In this episode, the FAQ is: Using QR Codes. Are they safe? Today's Destination is: Belfast, Northern Ireland Today's Misstep: My leaky water bottle was in the overhead bin on the airplane. Travel Advice: Secondhand stores in Belfast are good deals. FAQ: Using QR Codes. Are they safe? Answer: When you open a QR code, pay attention to the context and the brand because it could contain a virus or even worse. Be careful when accessing websites on your desktop, laptop, tablet, watch, or phone. Preview the destination before you go there. A QR code from a reputable source is more likely to be safe. It is best to proceed cautiously if you find a QR code in an unsolicited email or on a random website. Criminals have placed stickers over legitimate QR codes in public places like bus stops. Today's destination: Belfast, Northern Ireland https://visitbelfast.com/ The best part of Belfast, in Northern Ireland, is outside the city and exploring the countryside if possible. See the Giants Causeway, a national treasure of 40,000 hexagonal basalt stone columns that are 40 feet tall along the coast. These were formed 50-60 million years ago. For perspective, there are 70 million people in the UK and 2 million people in No Ireland. The UK left the Left EU, but there is still a Land border with Ireland. The overall goal is one nation across the island. It's been mostly peaceful since the 198 Belfast Peace Agreement on Good Friday. The forecast usually calls for rain, so bring your gear. I booked a tour that included many of the Game of Thrones locations, and I have never seen the films, so I was not very impressed. However, I'm told that scenic, narrow roads and unusual serpentine beech trees made this series memorable. It's an atmospheric tree tunnel and a little bit spooky; on my tour, with Patrick as a guide, we made many stops for castles, caves from 400 million years ago, Bushmills's Whiskey factory, churches, and pubs. Castle at Carrick Fergis https://discovernorthernireland.com/things-to-do/carrickfergus-castle-p674971 I have relatives from Northern Ireland's Counties Leitrim and Louth, and my grandparents used to vacation along the Antrim coast and Glens National Landscape, a legacy of the Ice Age. I felt a tug of my ancestors here as I walked around a few graveyards in the countryside. I enjoyed Queen's University, the Botanic Gardens, the Ulster Museum, and Saturday Food and Craft Markets in the city. The Troubles Museum at Queen's University was really good. Its full name is the Museum of the Troubles and Peace. It's worth your visit, and it's free. http://museumofthetroubles.org/ You can read about the conflicts between the English and the Irish. I heard about them growing up, as my grandfather was born in Ireland. I can have dual citizenship, which is very common among the locals here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulster_Museum On my next trip to Belfast, I will visit the following: Titanic museum Black Taxi Cab Political Murals Tour The Crown Pub https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/northern-ireland/the-crown-bar/visiting-the-crown-bar Sandy Row: What is it? It's part of the turbulent history of Belfast. https://belfastmedia.com/the-turbulent-19th-century-history-of-belfast-s-sandy-ro Maybe by then, I will have watched Game of Thrones. https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/northern-ireland/giants-causeway If you need special accessibility help, you can find wheelchair-accessible tours in the show notes. https://www.getyourguide.com/belfast-l442/wheelchair-accessible-tc239/ What else is there in Belfast? Fairies https://www.wildernessireland.com/blog/irish-folklore-fairies/ Today's Misstep: I had a leaky water bottle in the plane's overhead compartment. Tighten the seal on the water container. Mine leaked. I was on a plane and put the container in the overhead compartment. It leaked through my water container into another passenger's luggage on the flight. I was embarrassed to say anything but hoped nothing was ruined. Sorry about that. Today's Travel Advice- Secondhand shops in Belfast have good deals. One of the hardest things to do as a realtor is building leads. Sometimes, your methods get you five new clients a week; other times, you receive none. But in this episode of “The Real Estate Sales Podcast,” you'll discover 24 valuable methods to generate leads for real estate businesses. With the current market environment, having a steady flow of leads is crucial for success. Jimmy provides insightful strategies to help businesses grow and succeed in today's real estate landscape. Using QR Codes to Attract Buyers QR codes have become more prevalent in the real estate industry, especially during the pandemic. They can be used on listings to provide additional details, capture leads, and promote content such as untold secrets for first-time homebuyers or crucial investor knowledge. Producing Real Estate Searchable YouTube Videos Utilizing YouTube, the second largest search engine, to create location-specific content can attract potential buyers and sellers. Generating informative videos about neighborhoods, home selling tips, and local real estate trends can help establish credibility and attract leads. Rocket Home Leads Jimmy introduces Rocket Home Leads, a lead generation tool where agents pay a referral fee at closing instead of upfront costs. This platform connects agents with pre-approved buyers who are actively searching in their area, providing a potential source for new leads. Reengaging the Database Reconnecting with existing leads who may have become stagnant is essential. Sending personalized messages to reengage potential clients can reignite interest and lead to new opportunities. Sending Unsolicited Video CMAs Personalized video CMAs can effectively showcase an agent's expertise and commitment to providing exceptional service. This method helped Jimmy generate over $11 million worth of listings in just a few months, demonstrating its effectiveness in lead generation. Hosting Open Houses With an increasing number of people attending open houses, hosting these events can attract potential buyers and sellers. Promoting open houses to the local community and following up with attendees can lead to new leads and listing opportunities. Reaching out to Airbnb Owners Engaging with Airbnb owners presents an opportunity to explore potential real estate transactions. Some owners may consider selling or acquiring additional properties, making them valuable leads for real estate agents. Utilizing the Redfin Referral Network The Redfin Referral Network allows agents to receive leads without upfront costs, paying a referral fee at closing instead. This platform can potentially connect agents with motivated buyers and sellers, expanding their lead pool. Geographical Farming Establishing expertise and consistency in a specific neighborhood can lead to a steady flow of listing