Bible Reading: Romans 6:5-11Evan and James were hunting for wild edible mushrooms with their family. "Got one!" Evan yelled. "Wow, that one's a whopper!" James said. "Just make sure you know it's the right type," Dad warned. "You know the rule: One hundred percent sure, then take the treasure." They mushroom-hunted for a couple hours, driven by the hope of mushroom soup. "My mouth is already watering for mom's delicious soup!" Evan said. "Yeah!" James replied. "Mom is probably the best cook in town!" "I don't know about that," Mom said. "There are lots of good cooks out there." "Well, you're still a really good cook!" Evan and James said in unison, making the whole family laugh. After heading home, the two boys stood outside the kitchen, breathing in the wonderful smells. When the soup was done, the boys raced to be the first to the table. After giving thanks, they gulped it down. "This soup could be called new life soup," Dad said. "The mushrooms in it grow on dead wood. Though the tree has died, the mushrooms come alive by feeding on the nutrients in the wood. They're an example of death leading to new life.""Wow!" Evan said. "I didn't know that mushrooms grow on dead things.""I know of something else that has new life too," Mom said. "Can you guys guess what it is?" "A caterpillar turning into a butterfly?" James guessed. "Snakes getting new skin?" Evan added. "Good guesses, but I was thinking of something else," Mom replied. "Me!""You?" James asked. "How do you have new life?" "You two can have it too!" said Mom. "It comes from Jesus, our Savior. The Bible says every one of us is a sinner. When we confess our sins and trust Jesus to save us, our old, sinful self dies, and He gives us new life with Him!""Wow!" James said. "That's even cooler than mushrooms growing on dead logs." "Yeah," Evan agreed. "I want to ask Jesus to give me new life right now!" "Me too!" James said. Mom smiled at them and said, "Let's read some verses together and pray." –Elijah GollHow About You?Are you excited when you fix a broken toy? Are you happy when you make an old thing new again? Fr. Mike focuses on the book of Tobit today and explains why this beautiful book is missing from non-Catholic Bibles. He dives into the history behind the arrangement of the Bible and why the Catholic Bible includes 73 books. Today's readings are Isaiah 3-4, Tobit 3-4, and Proverbs 9:13-18. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/bibleinayear. Please note: The Bible contains adult themes that may not be suitable for children - parental discretion is advised.
The Catechism wraps up its overview of the Eucharist by reminding us that the sacrament of Holy Communion is a foretaste of what is to come in heaven. Fr. Mike exhorts us to prepare our hearts here on earth so that they might be conformed to God, ready to unite with him forever in heaven. The Eucharist is a most excellent path to such unity. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 1402-1405. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB. Neda was born in Iran to a Muslim family. She grew up as a Muslim and married a well-known Iranian athlete. But their marriage was on the rocks. At 22, feeling broken and empty, Neda called out to Allah for help. But she found no solace, and grew angry and disillusioned with a god that refused to answer her prayers. As Neda's heart continued searching, God supernaturally told a family member living in the Netherlands to go back to Iran and share the gospel of Jesus. Neda came to faith in Christ through her relative's witness and her life was radically transformed. Her husband, surprised and amazed by the change he saw in her, placed his trust in Jesus too. God faithfully restored their marriage and called them to ministry. Neda drew strength from the stories of other persecuted Christians. She read a story in a book from The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) about a girl who was assaulted and became pregnant. Yet she responded with remarkable faith by entrusting everything, even her body, to God. God used this story to teach Neda about the importance of obedience and sacrifice despite fear of persecution and threats of imprisonment and violence. Over the next thirteen years, Neda and her husband faced increasing persecution from the Islamic government. In one incident, officials raided their home and threatened her husband at gunpoint. She and her husband ultimately decided to leave Iran, yet they continue to serve from abroad through Iran Alive Ministries. Neda encourages every Christian to lay down their own desires and fully surrender to God's will—even when it means taking up their cross and enduring suffering and persecution. She also shares specific ways to pray for Christians in Iran during the current turmoil there. The VOM App for your smartphone or tablet will help you pray daily for persecuted Christians—in Iran and other nations—throughout the year, as well as provide free access to e-books, audiobooks, video content and feature films. Download the VOM App for your iOS or Android device today.
