As Hank Berrien at The Daily Wire reported July 6, 2021 - 'Internet Erupts After Biden, Psaki Push ‘Door-To-Door' Plan Targeting Unvaccinated People' - President Biden and White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki both announced that a strike force is in the works to make up for the Biden administration having missed its own benchmarked goal for vaccinating Americans by the Fourth of July. Funny how that is always the way it goes with the Left, Progressives, and Democrats. When the government fails to meet its own metrics, the fault lies with the governed and not the governing. 'Once more with feeling,' the conductor tells our orchestra. This is a dark precedent, though. And despite what wise old King Solomon says in Ecclesiastes - that bit about there being no new thing under the sun - show me when in our national history this sort of thing has been proposed or tried. It ought to be enough that we who are plugged into the news or internet have been hearing about vaccination non-stop for the past year. If we are not yet persuaded as to the efficacy and safety of these products of Operation Warpspeed, coming and knocking on our door to bully or cajole us into getting the shot anyways is disrespectful and a waste of time. He discusses the factors he is focusing on -- and that he thinks investors should be looking for -- as well as the need for independent fundamental analysis of closed-end offerings that he feels the industry currently lacks.

How To Design A Mentoring Programme

This week, Lucinda delivers a solo masterclass in how to design a mentoring programme and make it work for your organisation. Furthermore, why now is the best time to think about implementing such programmes, and how to make sure that your people get the most from learning from others.  KEY TAKEAWAYS Certainly, remote working has meant that people now require different forms of access to development. Mentoring is a marvellous way of creating engagement, whether through one-to-one time or on the job learning. 10% of our learning should come from formal learning. 20% should come from incidental learning, and 70% should come from on the job learning and challenges. Furthermore, the strategic reasons behind why we are setting up a mentorship programme should define the mentors we choose and how they are deployed. Indeed, a good coach need not always be blessed with technical prowess. Their main contribution to development should be as a mirror or sounding board, there to challenge and offer new perspective when needed.. BEST MOMENTS 'We need to find ways in which people have the opportunity to access people' 'Once you've had someone as a mentor, you'll always have a relationship where you can pick up the phone to them' 'Coaching should be more on the "ask" side' 'A coach is there to act as a mirror - as a sounding board. They are there to open up thinking and opportunities'  VALUABLE RESOURCES The HR Uprising Podcast | Apple | Spotify | Stitcher   Join the HR Uprising LinkedIn Group The host of the HR Uprising Podcast, Lucinda Carney, is also the founder and CEO of Actus Software, and author of the best-selling book 'How to be a Change Superhero'. It's a new year with new possibilities ahead! Welcome along to Scale Up Your Business for the year ahead, and with a fresh start in mind, it's time for you to think about boosting those results and taking advantage of the opportunities ahead. In this week's '15 Minutes To Action', Nick gives you some practical guidance that'll energise your spirit and supercharge your plans for 2021. KEY TAKEAWAYS Goal-setting should not be restricted to the tail ends of any given year. Make it an ongoing practice that evolves as we evolve ourselves. We're all affected by the outcomes we've previously received. Results are feedback so keep an eye on what they are telling you and adjust accordingly. If you have strong goals, and you have the why behind the goals, you can get through anything if you take the action, driving you to accomplish. The only way we can decide where we need to be in the future, is to reflect upon where we are today. Take time out to consider and reflect. BEST MOMENTS 'What you know now and what you need to know absolutely affects your life and your goals' 'Seeking out knowledge, working with people who've been there and done that is going to be the catalyst to get me to where I want to be' 'Make sure the biggest pull on your life is not the past. Dr. Gary Fettke shares how he overhauled his health and how he has radically helped patients improve theirs via real food, Low Carb Healthy Fat diets. For complete show notes, visit http://youcuredwhat.com/podcast/garyDr. Gary Fettke is an Australian orthopedic surgeon and a hero of the health and nutrition world. He was silenced for helping his patients with nutritional advice. He was persecuted but he stood strong knowing he was doing what was right, and eventually he was exonerated. But before taking on the establishment with his message emphasizing the importance of real food, he had to heal himself of prediabetes, high blood pressure, inflammatory joint disease, psoriasis, and more. [2:50] "I'm often quoted as saying 'Once you see something, you can't unsee it.' And