Billie Jo Herberger has been a Phoenix resident since 1969 and was named the 2013 Woman of the Year by Women of Scottsdale. According to a 2015 article highlighting her in the Phoenix Magazine, “Billie Jo serves as an inspiration to many – she’s survived cervical cancer, breast cancer and malignant melanoma without losing a sliver of her spunk or spark. She doesn’t cover up her scars, but displays them proudly as ‘badges of courage.’” The Herbergers are well known in the Valley for their support of the arts. Just last year they were inducted into the Herberger Performing Arts & Broadcast Hall of Fame in 2019 and had a new Scottsdale arts award named after them - the Herberger Award for the Arts. They have given generously to arts organizations including the Herberger Theater, the Phoenix Theater, Valley Youth Theatre, Arizona Opera, Ballet Arizona, Scottsdale Philharmonic, Phoenix Art Museum, Scottsdale Center for the Arts as well as other important non-profits such as Release the Fear, Key to the Cure (TGen), Kids Read USA, and Phoenix Heart Ball.

Thank you for listening to Mormon Sex Info. This episode is an archived episode and is only now becoming publicly available. Mormon Sex Info relies on contributions. To contribute, please visit: mormonsex.info Please enjoy the episode. Natasha Helfer Parker interviews Isa Jones, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Clinical Sexologist, on the importance of creating & claiming our sexual identities both as individuals and couples. What does this mean? For example, we often have clear ideas about many roles we play in our lives… who am I as a parent?… as a spouse?… as a business partner? But how many times have we thought about “who am I sexually?” So, how do we go about claiming our own sexuality in ways that hold authenticity and internal authority? What sexual values do we hold - not just from our religious culture - but from the space of pleasure, consent, vulnerability, erotic experience, etc…? And then… how do we communicate these sexual spaces with our partners - especially when sexual tastes and preferences differ? Natasha and Isa discuss all kinds of helpful strategies, exercises and reframes that can help you find your erotic potential, manage libido differences and better negotiate sexual fantasy, desires and interests. Isa grew up in an LDS home, has a great understanding of Mormon culture and works with a large number of LDS clientele. She is the owner of the Scottsdale Center for Sex and Relationship Therapy in Scottsdale, Arizona. She specializes in EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), improving couples communication, creative problem solving, enhancing intimacy and increasing erotic desire. Isa graduated with her BS in Human Development from Brigham Young University and her Masters degree in MFT at Arizona State University. She is the Arizona Section leader for AASECT. Isa has been educating and inspiring women, men and couples to live with more passion, self-confidence and joy for over 20 years. To get in touch with Isa visit www.ScottsdaleSexTherapy.com. Dr. Josh Turnbull is founder and CEO of Lydian Dental, a new aspirational brand of dental clinics with locations in Phoenix, AZ and Austin, TX. Dr. Josh’s story began in 2008 where he was doing research both at the Mayo Clinic and with Dr. Gordon Christensen at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry. This led him to pursue an MBA at Harvard after he completed his DMD at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. During these years, Dr. Josh realized that the dental industry was experiencing massive consolidation, but he was disenchanted by much of what he saw in the corporate dentistry world. He asked himself, “Why is there no Mayo Clinic of dentistry”? Thus, Lydian Dental was born. Lydian is out to make dentistry more affordable, convenient and fun. They like to call themselves the “anti-corporate” brand of dental clinics, with a focus on great design and user experience, which they were recently recognized for nationally in Wired Magazine. They currently have 3 Lydian branded clinics in operation and a mobile clinic which launched in Austin 3 months ago and is providing services to companies across the city. They are also developing a Membership that they feel could disrupt the traditional dental insurance model. Lydian is also committed to giving back. Through their Lydian Smiles initiative they provide pro bono services both locally and internationally. Dr. Josh is also a proud father of 4 children and is married to the most wonderful woman on earth. Lydian is expanding nationally and is looking for dentists to partner with. For more information, contact Dr. Josh at josh@lydiandental.com www.lydiandental.com

