The house on Camp Avenue is now for sale again – but they say it still holds the screams of six murdered children — and their father's shadow still lingers, reliving the nightmare again and again.DISCLAIMER: Ads heard during the podcast that are not in my voice are placed by third party agencies outside of my control and should not imply an endorsement by Weird Darkness or myself. *** Stories and content in Weird Darkness can be disturbing for some listeners and intended for mature audiences only. Send us a text Slam the Gavel welcomes Ronda Gonzalez Atkins to the podcast. We discussed Kia Walker's podcast (Season 5, Episodes 77 and 112) and how similar the treatment of Kia was to others in Winnebago County, Rockford, IL. We discussed Sheriff Stephen Schumaker's behaviors entangled in eight different Civil Suits. Why is this behavior allowed to continue? In 2023, an officer shot a father 12 times with his 8 year-old son present in the house. Ronda discussed the conditions of the Winnebago County jail. Also there was a usage of a logo of a skull called, "The Punisher," by the Tactical Team for Drug and Gang Crime. When the ACLU became involved in 2017 that logo was removed. Now, The Rockford Police Department is under the command of Chief Carla Redd. Chief Redd served 23 years, beginning as a patrol officer until becoming Chief in 2021. She is cleaning up the police department, finding body-cam footage and holding those responsible for wrongdoing, while weeding out the troublemakers. We also discussed the officers with exemplary records, there are still good officers out there. We discussed the fatal shooting of Sonya Massey in the state of Illinois when she called 911 asking for help.To Reach Ronda Gonzalez Atkins: grssgrn2@gmail.com Supportshow(https://www.buymeacoffee.com/maryannpetri)Maryann Petri: dismantlingfamilycourtcorruption.comhttps://www.tiktok.com/@maryannpetriFacebook: https://www.youtube.com/@slamthegavelpodcasthostmar5536Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/guitarpeace/Pinterest: Slam The Gavel Podcast/@guitarpeaceLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/maryann-petri-62a46b1ab/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@slamthegavelpodcasthostmar5536 Twitter https://x.com/PetriMaryann*DISCLAIMER* The use of this information is at the viewer/user's own risk. America, a non-profit dedicated to promoting the values of; freedom, responsibility, liberty and duty.John and his wife, Myrna, both Rockford, IL natives, have been married for 61 years and are the proud parents of two daughters and two grandchildren. John served in the United States Air Force for 37 years and retired as a Major General in 1994. He was a fighter pilot who flew 97 combat missions in Vietnam, before being shot down, captured by the North Vietnamese, and held as a POW in the infamous Hanoi Hiton for 6 1/2 years. His many awards include: a Silver Star, two Distinguished Flying Crosses, three Bronze Stars with V for Valor, and two Purple Hearts among a host of other accolades. John is author of the book:Taps On The Walls: Poems From The Hanoi HIlton. The book includes a collection of stories and poems John shared with his fellow POWs, by literally tapping on the prison walls, one letter at a time. He credits these poems with helping maintain his sanity and connection to friends and loved ones. He was able to record and memorialize the poems shortly after his release in 1973. With the encouragement of others, including the late Senator John McCain, a fellow POW, he published the poems in 2013, on the 40 year anniversary of their release as POWs. John is also founder and chairman of SOS America, a non profit patriotic, membership organization that supports a military service program for our young adults that augments the high cost of the All Volunteer Forces (AVF) of the U.S. Military. John also has a blog entitled The Third Degree, a weekly Sunday column that relies on the good judgment of the American people to make informed decisions for themselves and the nation. TTD, however, in keeping with its definition, reserves the right to pose hard questions on personal and public subjects worthy of interrogation. It's an inspiring conversation, especially as we go into Memorial Day Weekend, here on the SFN Dad to Dad Podcast.Show Links - Email - john@third-degreeUS.comWebsite – https://third-degreeus.com/LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-borling/Taps On The Walls: Poems From The Hanoi Hilton - https://tinyurl.com/3rp278c3Special Fathers Network - SFN is a dad to dad mentoring program for fathers raising children with special needs. Today in 1992, it's said the first picture book featuring a sock monkey was published. But where did the sock monkey itself show up? That was decades earlier, in the Illinois city of Rockford - or, as it's sometimes called, Sockford. Plus: today in 1929, the UK newspaper known as The Sphere published an eye-catching photo of storefront mannequins melting in the London heat. #MujeresEnLaMusica #PodcastDeMusica #JulietaVenegas --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/musica-con-m-de-mujer/support

Welcome to Phantoms & Monsters 'Personal Reports' - cryptid & unexplained accounts directly from the archives of Phantoms & Monsters, and the Phantoms & Monster Fortean Research team. Narrated by Lon Strickler. Join us in the chat, discuss, and ask me questions about the accounts. Featured in this edition: In 2018, the Chicago winged humanoid phenomenon spread deeper into the suburbs & neighboring states. One region in particular, in & around the city of Rockford, in north central Illinois, was the hub for several weird & unexplained sightings & encounters, This presentation will examine each of these reports. Next week, I will detail more curious aspects of the phenomenon, including the possibility that other cryptids & humanoids may be involved. The winged humanoid was first dubbed the 'Chicago Phantom,' but the media and the internet preferred the moniker 'Chicago Mothman.' I will describe the reports and incidents in detail and answer all questions from the chat room. On today's episode of Bass Fishing for Noobs we talk with Tim Hamilton, owner of Bass-Ett Baits out of Rockford IL. Tim got started in bait making back in the 70's before the internet even existed. Tim dives right in how he first started using silicone molds before aluminum molds were all the rage, which gave him a head start when plastic baits, especially paddle tails were the most sought after bait at the time. Through the years he's learned its not always easy, as he's dealt with 3rd degree burns to even passing out from the noxious fumes of the plastic material itself. But technology has come a long way and now has more eco friendly plastic making material and endless customizing materials at your fingertips. Tim now has anglers all across the nation he has that not only uses his baits exclusively, but has helped several local high school bass fishing teams make it to the top 10 state finals. Want to get started in pouring your own plastics? It's not the cheapest to get going, like most things when it comes to fishing, but starting off with a handful of different molds, you can create to your hearts delight.
