12/24/25Episode SummaryGuest & TopicHost Scott Austin brings on attorney Brenda Pagliaro to explain ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliance as it applies to e-commerce websites, especially Shopify stores.Key PointsADA compliance requirements are complex and evolving, and many store owners are confused about what they must do to make their sites accessible. Pagliaro outlines background on the ADA, how accessibility regulations are interpreted for websites, and why online stores often get targeted with demand letters and lawsuits. There is no guaranteed way to prevent getting sued; the focus should be on mitigating risk by implementing accessibility practices, documentation, processes, and using tools (like accessibility apps), though none are a silver bullet. Many cases settle before court, but even settlements and legal defense can be costly for small stores. Practical TakeawaysEcommerce site owners should take ADA compliance seriously, proactively prepare for potential claims, and combine accessibility tools with internal policies and ongoing review to reduce legal risk.Show LinksBrenda Pagliaro - brendapagliarollc@gmail.com or brenda@mediationworksfl.comBrand-It! We're debuting a new series called "Greatest Greatest Hits," which looks at an artist or group's top songs. But this one could also have fit in "Better Than The Beatles," because Quebec's Michel Pagliaro really does sound like John, Paul, or George in several of these songs! You could also consider him an early power-pop exponent, but he's pretty much unknown outside of Canada, where his songs still get played on classic oldies stations. He's important to us because his songs crossed over on the Anglophone and Francophone charts, but you'll probably appreciate his music because it's so well-crafted. Travailler!

ANGELA PETRILLI Interview (with Matt & Rob) Angela is an LA based guitarist who fronts her great band, "The Players" They most recently released a live version of Led Zeppelin's "No Quarter" which will most certainly blow you away! We talked to Angela about the Netflix documentary "Norman's Rare Guitars". Angela is part of the documentary and she's a big part of Norman's Guitars with her "guitar of the week" videos and also instructional videos teaching guitar players some of the songs she absolutely loves. A new album is in the works from Angela Petrilli and the Players! In this interview we talk about Norman's, Zeparella, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Incubus, Martin Guitar and of course.. Guitars! ***** A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ANGELA PETRILLI Back in 2019 Angela lost her dear friend and bandmate Jennifer Pagliaro from stage 4 breast cancer. Angela was one half of the duo "Roses and Cigarettes" (with Jenny). That year they created some major buzz with their 3rd album "Echoes and Silence" and a tour in the works. On March 25th Rolling Stone named their song "Fast as I Can" as one of the 10 best country songs of the week. But in a heartbreaking and tragic turn of events, Pagliaro—who had been fighting off cancer for years—passed away the very next day. She was just 35. For the better part of a year, the grieving Petrilli put down her guitar, left L.A. behind and set out across the world. She traveled to Nashville, New York, Paris and Italy, eventually making it as far as Australia. Along the way, she spent a lot of time on the ocean, where she was able to find some peace and clarity. As she began to heal, she could feel her muse calling once again. Finally back home in L.A., she reached out to some musician friends and booked a bar gig under the name The Petrilli Players. The idea was to shake off the cobwebs, play some covers and have a good time—and that's exactly how it went down. With a reinvigorated sense of purpose, and a band of simpatico players—Brett Grossman on bass, Stephen Haaker on drums, Matt Lomeo on harmonica & backing vocals, Bobby Victor on keys, and Vic Vanacore III on percussion—Petrilli was inspired to start writing again. After several months playing shows around Los Angeles (including opening spots for Billy Bob Thornton & the Boxmasters, The Immediate Family, and a performance at Joe Bonamassa's 3rd Annual Stream-a-thon concert), the new songs felt studio-ready, and Petrilli booked a session at Hollywood's legendary Sunset Sound—the same hallowed ground that has hosted sessions by The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Janis Joplin, Van Halen, Ray LaMontagne and countless others. ************ You can find Angela on FB and Instagram.