I've seen the health benefits of changing diet and nutrition for myself and I've seen it for my family and I've seen it for my patients." [4:20] Dr. Fettke shares his "fresh, local, and seasonal whole food" message. He explains that we should reduce processed food and added sugar. This often leads to a low-carbohydrate, Paleo, and/or ketogenic style of diet. [7:30] What is Gary's health background? He was an overweight kid and even had joint aches as a kid. He had a pituitary gland tumor at age 38. He had high blood pressure, skin conditions, and other ailments (metabolic syndrome). He had this type of health while eating a diet largely based on the food pyramid. [10:50] A lightbulb went off for Gary when he realized his tumor showed up on PET scan based on glucose metabolism. It was growing and thriving on sugar. Since then, he often reflects on the Krebs cycle and how our bodies create ATP for energy. [14:10] Gary started out by cutting out sugars. Then he cut out polyunsaturated oils. Then he cut out other carbohydrates. [15:15] In 2013 and 2014, Gary came up with a nutritional model of inflammation. The idea is that the combination of refined carbohydrates, polyunsaturated oils, and fructose cause a highly-inflammatory state in the body. This inflammation sits behind basically every disease and ailment we face. [17:30] Initially, Gary lost about 8 kilos (approximately 20 pounds) without exercise by cutting out sugar. He was inspired by David Gillepsie's book Sweet Poison. [18:50] Gary, a surgeon, performed many amputations of diabetic limbs and digits. His patients were coming in with their limbs rotting off and it bothered him because he now sees it is preventable. [22:25] "I'm infinitely healthier now than I was ten years ago." Gary shares how he came off ten medications. [23:45] Dr. Fettke discusses the problem of the lack of informed consent for lifelong medications which have massive side effects. [25:30] Gary mentions that information about Tracey Brown, the CEO of the American Diabetes Association, improving her diabetes significantly by limiting carbs has been taken offline. [31:05] Gary, paraphrasing his wife Belinda: "You guys are talking about the science. Nobody's listening. Who's blocking that?" [32:00] Gary talks about the importance of SAM: support, accountability, and motivation. [38:10] Gary talks about how eating healthfully allows his patients to take back some level of control over their lives. [39:50] Gary shares a story of a patient: 70-year-old who had horrible arthritic pain and was down to bare bones on X-rays. Gary talked to her about low carb. 3 months later she came back to his office down 12 kilograms (approximately 25 pounds), felt better, and no longer needed surgery. "It's just fascinating for me that someone with bare-bone arthritis can turn around their pain before they lose weight." [41:40] "If you reduce your sugar and carbs, you reduce your insulin production, you reduce your inflammation. It happens within days or weeks successfully, before weight loss." [42:25] Are some of Gary's patients who come in on a reconstructive surgery consult able to avoid the need for surgery altogether? By changing their diet? Spoiler alert: yes. [42:50] Gary shares the major improvement in a 75-year-old patient who had been low carb for 6 weeks: all of her back pain was gone. [43:55] "I'm not saying this cures everyone, I'm not saying that it's the answer for everything. But gee, it's bloody close to it." [44:20] How has real-food, low-carb, healthy-fat diet impacted surgery patients' recovery? [45:30] Gary compares ketosis to the "Safe Mode" of a computer. [45:50] Gary, thinking of his grandchildren, talks a bit about diet and pregnancy. [47:20] Gary works with an elite soldier who spends time in ketosis. Gary asked him how he feels when in ketosis: "cunning" [49:50] "Virtually all of us are carrying around a super-tanker of fuel on our bodies." (Body fat) [50:45] "We've got more potential to take back our health than we've been told. Than we've been led to believe." [52:30] Gary found it odd to learn that his textbooks and professors had been all wrong; he talks about how much is hiding in plain sight. Cristin Milioti is the definition of an entertainer. She's a musician, singer/songwriter, stage performer, Broadway star, and actress - and that's just what we know. She won a Grammy and was nominated for a Tony Award for her breakout performance in the musical adaptation of “Once.” She collaborated with Martin Scorsese on “The Wolf of Wall Street,” and, in television, has had pivotal (in some cases, awards-worthy) roles in “How I Met Your Mother,” “Fargo,” and “Black Mirror.” Milioti has worked hard to ensure the only thing you can expect from her is to be unexpected with the projects she chooses. Typecasting is the last thing the 34-year-old performer wants, and while, early on, some have tried, Milioti has remained steadfast pivoting using her natural talents and diverse skillset. Milioti's latest film is The Lonely Island's 2020 Sundance smash hit "Palm Springs." The film was one of the most talked-about movies at the festival and even broke records selling to Neon and Hulu for $17.5 million and 69 cents, making it the biggest