In this episode, we have the great privilege of speaking with industry veteran Leo Pearson, who played a role in shaping the sound of Talk on Corners with a production credit on the album.Leo takes us back to where it all started—his mum's basement —where The Corrs recorded demos that would eventually make their way onto the multi-million-selling album. He shares the unexpected journey that led him to work with the band, from experimenting with electronic music and samplers to suddenly finding himself recording a band, engineering, and programming for one of the biggest pop acts of the era.Leo recounts some of the creative process behind key tracks, his experience working with the band, and the whirlwind energy of their manager, John Hughes. He also reveals the difficulties of getting his recordings into the hands of legendary producer David Foster, just one of the many challenges the band faced in translating demos into polished album tracks. We hear firsthand about the evolving music industry of the late '90s, the intersection of traditional and electronic sounds, and the lessons Leo carried forward into his career. Packed with behind-the-scenes stories and insights plus clips of unused demo songs, this episode gives greater insights into the music we have loved for decades. In today's episode of the podcast I talk with the very talented (and highly accomplished), multi-instrumentalist/singer/songwriter -St. Paul Petterson. Among the huge list of St. Paul's credits you will see some massive 'superstar' type names like - Morris Day, Darryl Hall, George Benson, The Corrs and Peter Frampton, but the thing that needs to be brought to your attention (at least in my opinion), is the fact that at only 17 years old, Paul was hand picked by the (now late, but always great) Prince to join 'The Time' for the Purple Rain movie. This of course led to many work related affiliations with Prince before St. Paul eventually became a successful singer and songwriter in his own right with labels like MCA and Atlantic. Paul also has his own podcast (with a similar theme to this one) entitled 'Music On The Run, which I strongly encourage you to check out. For further information on Paul, The Mpls Funk All Stars or any of his related projects, please visit www.paulpeterson.com or www.mplsfunkallstars.com For all things Travis Marc or Musicians-Mentor related please visit - www.musicians-mentor.com Also, don't forget to check out our affiliate partnership with the lovely folks over at Soundbrenner by visiting - https://www.soundbrenner.com/pages/affiliate-travis-marc

I was lucky enough to start my career wrapping cables at a world-class recording studio, surrounded by the best engineers, mixers, and producers in the business. I learned so much just by being “under the roof” and working with those incredibly talented people. Sadly, most of you reading this will never get to ask questions and learn engineering and production from the best in the business because your studio is in your home. Convenient? Yes! You can work whenever you want, and for as long as you want! Isolating? Also, yes! Working by yourself pretty much limits you to learning from YouTube videos. But, that's not nearly as good as having TWO real-deal, hit-making, multi-Grammy-winning, multi-platinum engineers/mixers answer your specific questions in real-time. That's EXACTLY what you're going to do when you join Rob Chiarelli, Michael Havens, and me on this very special episode of TAXI TV, live! Michael engineers Gospel superstar Kirk Franklin's records, and Rob mixes them. They've also (collectively) worked with Justin Bieber, Tori Kelly, Chance the Rapper, Demi Lovato, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Erica Campbell, Big Smo, Andra Day, The Corrs, Public Enemy, Jesse McCartney, LeeAnn Rimes, Will Smith, Danny Elfman, Christina Aguilera, Teddy Pendergrass, The Temptations, The Four Tops, and many, many more!
