For a Woman by Dick SnyderThis mob storybook navigates nostalgia, a blood fight on the dance floor, a future recast, and three characters as they come together to revive a fading star. It's one of those fiction books that deals with loyalty and betrayal while navigating mob deals.Shontel, a beautiful black woman, realizes her star is fading in the entertainment world. Can a 35th high school reunion and former high school sweethearts reunite to a reimagined career, or will it end in a mobster's trunk? Once a lover to Trey and then to Bobby, the trio hopes to rejuvenate her fading career and give them all a new focus on life. What they need are a screenplay and money. Trey leverages his experience to provide the first, while Bobby draws upon his expertise to create mob deals to tap some cash. They find a new reality within weeks, discovering that mob money chokes, perhaps more than it provides. They adopt new strategies to create Shontel's re-entry to fame. For a woman is one of those suspenseful fiction books written in the first person that incorporates interracial relationships and the mob to draw readers in with every turn of the page.Dick Snyder b. That's right ladies and gents, we keep getting bigger and better. (And you know it too or else you wouldn't be reading this!) THIS WEEK WE HAVE OUR VERY FIRST SPECIAL GUEST!!! Welcome to the toxic pod Shontel the Wiz! Shontel is a friend of the show, a licensed therapist, and a bit of a fan and she joins us for the debauchery known as MANSWERS, baby! After the most polite intro in recent years, a Quick Question starts us off (5 mins) - Would you rather have a quickie every day, good sex twice a week, or great sex once a week? (B Todd reads it wrong at the top, he's an idiot, but we forgave him. again.)Next we dive in full force to a meat and potatoes dinner of an episode. Iz kicks us off (15 mins) with our first topic as we discuss how to navigate when two people in a relationship have different sex drives. Should one partner raise theirs to satisfy their partner, should they allow their partner to tag out and seek it elsewhere? What are the trade-offs and boundaries? From there we spin to B Todd's affectionate challenge to the men (38 mins)... how can men grow in emotional intelligence? How can we as a whole raise our emotional intelligence. Plus a deep dive into how anger controls us and how to juke that.Lastly Miss CTG poses a question to the group (1h15m) - do nice guys finish last or were they never really nice to begin with? When a screenshot is posted to Al Gore's Internet, the group discusses who's in the wrong when someone gets rejected.Giddy up! It's a great episode you don't want to miss!
Lakers legend, Michael Cooper is joined by author/success story, Shontel Green. Shontel pulled her life off the streets and into entrepreneurship. For more information on how to purchase Green's book, visit: www.mastermindthebook.com PRESS RELEASE: Shontel Greene Releases Her New Book Mastermind: Born a Statistic, Determined to Die a Winner . . . 12 Years Later Baltimore, Maryland Aug 3, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Shontel Greene is pleased to announce the release of her latest book, Mastermind: Born a Statistic, Determined to Die a Winner . . . 12 Years Later. Shontel's transformation of her life is epic as described in this captivating book. Mastermind is the compelling true story of Shontel Adams (Greene). Born and raised in the streets of West Baltimore, Shontel was forced to become a drug dealer at 14 to save her family from losing their home. To get started, she had to convince her uncle who was ‘in the game' to give her the money. She was lured and sucked into the seductive underworld of fast money, fast living, and a fast-paced lifestyle. Getting in was the easy part, but getting out would require a miracle. With her back against the wall, Shontel had to navigate a double life of being a straight-A student with perfect attendance by day and a 17-year-old Drug Queenpin by night. With the grandeur came danger, as she was subjected to robberies, being shot at, kidnapped, and even set up by a close friend. That same uncle who mentored her then wanted her dead. After multiple arrests, Shontel's awakening was from Judge Johnson, who reduced her 20-year sentence to weekend jail during her mandatory college matriculation. Shontel realized books were her saving grace. On her mother's death bed, she begged Shontel to change, and from that moment on, she never sold drugs again. With two Master's degrees and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, she began her life of entrepreneurial success. Shontel's true-life story will take you on a series of highs and lows as she battled her demons; and struggled to endure betrayal, prison, kidnapping, robberies, murder, police corruption, and her parent's drug addiction. Shontel's mastermind helped her get out of the game, turn her life around, and build a legitimate multi-million-dollar business empire. Discover how she gave up the hustling lifestyle to become a true "Boss Chick" by creating a legal multi-million-dollar business empire and is able to enjoy a life of luxury now while also participating in multiple philanthropic ventures to give back to those in need in the inner city. Her motto was, “You can't control the cards you are dealt, but you absolutely can control how you play them.” Shontel was always determined to "Play to win." Shontel has been featured in Black Enterprise magazine as one of the largest growing Black-owned businesses. She has also been featured in Forbes and Power magazine and various TV and news shows.