Dr. Calleros has been providing life enhancing dentistry for more than 29 years in the South Bay communities. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of California, Riverside and her Doctor of Dental Surgery from University of California, Los Angeles. Go Bruins! Along with private practice, she has been an instructor at the UCLA Dental School’s Restorative Department. Continuing education is extremely important to Dr. Calleros, as she spends countless hours taking courses to ensure she stays at the forefront of dentistry. She has taken many courses in advanced esthetics, occlusion, and treatment planning at the world-renowned Scottsdale Center for Dentistry. Taking advanced courses in Invisalign Orthodontics has given her Preferred Invisalign provider status. Her latest study is in implant dentistry and she has recently attained a Fellowship in the International Dental Implant Association. She is one of the first and only Laser Certified Dentists in the South Bay. Her continuing education will not stop here, as she understands the importance of staying ahead with current dental research and technology. Her latest achievement is the addition of cone beam computerized technology (3-D radiology). She uses this for diagnosis of oral pathology, endodontic root canal treatment, and digital implant planning. This seamlessly integrates with CEREC technology, one-visit crowns. She has earned the distinction of becoming a mentor for advanced CEREC classes at the Scottsdale Center and is a proud member of CERECDOCTORS.com. Dr. Calleros loves dentistry because she can combine science with art to create not only beautiful, but more importantly, healthy smiles. From the start of her private practice she has always upheld the highest level of ethics and integrity. You can trust that Dr. Calleros will listen to each individual need and provide you with optimal care. She has chosen a team that holds the same beliefs and value system to ensure the entire dental experience can be pleasant, knowledgeable, and treat you like family. Giving back to the community is important to Dr. Calleros. Each year she joins forces with agencies such as Habitat for Humanity and the 1736 Family Crisis Center to provide dental services to local families who are unable to afford treatment. She and her team have volunteered at Maria Shriver's Modern House Call for Women in Long Beach, California where they provided uninsured women on-site dental treatment. In the past, she has volunteered with the South Bay Health District, where she helped low income children and abused women receive much needed dental work. Giving back does not stop at volunteering her time, she continuously donates to many different charities and participates in local fitness events that raise money for various charities. She and her team recently did over $15,000 of dental treatment on families from a local crisis center. In September 2015 she not only completed the Avon39 Walk to End Breast Cancer in Santa Barbara, she also raised over $6000.00 towards breast cancer research and treatment. Dr. Calleros understands firsthand the importance of raising a healthy family. She is a proud mother of two. Her daughter graduated from San Diego State University and is pursuing a career in the entertainment industry and her son is a firefighter in Scottsdale, Arizona. An animal lover, she has a beautiful Thoroughbred horse named Face and just added a new dog to her family, named Brandi. Away from the office, Dr. Calleros enjoys many outdoor activities and is quite the weekend warrior. You will most likely find her riding her road bike along the coast and through the hills of Palos Verdes. Every year she runs in the Manhattan Beach 10K. In support of UCLA, she combined three of her favorite activities, swimming, biking, and running, to complete her first triathlon, the Iron Bruin. She also takes great pleasure in riding her horse and motorcycle, playing tennis, golfing and hiking. During the summer weekends she spends her time enjoying the South Bay beaches or boating in Arizona, and during the Winter weekends skiing down the slopes of Mammoth. www.drcalleros.com

Covering an historic arc that reaches from the Cultural Revolution to the 2008 Olympic Games, Alison Friedman looks at how China is searching for a new globalized contemporary identity through music, dance and theater. Examples of artists navigating this search include world-famous classical musicians like Lang Lang and Tan Dun as well as less well-known underground 'Chinese indie' musicians such as Xiao He and the performing artist collective ZuHe Niao. Ms. Friedman also addresses how performing artists are combining traditional Chinese forms with new influences from the west -- or not! -- as well as the role of international partners in the field, including festivals, collaborators, funding bodies, and Embassies, and how the international community is affecting China's contemporary performing arts scene, for better or worse (in sickness and in health....) Alison M. Friedman is the founding director of Ping Pong Productions, a producing and consulting organization headquartered in Beijing with the mission of cultural diplomacy. Clients include TAO Dance Theater, Mark Morris Dance Group, the U.S Embassy in China, the British Council, Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, and Los Angeles Theatre Works.
