Rebecca's episode three guest is Briony Gunson, a mindset and business coach, trauma-informed breathwork facilitator and meditation teacher. She's also a breath instructor at @blok gym and part of The Wayward Sisters coaching collective. Since being in a very high-pressured job at an agency a few years ago, Briony has been on her own journey with mental health and that led her to helping others in the business she has built for herself today. Rebecca first 'met' Briony online, following her breathwork with fascination, attending some incredible sessions. Many people say breathwork can be as impactful as psychedelics and it was definitely a trippy and profound experience for Rebecca. Plus, you have the best sleep ever!Rebecca also attended Briony's retreat in Wales last month, co-hosted with craig_seatono2, called Create Your Own Reality (see the images and videos from that weekend on Rebecca's Instagram page). Briony's work in person left an even bigger impact on Rebecca, not just her amazing breathwork and meditation practices, and her coaching-based skills that can help people so much in their careers, but her own wisdom and way of seeing the world during fireside chats, cold water swims and forest hikes. It was all magical and it definitely lived up to its name!Follow Briony and Same Shit, Different Brain on social:https://www.instagram.com/brionygunson/?hl=enhttps://twitter.com/BrionyGunsonhttps://www.instagram.com/sameshitdifferentbrain/?hl=enhttps://www.facebook.com/SameShitDifferentBrainPodcast

It's the Supernatural Finale Anniversary Special! Natalie and Cass are joined by Liliana, host of the Supernatural podcast St Alphonso's Academy of Squee and recent guest contributor here on Subjectify, to talk about the Supernatural series finale, and what the hell has happened since, a year after it all ended. Join us for a very special and very long celebration slash mourning slash something as we hype and gripe the demise of the show, air our worries about what's become of the fandom, and beg the cast and crew to just be normal about gay people. These shownotes are going to have a bit of a different structure to our usual here on Not About The Weather, for three reasons: a) this is an extremely long episode, b) it's probably going to be listened to by people other than our normal audience, and c) there may be parts that you want to hear and parts that you don't. So for the first time ever, we're including a detailed list of time stamps. We respect that some fans do not want to engage with any positivity about the Supernatural finale, however Not About The Weather is always structured to include both a "Hype" and "Gripe" from each host about their topic of choice, and, although no one here loves the finale, all the hosts on this episode have tried to take it in good faith. If you don't want to listen to our finale-related hypes - especially if you are triggered by Dean's death - that is all good. We don't really talk about it in detail, but everyone on this episode does accept that plot point as well as the Heaven endgame. We'd appreciate it if you keep things civil and don't come for our throats about the fact we don't have a moral objection to it. Just feel free to skip straight to 1 hour 30 mins to hear our grievances - that's where stuff starts getting really passionate, particularly the 45 minute segment griping about the attitude shift to "interpret" Castiel's queerness away. Good times. Here's the detailed breakdown by time stamp: 0m 30s - Introduction of hosts. 6m 53s - We recap the plot of the Supernatural finale in the off chance any listeners haven't seen it. 11m 40s - Most people we know hate the finale very badly, and wanted or were expecting a happier ending where everyone lives a good life finally free of Chuck. We agree this was a very desirable ending, however, we do not hate the finale as much as some people do - in part because we were anticipated something much worse. We check in on how Liliana is feeling about it these days. 15m 21s - We get the aim of Dean's death, but we don't have to like it. But we all agree that Sam's ending was possibly the worst of them all, just in terms of what it implied about his character's personality and growth and decency and all that. Even though they died, Dean and Cas both felt landed and whole, as characters. Sam's ending was just depressing. 