Thank you for listening to Mormon Sex Info. This episode is an archived episode and is only now becoming publicly available. Mormon Sex Info relies on contributions. To contribute, please visit: mormonsex.info Please enjoy the episode. Natasha Helfer Parker interviews Isa Jones, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Clinical Sexologist, on the importance of creating & claiming our sexual identities both as individuals and couples. What does this mean? For example, we often have clear ideas about many roles we play in our lives… who am I as a parent?… as a spouse?… as a business partner? But how many times have we thought about “who am I sexually?” So, how do we go about claiming our own sexuality in ways that hold authenticity and internal authority? What sexual values do we hold - not just from our religious culture - but from the space of pleasure, consent, vulnerability, erotic experience, etc…? And then… how do we communicate these sexual spaces with our partners - especially when sexual tastes and preferences differ? Natasha and Isa discuss all kinds of helpful strategies, exercises and reframes that can help you find your erotic potential, manage libido differences and better negotiate sexual fantasy, desires and interests. Isa grew up in an LDS home, has a great understanding of Mormon culture and works with a large number of LDS clientele. She is the owner of the Scottsdale Center for Sex and Relationship Therapy in Scottsdale, Arizona. She specializes in EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), improving couples communication, creative problem solving, enhancing intimacy and increasing erotic desire. Isa graduated with her BS in Human Development from Brigham Young University and her Masters degree in MFT at Arizona State University. She is the Arizona Section leader for AASECT. Isa has been educating and inspiring women, men and couples to live with more passion, self-confidence and joy for over 20 years. It’s part 2 with Jonathan Killearn, a classically trained musician navigating the competitive new music distribution world of the Internet. Is it crazy to pursue a career in creative arts? The conversation is about audience building, talking to nobody, and music communities online; quiz time teaches us all about Gary Busey & Nick Nolte. Part 1 can be found here. Jonathan is sharing his music via lead sheets in LilyPond format on GitHub. Podcast Method, a show by Dan Benjamin. Jonathan mentions a subreddit for musicians, We Are The Music Makers. You should follow Jonathan’s Instagram account. Jonathan likes his Android phone because he can quickly switch from his personal account to his stage name when he interacts with fans. Jonathan uses SoundCloud because he believes it is the “Youtube of audio.” Another musician interviewed on a past show used Reverb Nation. You can hear his story here and part 2. Jonathan found a love of music when first heard Cloudburst by Mannheim Steamroller in 4th grade. Later, in 1996 Jonathan attended the North American New Music Festival. Music Jonathan enjoys The Strokes, Belle and Sebastian, Benjamin Thigpen, Pronto Mama & Randolph’s Leap. John Roderick is a musician who does the Roderick on the Line and Road Work podcasts. Jonathan enjoys Hypercritical & Accidental Tech podcasts and has written a song inspired by them. He hopes to start producing it next. He also has a song about diver Tom Daley. QUIZ TIME! Chris gives Paul & Jonathan a test on who’s who in Hollywood. Is it Nick Nolte or Gary Busey?. Who fits in a nutty used car TV ad? Gary Busey, of course. Thanks for listening! BUSINESS PLAN FOR 2013 I heard it somewhere that in Japan they create from 100 to 250 year business plans! I’ve been working on my business plans and goals ALL DAY for just the year of 2013. I finally got what I wanted down and still I am not finished. All I got is a handwritten (organized) mess. I’ve got my four training courses; one for each quarter: 1. Business Start-Up Course, 2. Five Fold Leadership Course, 3. Creative Writing/Teaching Course, and 4. Music Ministry/Business Course. Level 1 courses are Free, Level 2 courses are $60, and Level 3 courses are $100. There are 28 Sessions per course that will be held in each quarter for 3 months; given on Tuesdays and Fridays of each month. I have scheduled 240 Blog posts (Monday thru Friday). 20 Per month. 4 For whatever the theme is for the month (Ex: Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, etc). 4 to add extra content to whatever the course is for the month. 4 to add extra content in promotion of book release of the month. And 4 for marketing and promotional use. I have scheduled 4 digital media messages in the form of Videos or Podcast (or both). One per four weeks. The subjects determined by either the course, theme, or book of the month. I have scheduled the release on Amazon Kindle and Lulu.com 12 eBooks. 1 Per month.
