Born in New York City, Meskil's early exposure to the thriving punk and hardcore scenes of the 1980s heavily influenced his musical direction. Prior to forming Pro-Pain, Meskil was a bassist for the hardcore band Crumbsuckers, which laid the foundation for his future endeavors in the heavy music genre.In 1991, Meskil founded Pro-Pain with the intention of creating a band that combined the aggression and intensity of hardcore punk with the heavy riffing and technical proficiency of metal. Suffering can take us down one of two roads as followers of Jesus: it can build our character, or it can drive us back to our old ways of sinning. 1 Peter 4:1 says, "Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin." When we fix our eyes on Him and base our hope in His promises, God gifts us the strength to persevere through our pain and endure our struggles.

Suffering can either build us up in character or take us down by driving us to revert back to old sin. God will give us the strength to endure through the suffering and we are called to soldier on and keep our hope in Him.
