Born in Pistoia, she moved to Thailand at the age of 17, later to Milan to earn a degree in Architecture, to London to study Chinese, and finally to China to pursue her intercultural exploration through studies and work. Throughout her journey, she has nurtured her passion for electronic music by attending events to draw inspiration, blending sounds influenced by diverse ethnicities. Upon returning to Italy in 2020, she resumed studying the transverse flute and sang ethnic music with the Agorà Choir in Pistoia. Her love for Asia, where she lived for several years, and the garage and acid sounds she discovered in London, have shaped her eclectic style, connecting house, speed garage, and acid techno. Kouni has played in major events with the Florence-based Artax collective, opening for guests like Stephan Krus, Sumia, Lee Ann Roberts, Sara Mozzillo, and SPFDJ, experimenting with raw techno. She has performed in several prominent Florentine clubs such as Tenax Club, bringing northern European house sounds, as well as at Babylon Club, XO Club, Fiorino sull'Arno, Play Techno in Pontedera, and clubs in Sardinia and Lake Garda. Her journey took her to Beijing's Red House and Platea, where she delivered an eclectic musical style as a cultural link between the countries she loves. For Kouni, a lover of arts, culture, and beauty, electronic music transcends linguistic barriers, uniting people. Unlike traditional therapies that suppress the immune system, Artax's approach aims to restore immune balance by modulating T cell receptor signaling. Dr. Armstrong shares insights into the company's recent clinical progress, including positive Phase IIa results in psoriasis and promising preclinical data in atopic dermatitis, and what these milestones mean for the broader autoimmune treatment landscape. With more than 20 years of leadership in biopharmaceutical R&D, Dr. Armstrong previously served as CEO, board member and co-founder of Boston Pharmaceuticals, led small molecule R&D at Amgen and held senior executive roles at Eli Lilly, including Vice President of Global Medicinal Chemistry. Dr. Armstrong was Chairman of the Board of Artax Biopharma until January 2024, when he was appointed as the company's CEO. Prior to working in industry, Dr. Armstrong was a tenured Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Armstrong received his Bachelor of Science (BS) in chemistry at University of California San Diego (UCSD), PhD in chemistry at California State University (CSU) and was an NIH postdoctoral fellow at Harvard. Rob Armstrong, CEO of Artax Biopharma, highlights the basic mechanism of action of Nck modulators and how they differ from traditional immunosuppressant drugs to treat autoimmune diseases. Taking this adjustable thermostat approach aims to modulate the immune response rather than completely suppressing the response, potentially reducing side effects. The oral, small molecule drug is an advantage over injectable biologics currently dominating the automimmune disease treatment landscape. Rob explains, "Nck stands for non-catalytic kinase, and what Nck is is an adapter protein that interacts with the T cell receptor. Its role is basically to amplify any signals when an antigen is presented to the T cell receptor. It's really interesting because it's called signal one. In other words, it's the beginning of the immune cascade when an antigen is presented. And what's interesting is that it's upstream of what the target of most other drugs are, which are the cytokines that are the offending entities for many of the autoimmune diseases. So what Nck does basically is it amplifies different types of antigens that are bound to the T cell receptor." "So, T cell receptors are a fascinating construct of proteins because they need to address the binding of antigens that are across an incredibly different range of avidity. In other words, it has to be able to be activated by both very strong avidity antigens and weak antigens. So what Nck does is it amplifies the signal when the antigen is a weak antigen, but when it's a strong antigen, Nck is really not necessary at all. Old-school fantasy story beats mix with ahead-of-their-time tropes like meta-narratives and crossing realities when a bookish kid hides from the world with a stolen book that literally places the reader at the center of the story. Endes Hauptwerk und das kostbarste, unergründlichste Jugendbuch der beiden Podcaster ist Die unendliche Geschichte von 1979. Eine Geschichte voller Spiegelbilder – seien es die Hauptcharaktere Bastian und Atréju, die Menschenwelt und Phantásien, Glücksdrache Fuchur und Finsterwolf Gmork, zwei Buchhälften, eine weiße und eine schwarze Schlange – und zwei rotsamtene Buchdeckel voller Philosophie, Romantik und Angeboten zum Träumen oder Denken. Nur: Einer der beiden Podcaster sah zuerst die 1984er Verfilmung von Wolfgang Petersen und hat so den Artax von hinten aufgezäumt. Der konsequenten und zarten Vision Michael Endes stellten sich damals ein gewaltiger Medienrummel und die Marketingmaschine des Bernd Eichinger entgegen. Kunst und Kommerz, noch so ein Spiegelbild.