20m 55s - Even though that she didn't expect it to happen, Natalie believes that after 15 years, the show definitely could have gotten away with a happier ending while still remaining authentic to the Winchesters' journey, but we suspect that, for whatever reason, the powers that be just did not see a happier ending as truthful to what Supernatural is all about, despite the characters having earned it. 24m 59s But surprisingly, the finale was still a happier ending than Cass and Natalie expected. Regarding Castiel in particular, the bar was on the floor - we believed Misha wasn't coming back, and we were expecting a cruel, tragic utter lack of resolution that implied he would be stuck in the Empty having trauma dreams forever. Hypes 28m 50s - The overall Chuck as the writer villain plot and how it has recolored the whole show from the very beginning. The best thing about the Chuck twist was that it gave us, as viewers, a whole new show. Supernatural, from day one, is a brand new experience, knowing the truth about Chuck, and it makes the whole thing that much better. Is there a chance that Ben Edlund had this idea in mind way back in the day? 46m 30s - The redux, repair and freeing of Heaven as seen in the finale. Over the years, we weren't sure if the show was aware of how messed up their version of Heaven was, but setting it right or changing what happens to human souls after they die was a huge priority for us as fans, because no matter whether we saw the boys die or not in the finale, they are human and will one day eventually die. We support that the finale showed us this, and feel we wouldn't have trusted it if it wasn't via Dean. We really hope that fandom will get interested in exploring more Heaven-based fic sometime soon. 1hr 11m 25s - The fact that so many former SPN cast members and writers are killing it in their careers - it's been a joy to watch because of course it's a huge group after 15 years, but a lot of them are reaching new heights (Kathryn & Shoshannah with Marvel, J2's shows, Misha's many pursuits, Ruthie & Mark S on Doom Patrol, Rich directing lots of TV) and how it's just lovely to see them thriving professionally while still remaining part of our community. Gripes 1hr 33m 08s - The cancellation of Wayward Sisters. Yes, we're still mad about it, but it's relevant today because we believe that if that show had been running in tandem with Supernatural, the Supernatural finale endgame would be entirely different. We feel absolutely certain that if Wayward had been picked up, none of the boys would've died at the end. 1hr 44m 48s - The COVID finale. If we're going to hate the finale, we want to at least hate the real version. We believe that the same plot points may have felt different if a different tone was taken, and the fact that there will always be a big asterisk next to the finale in terms of what it was meant to be, is infuriating. And don't get us started on Misha's absence. Plus, even if we didn't love the finale, the show deserved to get to do what it really wanted to do - not be hobbled by a pandemic. 2hr 02m 49s - The fact that people continue to invalidate the Destiel confession a year later. It was gay, it was romantic, just let us have it. Even the cast are walking back previous statements, which is really disappointing. It's dangerous, it's gaslighting, and it's a really bad look for a show with a significant queer fanbase. We really don't like that the concept of art being "open to interpretation" - a good concept that we agree to in theory - is being weaponized to basically say "if this character being queer upsets you, you can explain it away." 2hr 46m 19s - Two Truths and a Lie: Cass Edition, about Old Fandom Lore 2hr 54m 14s - Ask NATW Anything: “What do you all feel is the most important fandom shift post-finale? Do you think there has been one?” Let's just say we have a LOT to unleash for this one, including the loss of conventions, the puriteen police, and the fact that people still aren't ready to have differing finale opinions without getting extremely combative or traumatized. Liliana addresses plenty of this in the article she shared on Subjectify for the anniversary as well. 3hr 18m 30s - Bonus Ask NATW Anything: “What did I ever do to deserve this?” We apologize to a dear friend and explain how we three all met and spent time together at 2018 JIBCon in Rome. Christine Baranski was involved. She currently has two children's graphic novels out now from HMH Kids, her debut, Oh My Gods! and ParaNorthern, which just recently came out.  A sequel to Oh My Gods! is scheduled to be released in January 2022. Not to worry though, all of Cecil's broadcasting equipment floats, so he'll keep broadcasting while sitting atop his radio desk. In a lake of blood. (Wonderful image though. Seriously, fan artists, can someone get on that?) After the recap we talk about how Elizabeth can't get judgey about Kathryn not seeing Infinity War yet, because Elizabeth hasn't seen anything else. (Seriously, our thoughts on Solo and Deadpool will also go up as soon as we actually see them.) Then it's thoughts on Transformers Earth Wars, DC's Dark Nights, Skyward, Saga, and how Wayward Sisters is out but a spinoff of The Originals is in. (A spinoff of a spinoff. CW, can you please stop the Vampire Diaries ride, we'd like to get off.) The outro music this week was a clip from You Can Dance? by Steve Combs. http://freemusicarchive.org/music/Steve_Combs/Speaking_in_Spirals_1809/06_You_Can_Dance We mentioned how we spotted John Warden in the trailer for "The Toys That Made Us," we've interviewed him