For far too long, homosexual activists have tried to twist Scripture to make it look as though the Bible supports same-sex attraction. Joe Dallas will join us to discuss another book recently released that tries, yet again, to make it look like God’s love knows no bounds – and therefore, there really is no need for repentance from sin. Using the ‘straight stick of God’s truth’ as our metric, we will examine some twisted ideas being ‘sold’ in the marketplace of ideas.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

TODAY'S DEVOTION: There is a second room, and in it are symbols of a second chance. That's what the writer of Hebrews is telling us. There is the holy place, the first room. But then he talks about the second room. In that room is a box containing symbols. In that box there is manna, the symbol of God's provision, care and love. There is also a staff in the box. It represents God's judgment, His wisdom and his rule. And there are tablets. These speak of his law and his righteousness. These are artifacts and tokens of God's kingdom. The symbols of the kingdom are all covered up in a box. And the cover of the box is called the atonement seat. It seems as if the vestiges of this greatly desired kingdom are shut up, locked up in this box, out of reach. Access to these sparse tokens was granted only once a year, and only to one person. When that person entered this second room, he offered a sacrifice of blood on the atonement seat where these symbols of the kingdom reside. It's almost as if he were trying to open the box and that kingdom life by the shedding of the blood. He would enter that room year after year, hoping to unlock, as it were, the gifts of kingdom life. But the key to the lock on this box could not be opened by the shedding of the blood of calves and goats. Releasing the power of these kingdom symbols requires a far greater sacrifice than the blood of goats and bulls. There's only one person that can open up these treasures. God has sent his own high priest into the second room. He has offered his own blood on the seat of atonement. And with the sacrifice of His Son, we are given full access into kingdom life. Now we can know and experience his love. We can know his judgments and wisdom in our life. We can live righteously before him, because now His Spirit resides in us and his laws are written on our hearts. Our champion, Christ, has gone into the second room and offered his blood on the atonement seat for the whole world. The treasures of that box have been opened up for all. We no longer need to send our man in once a year to look at a box with scraps and tokens of a kingdom long ago, filled with failed dreams and distant hopes. No, these symbols point us to what Christ has done for the world once for all time. He has won the treasures of kingdom life for all, here and now. So let's not live on scraps and tokens and remnants of some distant hope. He went into that second room for us and he has opened up the treasures of life, life in his kingdom today. And the prayer of my own heart today is that I will see what he has done, that I will rest in his completed work, and that I will know his joy. That's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord of heaven and earth, you have awakened us in your mercy once more. Still our anxious minds, quiet our striving hearts and help us to rest in the knowledge that we are held by you. May we walk in step with your spirit today, not ahead, not behind, but beside you in trust and love through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. O God of all peoples, you formed every soul in your image and breathed life into every heart. Open the eyes of the nations, soften hearts grown cold and teach us to live as neighbors and friends. Let your spirit move in power, renew the face of the earth and usher in your reign of peace. Amen. And now, Lord, let me be a bearer of your peace. Where voices divide, let me speak grace; where fear takes root, let me plant trust; where the world rushes on, let me walk with you. May I seek not to climb, but to kneel, not to win, but to love, not to grasp, but to give. For it is in emptying that we are filled, in surrender, that we are strengthened and in union with you, that we find our truest joy. Amen. And now, as our Lord has taught us, we are bold to pray: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen. OUR WEBSITE: www.dailyradiobible.com We are reading through the New Living Translation. Happy Sabbath everyone! "The Gift of His Peace" is Part 6 of this 6 part mini-series on John 14. Why should we read the Bible? Why should we know the Bible? Why should we store the Bible in our brains? Well, I assume