Divers, it's time to roll out a gym mat, light some candles, wrap yourself in an old army blanket and channel your inner dramatic ten year old. Because N&D are Deep Diving Wolfgang Petersen's 1984 Meta Textual-Fairy Tale, The Neverending Story. Get ready to process the collective trauma of Artax in the Swamp Of Sadness.

A young boy, overwhelmed with grief at the sudden and potentially violent loss of his mother. A newly widowed father, still struggling to cope with massive change, becomes cold and distant to his son. With his imagination the only thing allowing him to escape to some semblance of happiness, the boy shoplifts a valuable original print book from a kind old man's shop, and proceeds to hide in his school overnight while hallucinating a fantastical adventure with talking rocks and wolves until the early hours of the morning. Is this a horror story? A semi-accurate description of the life trauma that made Benny the mess he is today? Or a seminal childhood classic which features a flying dog-dragon that holds up about as well as a ham sandwich you hid behind a radiator 20 years ago? The Neverending Story is one of those rare childhood classics that not only deserves to be called one, but offers complexity, creativity, and a deep sugary nougat you usually have to suck on a Tootsie Pop to reach. From gorgeous set pieces, to solid directing and editing, right down to surprisingly deep characters, no amount of shade tossed onto it by two embittered middle-aged men can tarnish the shine this movie has. Yes, some parts are goofy, some moments don't really survive the test of time too well, but for the most part it's a solid romp down memory lane.  Climb aboard that abhorrent piece of garbage Falcor, and chase some bullies into a garbage dumpster as we discuss such topics as: Benny had absolutely no idea that this movie was originally a German film. Like, German German There was not one, but two sequel films. The fact that you're saying “really?” pretty much sums up how good they were The character design is fantastic in this movie, far better than they have any right to be. Even the wolf, who has some awful motion effects near the end, still manages to elicit a sense of dread The matte paintings in this film are honestly among the best we've ever seen, and it renewed our sorrow for this lost art form Transitions, transitions, transitions. It's a little thing, but the movements between the fantasy world and Bastion's real world are smooth and perfectly timed, and really add to the effectiveness of the storytelling Contrary to what Benny spent the past 26 years of his life believing, the horse that plays Artax didn't actually die, and you're a fool for believing that he did. But not Benny. Benny is no fool We don't care how fondly you remember Falcor; he is a garbage character who repeatedly annihilates any tension or gravity the movie builds. The producers also apparently blew their effects budget on the other characters, because Falcor looks like a grade 3 production of Marmaduke It's amazing what an adult perspective can give you with a movie like this. The inner battle with Bastion - real life vs imagination - is presented really well, and makes you think deeply about the moments we began to drift away from fantasy Also, the Sphinxs' at the first gate have nipples Bastion, you have the power to grant yourself any wish you like, and as many as you could ever dream of. Oh, your first wish is to fly the crappy luck dragon? Really? 

It's the scene that launched a thousand tears. A rollercoaster of emotion that took millions of kids from the highs of flying on their own luck dragon to the lows of witnessing an excruciatingly slow stationary march to death. If we you didn't know what depression was before, you certainly got a taste after. We're talking about the saddest scene in cinema history...
