Atomas Atomas is a fascinating puzzle game, which you can learn in seconds but will entertain you for weeks. The perfect game for your spare time! Your little universe starts with hydrogen atoms only but with the help of the energy rich plus atoms you are able to fusion two hydrogen atoms into one helium atom, 2 helium atoms into one lithium atom and so on. Your primary goal is to create the valuable elements like Gold, Platinum and Silver. But watch out, if your universe is overfilled with to many atoms it will cause a big crunch and the game is over. One way to prevent this is to build up long symmetries in your atoms and start big chain reactions. It spawned two feature films, 1998’s “The X-Files: Fight the Future” and 2008’s “The X-Files: I Want to Believe.” – via Variety How did all of this come to pass? When Anderson appeared on Chris Hardwick’s Nerdist Podcast, the two started talking about how great it would be for the show to return, which prompted Hardwick to start a Twitter campaign that trended high enough for Fox executives to start the big wheels rolling. Though an airdate has yet to be announced, fans are already gearing up for their first watch party. Or are they? Are you looking forward to more X-Files episodes?