it is because that is how we get to know God. In this final episode of our “Prosperity Gospel, Poverty Gospel, and The Gospel” series, we're diving into the forgotten commands of scripture that every Christian should know when it comes to money. We're not just talking about how to make more or give more — we're talking about how to think biblically about money, handle it with eternity in mind, and why most believers are stuck in financial cycles that don't reflect the heart of God. We break down 1 Timothy 6:17–19 and show how Paul gives us a framework for wealth that isn't about prosperity or poverty — it's about purpose. In this episode, we cover: Why God wants you to enjoy what He's given — but not worship it The #1 thing Paul told the rich (and it's not what you think) How to track your “Net Given” (instead of your net worth) The difference between seed and bread in 2 Corinthians 9 Why your money is meant to flow through you, not just to you How to write a personal “Wealth Purpose Statement” with your family Why generosity now is connected to eternal treasures later
Amos 6-9
Amos 6-9
“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” (Deuteronomy 30:19–20 NLT) One of the great blessings of being a Christian is that God gives us second chances. He knows that we’re not perfect. He knows that we’re prone to giving in to temptation, allowing our emotions to get the better of us, and acting in ways that cause people to question our commitment to Christ. Even so, He gives us the opportunity to put our sin behind us—even when we’ve failed miserably. God allows us to turn things around dramatically and start anew. But when it comes to second chances, we have a choice in the matter as well. God stands willing to forgive, but we must approach Him. So when we sin, we have two ways to address it. We can confess it to God, ask His forgiveness, turn away from it, and experience the joy of His forgiveness. Or we can try to conceal our sin, refuse to admit guilt, and experience the consequences and repercussions of our wrongdoing. In the book of Deuteronomy, God posed a challenge to His people. He said, “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life” (30:19–20 NLT). It’s amazing that some of those people, after hearing God’s challenge, consciously chose death. And it’s even more amazing that people today still choose death. You see, choosing death is essentially what we do when we choose to go against God and His Word. Jesus said of His followers, “My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life” (John 10:10 NLT). That’s the life you chose when you received Jesus as Savior and Lord. But the key to enjoying a rich and satisfying life is obedience. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 28:13, “People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy” (NLT). You can’t cover your sin. You can’t run from it. There is only one way to get rid of your sin and obtain true life. It’s at the cross of Jesus Christ. The choice is yours. Choose life. Reflection question: What would turning from a specific sin look like in your life? We sat down at the Sea of Galilee with an Israeli special forces commander just hours after he returned from the front lines in Gaza. What followed wasn't just a conversation - it was a collision of war, faith, and the kingdom of God. In this powerful and emotional episode, we talk about everything from blowing up terror tunnels and rescuing hostages to the unseen spiritual battle raging behind the headlines. Our guest, a Jewish believer and elite IDF soldier, shares how he's been sustained through nearly 600 days of combat, what the Bible says about Gaza, and why the real hope for peace isn't political - it's prophetic. You won't hear this anywhere else. Key Takeaways: Gaza holds ancient, prophetic significance - and the war there today is deeply spiritual. Ceasefires often backfire, giving terror groups time to rearm. Political deals and military action can't fix what only the return of the Messiah can. True peace comes when hearts are transformed - not just borders. Chapter Markers: 00:01 – Sea of Galilee intro with the IDF Sergeant Major 00:21 – On-the-ground details from Gaza tunnel operations 04:11 – What it really takes for a military mission to succeed 07:33 – The illusion of ceasefires and international pressure 12:56 – How a Jewish believer in the army sees God's hand in the chaos 17:49 – Pulling back the mask: the theo-political battle behind the war 24:17 – Why only the Kingdom of God can bring lasting peace 26:48 – A former radical Muslim's transformation and the future hope Stay connected as we continue to unpack the prophetic story unfolding in real-time.
