Green Beret Foundation Director of Programs and Services Anna Richardson joins us for an update on their programs.  The mission of the Green Beret Foundation is to provide Special Forces soldiers and their families with emergency, immediate and ongoing support. Since inception, the GBF has provided support for over 14,000 families. For Anna, her work with the Green Beret Foundation is “personal”. She served as a mental health and drug and alcohol counselor in the Army and is a Green Beret spouse. Green Berets sustain one of the highest casualty rates in the Special Forces. Anna emphasizes something unique about their mission in that they could be providing education or building communities on one day and fighting the next. The GBF takes extra precautions to assure that recipients of their support did indeed serve in the Army Special Forces.  Many of their emergency and casualty support requests come directly from US Special Operations Command. Their programs are also available for pre 9/11 Veterans. Anna says that many of the support requests they are currently receiving come from post 9/11 Veterans who need help navigating their benefits. Request for support links may be found at their website. We also discuss some of their health and wellness support programs including funding for special treatments that are not covered by soldier's insurance. Collaboration is one of the core values of the GBF. For example, their emergency support packs include backpacks provided by GORUCK, a company founded by a former Green Beret. Their website also lists numerous “gifts that give back” links. Anna is also active with the “Steel Mags” support group. The chapters consist of Green Beret mothers, spouses and daughters.  They consider themselves the “keepers of the brave.” TAKEAWAY: “You do not have to know exactly what you need. That's our job. I know the questions you should be asking even if you don't.”

Record-breaking temperatures in the Alps in Europe have led to a disappointing ski season so far. Some slopes have been more brown than white, while others have been forced to close all together. Many worry this is a bad omen for the whole industry – which employs thousands globally. This is part of a wider trend of unpredictable weather. Some ski resorts are trying to adapt, by making artificial snow for example, but these short-term measures aren't always sustainable. It's predicted that the Alps will have 25% less snow by 2050, whereas resorts in Arctic Sweden are forecast to stay colder for longer. Could the northern country become skiing's last resort, or will the industry have to fundamentally change to survive? Hi my love, This is episode 13 with Anna Richards. Anna was the first beautiful woman I reached out to for this new season as I knew her voice and her fire were needed as we continue to broaden the conversation of Womanhood. To use Anna's words, she roars. She stands big and loud and passionately for women – and humanity for that matter. Her ability to advocate for the claiming of our power as woman has taught me so much over the past 12 months - as the world continues to shape shift, I continue to turn toward Anna for guidance and wisdom. Her political insight, ability to inspire liberated action and stand for her truth over and over again is truly something else. Being in Anna's online vortex has certainly created such a deeper conviction within me - in my understanding of my human rights, how to successfully advocate for what I truly stand for and believe in or simply kicking my butt out of bed to get moving each day. Anna is the kind of woman I look to with such admiration and deep gratitude for the way she chooses to remind women every single day of their power. Starting her first online business at the age of 18, an online dating platform for 18 to 30 year olds, Anna got her first taste of the entrepreneurial spirit which hasn't left her since. Life then took a different turn when she got head hunted at age 21 into Federal Politics where she would spend the next 4 years of her life working for a Federal Member of Parliament, learning the in's and out's of the Australian Political landscape and the walls of our nations Federal Parliament house. Anna's passion for business proved too strong and at the age of 25 she found the Network Marketing model and in 5 short years, Anna earned her first million dollars in Network Marketing. Anna is the host of her own podcast ‘Anything Goes' and the creator of Self Love School where she teaches the principles of thinking, moving, speaking, earning, and self-caring like you love yourself. Today she lives on the Gold Coast living her boldest, most unapologetic life imaginable. It is my absolute pleasure to welcome Anna Richardson to Womanhood.

This episode, I jumped on the phone with a lot of people who have crossed my path this duck season and asked them their highs and lows of this past duck season. Blake Hall, Alora Babb, Spencer Halford, David Frisbie, Rob Kinney, Luke Cramlet, Kirk Emerson, Anna Richardson, and Jed Lamb all give their answers and we talk a little bit about the upcoming seasons - snow goose hunting and turkey season. This duck season for me was full of laughter and life lessons. I got to travel more than I ever have and hunt places I never have. I got to experience life and try to handle all the crazy things it has to throw at me. Someone once asked me, 'Why do you like duck hunting so much?' It was simple - It's the opportunity that tomorrow will be that much better, that maybe the weather will be perfect, and the ducks will do it right. The opportunity to meet new people and see familiar faces. The laughter that fills the blinds, and the stillness that calms the woods. There's nothing else in the world like it. #TuesdayTalkwithLB

Following the recent spate of terrorist attacks in France and Germany, and widespread reporting on these atrocities, some media outlets, including the French daily newspaper Le Monde, have decided to not publish the names or pictures of perpetrators. One of the organisations choosing to not publish details is French networked Europe1 Radio. Andrea Catherwood speaks to managing editor Nicolas Escoulan to hear why they've made that decision. Plus Jo Groebel, an academic and media consultant in Germany, who has been advising media there on this issue, explains why he thinks self-censorship is ineffective. Channel 4's new 'dating' show 'Naked Attraction' has certainly sparked controversy, with around 123 complaints already to regulator Ofcom. The programme sees a single man and woman choose a date from a selection of six people standing naked before them. Some viewers have been left shocked by close ups of genitalia and full frontals, but ratings suggest it's pulling in a big audience - particularly the young. Andrea Catherwood is joined by presenter Anna Richardson, plus critics Kevin O'Sullivan and Rachel Cooke. Latest results from Facebook show the company now has 1.71 billion monthly users, a surge from 1.65 billion in the previous quarter. Strikingly, the results also showed that revenue from advertising has grown 63 per cent in a year, to over $6.2 billion, with mobile ad revenue accounting for 84 per cent of this. Andrea Catherwood talks to ad expert Martin Bowley about the significance of these figures; what this tells us about ad spend, the impact on traditional media, and whether Facebook profits still have space to grow. Producer: Katy Takatsuki.