opportunities. Jimmy emphasizes the importance of becoming the go-to expert in a particular area for potential leads and referrals. Utilizing Chat GPT for SEO-Optimized Property Posts Leveraging AI tools such as Chat GPT to create search engine-optimized social media posts for property listings can significantly enhance visibility and engagement, attracting potential leads. These are only ten lead generation methods, but if you want to hear more, be sure to listen to this TRES podcast episode. The discussion over the percentage of iPhones that get upgraded to the latest version, and why that is important, continues with Chuck Joiner, David Ginsburg, Eric Bolden, Brittany Smith, Jeff Gamet, Mark Fuccio, Andrew Orr, and Jim Rea. It isn't just customers who make that decision; there are aspects of developers' support of new system software version that you may not be aware of. This episode is for all of you who are curious about QR codes. When the pandemic hit restaurants used them so we could quickly see the digital menu. Then the 7-million-dollar Superbowl ad ran with nothing but a QR code bouncing around the screen. 20 million hits in a minute! Yeah. What gives? That's what I'm diving into today. QR codes. What are they, how to use them, and more. What are QR codes? QR stands for quick response. The code is an encrypted square (sometimes other shapes) that you can scan with your phone. The code holds information and scanning it gives you access. How can you create a QR code? You can create a code using a code-generator. There are 2 types, static and dynamic. Hear the different pros and cons of each to determine which would work best for your application. What can you do with your QR code? There are a lot of options. One of the easiest is asking for reviews. With a QR code you can send customers directly to your Google My Business Page to rate and review your services. Another common use is out of home advertising. Think busses, billboards and signs in public spaces. What can small business owners in the digital space do with QR codes? Here's a few ideas to get you started: Networking and connections. Have a QR code that takes someone to your contact info, or directly to your social media platform of choice so it's easy for them to follow you. Send people to an opt-in page to get your pdf. Use a QR code as a content upgrade to your in-person presentation. Tip: if cell phone coverage might be a concern, have a plan B as well. Put your code into your Zoom background. Talk about making it easy! Add them to your YouTube videos. Remember this is for those who watch on TV, tablets or a laptop so they will be able to scan the code with their phone. Think about the experience. People will be using their phone so make sure the destination page is easy to read, and don't make them click around to find what they are looking for. One of the best things? This is the ultimate in quick gratification. It's fast, easy, and immediate. Another bonus: no typing! Here are a few more ideas: Create a playlist. You can share his on your site, in an email, or printed materials. Hello Audio allows for private podcast feeds. You can share this with everyone or as a bonus for your members or course attendees. How cool is that? Special content just for them! QR code as part of invoicing! Make it easy to get paid. Once you decide how you want to use your code, her are a few options for creating one. Think about what you need. Will you want to collect data? Then you'll need a paid version. You can then make data informed decisions when you see what works best. Find an easy way to get started. Once you see the options, you'll find even more ways to make this simple to use technology work for you. Options: QR Code Monkey QR Code Generator Flowcode Learn more about your ad choices. Welcome to a new episode of Free Teacher PD: Part 1 of Using QR Codes to Engage Students, with Carol Nelson. Quick Response codes, or QR codes, have sometimes been referred to barcodes on steroids. These small digitized squares are used for storing encoded information into a small, two-dimensional space that can be read by Smartphones and other handheld devices, such as iPads, web cameras, or QR readers. Originally they were used in the automotive industry, but QR codes are not just for car parts anymore. In this and the next podcast episode, you will discover how to create QR codes to use in your classroom. Simple, free QR generators allow you to create codes that can link to YouTube, text, SMS, email, URLs, and more. Learn how this technology can be used to engage students in a variety of learning activities and resources, such as scavenger hunts, checking answers, providing supplemental materials or tutorials, promoting school or class events, and a host of other applications. QR codes are a great way to integrate technology with a real-world application. So… Let’s get learning!
In this small business marketing episode, Liza Choa shares with Gabriel from Sydney Sports Car Hire a great tip on how Using QR Codes helps businesses to Create Customer Incentives. Did you know you can use a QR code to help create customer incentives for your business? Not sure what it is or how it works...well thats the easy part. A QR (quick response) code is simply an image that can be scanned using a mobile device and takes your customer to a place of your designation....be it your website, a landing page for a special offer, your Facebook page to drive more fans, or any other site on the internet that has a URL or link. What are the benefits of using QR codes? They're easy to use, you can create them in seconds and they're everywhere....its a growing trend Its convenient as you can attach a QR code almost anywhere you like as long as its visible and able to be scanned using a mobile device (iPhone, Android, tablet, iPad, etc) You can create a QR code once and it can serve you hundreds if not thousands of times in the future, as it does the same job over and over again....and that is to take your customer to where you want them to go - i.e. your website or Facebook Create incentives for your customers to access, i.e. a QR code could represent a free glass of house wine for two with any dinner purchase over $40, if you were in the restaurant business, or buy 9, get 1 FREE if you run a cafe Use your mobile application to create multiple QR codes for different occasions or circumstances and instantly have these go out to your customer base Avoid the need for paper based coupons or pamphlets - imagine the $$$ savings on printing You will laugh when you find out why 5 Germans got arrested on the Italian border - thanks for sharing Gabriel! Here's a detailed information about Using QR Code to Create Customer Incentives: http://smallbusinessmarketingmastery.com.au/using-qr-code-to-create-customer-incentives/ We would like to thank Gabriel Sydney Sports Car Hire Alexandria for participating in this episode.