twice, once in 2016 https://pixelatedgeek.com/2016/08/sdcc-2016-interview-with-hasbro-transformers-generations/ and once in 2017. https://pixelatedgeek.com/2017/08/sdcc-2017-interview-with-the-hasbro-transformers-design-team/ Correction: we wondered in the episode if they'd filmed any of Wayward Sisters, and they did have a "backdoor pilot" within the regular Supernatural Season. Hello and welcome to our conversation about S13E10 - Wayward Sisters! What's that, you remember us covering Wayward Sisters before? Well, we did, but we're doing it again for a couple of reasons. The big one is that we didn't really have the context to talk about the episode at the time it came out, since we were way back in S6, and we didn't really get into the details of the episode like we're doing nowadays. Don't worry, I checked, and we only repeated about 60% of our jokes. Monster of the Week is on Patreon (https://patreon.com/monsteroftheweek)! Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 27th episode of "VideoFuzzy," my twice-monthly progress report on cataloging more than 2,700 VHS transfers and digital recordings. In this installment, titled "Digging Dirt" I stitch together a second season episode of the FX series "Dirt," in which paparazzo Don Konkey is attacked and tied up in a Senate candidate's sex dungeon. Highlights include some fraught family dynamics and a peek at the early career of Evan Peters. In my Classic Collection I encounter cool episodes of "Rescue Me," "Psych" and "The 4400" and a BBC America production of Hellen Mirren in "Calendar Girls." Also, I'm finding episodes of the second season of "The Riches." My Current Collection turned up a few movies, a few mid-season episodes from "American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace" and some season 11 episodes of "The X-Files," which I discovered may only be about half the actual season, but I've decided is all I'm going to need of that show. In What I've Been Watching, comments on the 12th season of "Supernatural" and some followup news on "Wayward Sisters." Also, Michael Bay's "The Island," comments on "Legion" and "Deadpool 2" was awesome. Finally, I'm still planning a special episode for my first year anniversary in June, and if anyone wants to be part of that, contact me through my Facebook page or email audio or video files to tjaman1970@yahoo.com.

We're now at that weird time between show seasons. With Summer shows around the corner and most shows coming to an end, what sorta batshit crazy things are we going to be watching over the next month? That is the question. In the meantime, The Network UpFronts are done and it seems that the Red Wedding has come to Fox. The network almost killed all of their comedies. But at least Stiffler is coming to "Lethal Weapon" ... right? NEWS HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK: Clayne Crawford has been replaced by Seann William Scott for Season 3 of "Lethal Weapon." It's unclear what will happen to Riggs in the story, but Scott will come in as a new unruly cop character for Damon Wayans' Murtaugh to team up with. Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon will return as Cord and Tish to cover the Royal Wedding on HBO. It's titled "The Royal Wedding Live with Cord and Tish!" and will premiere May 19 at 7:30 pm. Jordan Peele will executive produce a new 10-episode nazi-hunting series for Amazon called "The Hunt." Set in the 1970s, the series "starts from a vaguely real-world premise—former Nazis living undercover in New York—and quickly gets TV-show-over-the-top with it, suggesting that the “hundreds” of secret Germans are plotting the rise of a “Fourth Reich” in the heart of the Big Apple." According to Entertainment Weekly, "Arrested Development's" 16-episode fifth season will be split into two halves, with one premiering May 29 and the other coming by the end of the year. Netflix is getting in on the horror anthology trend with a new series, "Guillermo del Toro Presents 10 After Midnight." According to Variety, Del Toro will serve as executive producer on the series, and reportedly wants to write and direct select “equally sophisticated and horrific” episodes himself; the rest will come from writers and filmmakers personally selected by the director. "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." has been renewed for a sixth season.  According to AV Club, "the show will return for a 13-episode run next summer, most likely giving viewers a nice gap between the May release of Avengers 4 and the show’s season premiere. This way, half of the cast can still be obliterated and then resurrected without undercutting whatever the movie does to pull it off—which we’re all guessing involves time travel, right?" Batwoman will make her debut in CW's next Superhero crossover event. This will be the first time any of the "Arrow"-related shows will be making a direct connection to the Batman universe. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Epix has just ordered 10 episodes of "Pennyworth," a show dedicated to Batman’s butler Alfred when he first began working for Bruce Wayne’s father. The show will emphasize Alfred’s past as a former British SAS officer living in 1960s London, so it will be as far removed from the classic Batman mythology as possible. DC Universe announced a new 13-episode live action series for the streaming service based on "Doom Patrol." A press release from Warner Bros. says "Doom Patrol" will be about a team of super-powered people who have all been scarred and traumatized by various tragedies until someone known as The Chief comes along and enlists them in a mission to investigate 'the weirdest phenomena in existence.'" NOTEWORTHY CANCELLATIONS:Syfy has canceled "The Expanse."CBS: "Kevin Can Wait," "Scorpion," "Superior Donuts" NBC: "Great News," "Rise," "Taken" ABC: "Alex, Inc.," "The Crossing," "Deception," "Designated Survivor," "Quantico," "Kevin (Probably) Saves the World," "Marvel's Inhumans"FOX: "The Exorcist," "Lucifer," "The X-Files" (but there'll be more "Prison Break," apparently?) ABC also passed on "The Greatest American Hero" reboot. The CW canceled their "Supernatural" spinoff series "The Wayward Sisters." "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" was saved from cancellation by NBC, and Fox has resurrected Tim Allen's "Last Man Standing" after canceling practically all its comedies because "The Roseanne Effect" and ... football?  AARON'S LOSER: "Patrick Melrose"JACK'S LOSERS: "Safe" AARON'S FENCERS: "Evil Genius" and "I'm Dying Up Here"JACK'S FENCERS: "All Night," "Evil Genius," "Patrick Melrose" AARON'S WINNERS: "Dear White People," "Westworld," "Barry" and "Killing Eve"JACK'S WINNERS: "Barry," "Westworld," "The Handmaid’s Tale," "Ali Wong: Hard Knock Wife" and Little Women" Be sure to subscribe on iTunes and comment! Leah who loves this show and has seen every episode tries to guide Bryant into the world of Supernatural with the quickest re-telling of the 13 seasons to explain the context of the show - but fails as a superfan by trying to oversimplify and making some silly mistakes.. saving people, hunting things... We are joined by Tim Huskey, artist extraordinaire, and Doyle Daniels, one of our amazing patreon supporters!! In the last half of the episode, during the #popcultureclassic segment, we speak with Dayna Himot, from the Not Sufferin' Sapphos podcast, plus John Clyde Still from the Old Still Radio show! Our #popcultureclassic for this show is the amazingly horrible, Phantasm!! While Gabe tries to convince us all that the tall man, and this movie, are amazing, the rest of us remember otherwise. John Clyde Still tries to get to know Dayna a little bit more, and other randomness infect this segment!! But, we do remember this movie with fond memories, and that is about as far as the "fondness" goes.   We have one amazing interview, with returning guest, Allison O'Toole! Her love for monsters, and ours, brings her back for round 2, talking about her project, Wayward Sisters! This anthology was a crowd funding success, with 128% funding!! "Wayward Sisters celebrates lady and non-binary monsters who are indelicate, impolite, and irresponsible. 25 different stories, and 38 different writers, ALL about different monsters, I promise you'll fall in love!! Former Toronto Comics Anthology and current Chapterhouse Publishing editor Allison O'Toole returns to Speech Bubble with a groundbreaking new project. Wayward Sisters: An Anthology of Monstrous Women features an all-female and non-binary cast of comic creators telling monster stories from their own perspectives. Following in the footsteps of other recent comic anthologies written and drawn from a minority point-of-view, Wayward is still something the mainstream comic industry has never seen, much less attempted, at a time when new readers are hungering for something more. Allison brings her assistant editor and former Marvel intern Margot Blankier and contributor Lorena Loaiza to the studio and the three discuss their love of The Gothic, why work like this is needed now and has already proven profitable and how this anthology widens the definition of monster to those who are already perceived that way by society. The Comics Alternative is launching a brand new weekly series devoted to independent, small-press, and creator-owned Kickstarter campaigns that are comics-related. Every Saturday morning you'll hear a brief conversation with a creator, or creative team, with a Kickstarter campaign underway, where Derek talks with them about their project, the story behind their ideas, the various levels of support, and why listeners should back their efforts. Since the vast majority of creators on Kickstarter are self-publishing or with very small presses, it just makes sense that The Comics Alternative help give voice to these projects. On this inaugural episode of the series, Derek talks with Allison O'Toole about TO Comix Press' Wayward Sisters: An Anthology of