Abstract: Despite the intense research, most therapeutic strategies failed in preventing or treating neurodegenerative diseases, characterized by a combination of chronic neurodegeneration, oxidative stress and neuroinflammation. The broad protective activity of IntegroPectin derived from industrial waste grapefruit peel via hydrodynamic cavitation has been recently characterized. In this study, we investigated the beneficial effects of grapefruit IntegroPectin treatment in microglia cells exposed to oxidative stress conditions. Human microglial HMC3 cells were challenged with tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBH), a powerful hydroperoxide, in the presence of grapefruit IntegroPectin. The apoptotic process, the oxidative stress and the neuroinflammatory responses with the relative intracellular cascades were evaluated. Grapefruit IntegroPectin fully counteracted the apoptotic process induced by cell exposure to TBH. The protective effects of grapefruit IntegroPectin were accompanied with a decrease in the amount of ROS, and were strictly dependent on the activation of the PI3K/Akt cascade. Finally, IntegroPectin treatment inhibited basal microglia activation and the neuroinflammatory response by down-regulating the PI3K-NF-kB- iNOS cascade. These findings reveal that the innovative IntegroPectin exerts a potent protective activity on microglia cells and strongly support further investigations aimed at exploring its therapeutic role in in vivo models of neurodegenerative disorders. Beniamino Pagliaro"Boomers contro Millennials"7 bugie sul futuro e come iniziare a cambiareHarperCollinshttps://harpercollins.itSette luoghi comuni. Sette bugie. Link to bioRxiv paper: http://biorxiv.org/cgi/content/short/2023.01.30.526321v1?rss=1 Authors: Rupert, D. D., Pagliaro, A. H., Choe, J., Shea, S. D. Abstract: Mutations in MECP2 cause the neurodevelopmental disorder Rett syndrome. MECP2 codes for methyl CpG binding protein 2 (MECP2), a transcriptional regulator that activates genetic programs for experience-dependent plasticity. Many neural and behavioral symptoms of Rett syndrome may result from dysregulated timing and threshold for plasticity. As a model of adult plasticity, we examine changes to auditory cortex inhibitory circuits in female mice when they are first exposed to pups; this plasticity facilitates behavioral responses to pups emitting distress calls. Brain-wide deletion of Mecp2 alters expression of markers associated with GABAergic parvalbumin interneurons (PVin) and impairs the emergence of pup retrieval. We hypothesized that loss of Mecp2 in PVin disproportionately contributes to the phenotype. Here we find that deletion of Mecp2 from PVin delayed the onset of maternal retrieval behavior and recapitulated the major molecular and neurophysiological features of brain-wide deletion of Mecp2. We observed that when PVin-selective mutants were exposed to pups, auditory cortical expression of PVin markers increased relative to that in wild type littermates. PVin-specific mutants also failed to show the inhibitory auditory cortex plasticity seen in wild type mice upon exposure to pups and their vocalizations. Finally, using an intersectional viral genetic strategy, we demonstrate that postdevelopmental loss of Mecp2 in PVin of the auditory cortex is sufficient to delay onset of maternal retrieval. Our results support a model in which PVin play a central role in adult cortical plasticity and may be particularly impaired by loss of Mecp2. Copy rights belong to original authors. You might say Anthony Pagliaro has done a little of everything. He has been a volunteer firefighter and an EMT. A medical assistant, a phlebotomist, and a registered nurse. A nutritionist, a personal trainer, and a wellness coach. An MMA fighter and an Air Force vet. And he's also an actor and a stuntman, with credits that include work as Chris Pratt's stand-in. As he goes from one challenge to the next, what's the one thing that helps him maximize his body and mind? CBD. But that wasn't always the case. “I never believed in CBD,” he recalls. “I never believed in the whole ‘marijuana's going to save you' this and that. I thought of it as ‘You're getting high. Leave me the h*** alone.” As a pro fighter and nurse who was used to getting randomly drug tested, Anthony wasn't interested. Until his work within the wellness space ultimately changed his mind and opened his eyes to the healing powers of CBD. On this episode of Good Dudes Grow, Gary, and Anthony talk about the need to keep not only your body but your mind sharp as a fighter, how Anthony came to advocate for CBD as a tool for wellness, and what some of his best “backstage” stories from acting are (hint: they star the drinking talents of a couple of notable actors). What You'll Learn: How Arby kicked his pharmaceutical addiction How we can ensure the plant stays in the people's hands (and not in Big Pharma's) Why Arby thinks the hemp industry can help solve some of the planet's climate problems And much more! Favorite Quote: “Being a nutritionist, being a wellness coach, being a nurse, I'm there to help. But if I can get your mindset there before doing anything else, everything else is going to fall in place. Because you can be doing an exercise, I can be teaching an exercise, and you could be doing it — or you could be really doing it.” Anthony Pagliaro Connect With Anthony: Facebook How to get involved: Gary Roberts, the host of the Good Dudes Grow podcast, is the founder and CEO of Pure Body Zen, a company based not only around creating and selling high-quality CBD products, but one that is on a mission to change the landscape on how mental health and addiction are treated. Gary has founded a non-profit called Promises Recovery Centers for those who need it as well as created the first-ever educational training facility for Physicians, Therapists, and Mental Health advocates using innovative therapeutics like psilocybin, Mdma, and LSD. From July 2013:B.J. is your self-appointed tour guide for a trip through the more remote provinces of the seventies rock scene in Canada. Beauty! From January 2016:Michel Pagliaro is a one of a kind artist and in terms of seventies rock and the advent of power pop he was a true visionary. Famous in Quebec but virtually unknown outside of that French Canadian province, Pagliaro made music ahead of its time and yet with obvious universal appeal. On this episode BJ actually has a conversation with this elusive figure in the history of rock music. Many thanks to Simon Fauteux and Six Media Marketing for making this happen!

Ninguna causa, ninguna idea, ninguna utopía ... me haría renunciar a ti. ----