Sundance sale ever. The film follows two strangers, Nyles (Andy Samberg) and Sarah (Milioti), who attend a wedding at Palm Springs only to get stuck inside a time loop unexpectedly. Re-living the wedding day over and over again, the two not only begin to form a budding romance but embark upon an introspective journey. Being a musician first and then actor, Milioti often finds herself thinking musically when it comes to developing her characters. She creates playlists for each of them and believes the kind of music someone listens too can tell you a lot about a person. During our conversation with Cristin Milioti, we discuss her work on the stage, songwriting, the nervousness that comes with singing in front of an audience, "Russian Doll," how never seeing "Groundhog Day" gave her a fresh perspective on "Palm Springs" and much more. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/theplaylist/message

WEEK 4 - King of the UniverseApril 30th - May 6th, 2020 Day 28 - King of the NationsTherefore I will give thanks to You, O LORD, among the nations, And I will sing praises to Your name. (2 Samuel 22:50)Names of God: A Way to Understand His Nature and CharacterThe names of God are more than a distinguishing title, they represent the divine nature of God and His relationship with His people. God deserves reverence, awe and respect. The Psalmist says “holy and reverend is his name (Ps. 111:19). God has chosen to make himself known to us through the use of His names. All that God is and all that Elohim does can be understood in His many names. All this week we will be exploring the Kingship of our God and our Lord Christ Jesus. Kingship is the state or condition of being a king. a person or thing regarded as the finest or most important in its sphere or group. KEY SCRIPTURE: Numbers 6:22-27 (CEB)The Lord spoke to Moses: 23 Tell Aaron and his sons: You will bless the Israelites as follows. Say to them: 24 The Lord bless you and protect you. 25 The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. 26 The Lord lift up his face to you and grant you peace 27 They will place my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them. Place: deposit, invest, put in a particular position, a distinct condition, or state of mind.I will Bless you with…Visitation - Glory - Fire!I will Keep you… watch over, guard, preserve or protect you!I will Make My Face Shine Upon You…We shall meet ‘face to face’ My Presence will be with you! My favor and grace will be upon you!I will be Gracious to you…show kindness, be merciful, and give you favor. Gracious: properly to bend or stoop in kindness to an inferior; to favor, bestow; causatively to implore (that is, move to favor by petition); (be) merciful.O people in Zion, inhabitant in Jerusalem, you will weep no longer. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you. (Isaiah 30:19) vs. 18 says, Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him. The Tribe of SimeonSimeon was fifth tribe moving out – he was just plain mean; he often took revenge and become violent with people. He did whatever he thought was right in his own eyes. Then she conceived again and bore a son and said, "Because the LORD has heard that I am unloved, He has therefore given me this son also." So she named him Simeon. Genesis 29:33Simeon = “heard” The 2nd son of Jacob by his wife Leah and father of the tribe of Simeon. From Ancient Hebrew: To hear as well as to respond to what is heard.Simeon is associated with the Biblical month of Av (July/August).Jacob’s Blessing - A Disavowing of ActionsGenesis 49:5- 7 5 "Simeon and Levi are brothers; Their swords are implements of violence. 6 "Let my soul not enter into their council; Let not my glory be united with their assembly; Because in their anger they slew men, And in their self-will they lamed oxen. 7 "Cursed be their anger, for it is fierce; And their wrath, for it is cruel. I will disperse them in Jacob, And scatter them in Israel.Interesting Notes: It was Zimri, a member of one of the leading families of this tribe, who was slain by Phinehas in the situation at Baal-peor (Num 25:14). This tribe was not mentioned in Moses' blessing of the nation of Israel (Deut. 33). 1 Chr. 4:28-33 makes it appear that the tribe of Simeon had been assimilated into the tribe of Judah, thus fulfilling Jacob's prophecy (Gen. 49:5-7). No Blessing from Moses but Ezekiel gives a Redemptive ProphesyAlthough the descendants of Simeon disappeared as a tribe, Ezekiel mentions it in his prophecies about a future land of Canaan (Ezek. 48:24-25,33). The Book of Revelation also mentions 12,000 of the tribe of Simeon who were sealed (Rev. 7:7). The tribes of Rueben, Simeon and Gad were unruly and violent but God did not cut them off. Instead in His wisdom, He aligned them in a way that He could use their strengths and control their weaknesses. This group of tribes could easily be called God’s battle-axe brigade.I Will Bless THEM!NAME OF GOD / King of the Nations God was called King of Israel or King of Jacob and Jesus (Yeshua‘) was called King of the Jews. King of the nations is a name of God that indicates that His authority extends beyond a particular people throughout the entire world. https://namesforgod.net/king-of-the-nations/ Scriptures: Jeremiah 10:7; Revelation 15:3King of the nations in Hebrew: Melekh haggoyimJeremiah 10:6-7 6 There is none like You, O LORD; You are great, and great is Your name in might. 