Monstrous Women. She serves as the lead editor of this collection, which will include 25 stories from 38 writers and artists. As Allison reveals, what distinguishes this anthology is its focus is on non-binary and female monsters drawn and written by creators from all over the world and who identify as women or gender-nonconforming. It's a fascinating endeavor and worth backing. Be sure to check out their Kickstarter site, and for more information, visit the Wayward Sisters website. Happy Birthday to me -- Aaron here, and in case you're wondering, we recorded Episode 58 on the eve of my 41st birthday. I'm totally still accepting presents, if you feel so inclined. And given the nature of this special event, my lovely wife Kelly joined Jack and myself as our special guest. Get ready for a heaping helping of alcohol, cake and rambling about television. NEWS: Last Friday, Apple poached Sony TV’s co-presidents Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht leading to rumors of layoffs at Sony while also bringing Apple’s presence in the TV game back in a big way.  HBO is once again developing a "Watchmen" TV series, this time with Damon Lindelof -- the showrunner of "Leftovers" (yay!) who is also the writer behind "Prometheus" and some of the dumbest "LOST" episodes (boo!). The CW is once again developing a "Supernatural" spin-off idea. "The Wayward Sisters" would follow Sheriff Jody Mills as she leads a “group of troubled young women, all of them orphaned by supernatural tragedy. Under Mills’ training and protection, these women will emerge as a supreme monster-fighting force.” The plan is to introduce the series via a backdoor pilot episode airing as part of "Supernatural’s" upcoming 13th season. We have a new premiere date for "Star Trek: Discovery": September 24. The series premiere will air on CBS and CBS All Access, with all the following episodes set to air solely on the network’s streaming platform. NBC Universal has officially green-lit a "Downton Abbey" movie. No word yet on which members of the original cast will appear in the film -- it’s set to begin production in 2018. "Sherlock" creators Steven Moffatt and Mark Gatniss are setting their sights on "Dracula." They’re planning to present the series in 90-minute episodes, much like Sherlock, while dipping into the Bram Stoker story. No network is attached as of yet, but it’ll probably go to BBC … right? After an internal investigation, ABC will resume shooting this season of "Bachelor in Paradise" in Mexico. Parent company, Warner Brothers, viewed the tape of the whole thing -- which makes this so much more icky -- the company has decided that no wrong-doing occurred. Contestant Corinne Olympios will be continuing her own investigation through her personal attorney. CMT will not be acquiring "Last Man Standing," after all. The next Spike TV roast will be of Alec Baldwin with Kate McKinnon, Jack McBrayer, Julianne Moore, Jane Krakowski and Tracy Morgan all set to attend. The special will air on July 9. AARON’S LOSERS: "So You Think You Can Dance," "Flaked," "The Ranch" and "The Mist"  JACK’S LOSERS: "Blood Drive"AARON’S FENCERS: "Blood Drive" and "American Gods"JACK’S FENCERS: "Cardinal," "Kevin Hart Presents: The Next Level" and "Legends of Chamberlain Heights"  AARON’S WINNERS: "World of Dance," "Wrecked," "Silicon Valley," "Better Call Saul," "Twin Peaks" and "Preacher"JACK’S WINNERS: "Handmaid’s Tale," "F is for Family" and "T.J. Benita Tyler grew up in San Diego, California where she attended San Diego State University. Throughout her life she realized there was a common denominator between the love she had for children and her desire to help others. She raised six children, and has helped many fallen angels throughout her life’s journey. When she turned fifty she had an epiphany! She realized she was a broken woman who spent the better part of her life wandering aimlessly around trying to find the root cause of her despair. She began to place her thoughts on paper and was able to face her demons. Out of that self-analysis her memoir Addicted to Dysfunction: Released to Live Life Out Loud was born. This led to a passionate writing career and desire to become a life coach. Her second book Put Up or Get Shut Down tells the epic tale of “Salty Dog” her husband’s alter ego who takes you on a journey into the urban motorcycle world. After finding a comfortable place among her peer as a writer she took the next step and penned her first novel Wayward Sisters, an intriguing story about three women whose lives are intertwined by their good and bad choices. They confront their demons by trial and error and eventually live the victorious lives they dreamt about. She has been featured on many internet radio shows and is available for public speaking events. She currently lives in Kokomo, Indiana with her husband and young daughter.  ****We will also host @BrendaEatsLV and learn more about Brenda. See the book blog for yourself at www.eatinglasvegas.me.