7 Who would not fear You, O King of the nations? Indeed it is Your due! For among all the wise men of the nations and in all their kingdoms, There is none like You.King of the nations in Greek: Ho basileus tōn ethnōnRevelation 15:3 AMP 3And they sang the song of Moses the servant of God and the song of the Lamb, saying, Mighty and marvelous are Your works, O Lord God the Omnipotent! Righteous (just) and true are Your ways, O Sovereign of the ages (King of the nations)! [Exo 15:1; Psa 145:17]Revelation 15:3-4 3And they (victorious saints) sang the song of Moses, the bond-servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, "Great and marvelous are Your works, O Lord God, the Almighty; Righteous and true are Your ways, King of the nations! 4 "Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy; For ALL THE NATIONS WILL COME AND WORSHIP BEFORE YOU, FOR YOUR RIGHTEOUS ACTS HAVE BEEN REVEALED.” Desire of All NationsHaggai 2:6-9 (NKJV) 6 For thus says the LORD of hosts: 'Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; 7 and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,' says the LORD of hosts. 8 'The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,' says the LORD of hosts. 9 'The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,' says the LORD of hosts. 'And in this place I will give peace,' says the LORD of hosts."Blessing / Declaration of the Name:I put, pronounce, invoke and place the name of King of the Nations upon you! Yahweh, we give thanks to You, among the nations. O LORD we sing praises to Your name - You alone are worthy of our admiration!I say, Visitation - Glory - and Fire are coming to your house. I say, Yahweh is preserving and protecting the things that concern you. He is aware of all your concerns, so lay them at His feet…Yahweh’s favor, graciousness, kindness and mercy are being extended to you and yours. Yahweh is calling you! Come, He says, meet Me face to face - My presence will envelop you in these days.Yahweh, desires to hone your character so it will exemplify Jesus to the nations. So, if you are like Simeon prone be mean, take revenge or become violent with people, Repent! If you are like Simeon ‘one who does whatever he thinks is right in his own eyes’, KNOW it will cost you the greater portion of your inheritance. REPENT, beloved!Align yourself with My character and attributes for I desire for you to walk in ‘all’ of your promised land. I say, stand in awe of the King of the nations for there is none like Him. He alone is great, and great is His name. Hear of Nations: Wise men will fear and give Him homage to the King of the nations for there is none like Him. He is the sovereign of the nations; marvelous are His mighty works and righteous and true are His ways.I say, Beloved, the shaking you have seen throughout the earth is meant to bring My People, and the nations of the earth to the Desire of ALL Nations. The King of the nations is shaking the earth to prepare her for the latter glory. Fear not your financial standing says the King of the Nations for the silver and gold are Mine. I am repositioning it for My end-time harvest - I am well able to care for you and to release kingdom wealth into your hands. I say, shaking is producing the latter glory in My People (temple) who yield to Me. I will fill you, I will fill My temple, I will fill the nations with a greater portion of glory in these days. Says, the King of the Nations!

*** SPOILER ALERT in second half of the show ***Heading into the Thanksgiving holiday, here's a replay episode from one of our most popular shows. With a title that suggests the opening of a child's storybook, Quentin Tarantino revisits the Hollywood of 1969 and that summer night 50 years ago when members of the Manson family set out for Benedict Canyon with murder in their hearts. The grisly slayings on Cielo Drive — including that of a very pregnant Sharon Tate — cast a long shadow over the romance of the ‘60s counterculture. Tarantino has said that Charles Manson's ability to manipulate and control his followers still seems "unfathomable" to this day.In "Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood," the writer and director takes the occasion to revel in the details of the era, complete with commercials, TV shows, songs, radio news and famous locations and restaurants around Los Angeles. But Tarantino also offers up a study of actors — their anxieties, insecurities and the pride they take in their performances. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio as the fictional actor Rick Dalton, and Brad Pitt as his stunt double, along with Margot Robbie as the very real Sharon Tate, the film is more emotional and personal than other Tarantino movies. In fact, Tarantino — who grew up in Los Angeles — has called "Once Upon a Time" his "Roma."Mark Olsen (@IndieFocus) talks with Times film critics @KennethTuran and @JustinCChang, as well as film reporter @jenyamato and special guest Julia Turner (@JuliaTurner), Deputy Managing Editor of Entertainment and Arts.
