All these questions and more come up during “The Holocrons of Fate” (Rebels Season 3, Ep. 3) as our heroes have to contend once again with an angry Maul. ↫Story↬ (Story written by me! For more stories like these, check me out on Wattpad: https://www.wattpad.com/user/Kaila_Falcon) .......... You'd known Kanan Jarrus for as long as you could remember. Well, you'd first known him as Caleb Dume, but that was before the world got flipped upside down and the soldiers you'd once fought alongside like brothers turned against you both - ordered to kill. The pair of you had ran. Ran until you'd found yourselves once more fighting for a worthy and noble cause - alongside a family once more. But regardless of how long you've known the brown haired Jedi for, you can't quite say you've ever seen him this annoyed… yet so fondly determined. Ezra Bridger, yet another Force-sensitive boy the Empire had yet to find, was taken under the wing of your friend a few months ago after a run-in on the very planet you're on now - Lothal. ‘Ezra's a fiery one, that's for sure,' you chuckle inwardly, watching from the overhang of the cave the three of you had set up camp in as the boy works to keep himself from teetering off the edge of the cliff in a one-handed handstand, Kanan by his side. “Focus. Focus on letting go,” He urges, earning a scoff from the younger one. “Letting go? I'd rather hold on if you don't mind.” At this, Kanan shakes his head, passing Ezra a disapproving glance. “Enough jokes. Focus.” “I'm trying!” “Do or do not, there is no try,” The Jedi reminds, a rather stern expression crossing his features, visible from even the slight distance from where you watch, silently peering through the light rain. “What does that even mean? How can I do something if I don't try to do it?” Ezra muses, dropping rather clumsily to his feet, rubbing his shoulders with a frown, his damp hair falling in front of his eyes. “Well… You see…” Kanan trails off, searching for a valid explanation that no one even back at the Temple ever knew the answer to - no one besides the Grand Master himself. “Actually, that one always confused me too, but Master Yoda sure used to say it a lot.” From your side, Hera's droid by the name of Chopper mutters something along the lines of a disapproving laugh, no doubt unimpressed by your friend's apparent lack of an explanation. Hearing the droid, Ezra shoots you and he a look, clearly angry and beyond annoyed. Seeing his student's shift in moods, Kanan gently places a hand on the boy's shoulder, guiding him a bit farther down the grassy path, away from the rock ledge, un-clipping his two-part Saber from his belt and assembling it. “Here. let's try something else.” The pair's footsteps retreat from your senses as they wander away from your direct view, their faint voices and their presence in the Force the only thing keeping you company. And as you allow their chatter and training to fade into a constant murmur, the Astromech leaving your side with a few soft beeps and whistles, you settle on the blanket laid out beneath you, closing your eyes and… letting go. Something that you're sure Ezra will soon understand how to do. Times are changing for the better… and maybe, with three Jedi standing together… Maybe the fight against the Empire stands a chance after all. .......... ↫Connect With Me!↬ My Website (Containing my socials + Contact info + Idea submission forms + other awesome, free stuff!) https://sites.google.com/view/kaila-falcon .......... ↫Disclaimer↬ None of these sounds, songs or images used to make this are mine. You can count This is the Way Podcast among the many that would gladly sing the praises of Bryce Dallas Howard this week after a fantastic installment of The Mandalorian, season 2.5 (though it masqueraded as The Book of Boba Fett season 1, episode 5). It's Mando heavy, like a lightsaber in the hands of a novice. There's callbacks to themes galore, even literally (like when Grogu's theme is heard on the star liner while Din Djarin is looking at the bindle bundle). Easter eggs? If you're looking for them, sure. Lore drops? Does the possibility of a mythosaur lurking in the waters below the mines of Mandalore appeal to you? It turns out watching Star Wars: Rebels actually did pay off. Steve includes a string of clips in this one to show how Caleb Dume (aka Kanan Jarrus) explained the heft of the Darksaber to one Sabine Wren. You know, the young lady that gifted it to Bo-Katan Kryze and brought doom upon the planet? Just kidding. We don't believe in the curse. Unless there was one placed in the beskar hilt by Tarre Vizla through some Force imbuement. Hmmm... Some might say the best episode of The Book of Boba Fett didn't even feature the namesake, but I have hope that all things will tie together in the end. There was plenty to chat about today. After those things another thing happened. See if you can keep track of it all. This week in Who Got What we hear more crying about Eric's harsh "rules" about the segment. It's called Who GOT What, people. How do you handle it when you or your significant other sees someone hot out in public? You might be surprised. How about The Bad Batch? This week, Mike tackles the comic starring Caleb Dume/Kanan Jarrus from Star Wars Rebels, detailing how he survived order 66, why he changed his name, what happened to his master Depa Billaba and the differences between the event shown in this 2015 comic and in the first episode of the Bad Batch show! Plus hear how far clones will go to complete order 66 and Mike reads out the warning message Obi-Wan sets up to warn Jedi of order 66 (as seen in Revenge Of The Sith)! These 6 comics take place around 19BBY, with the prologue set at 4BBY. All issues were written by Greg Weisman, with Pepe Larraz as the artist on issues 1-5 and Jacopo Camagni as artist on issue 6, with David Curiel as colour artist for all 6 issues. Issue 1 was released April 2015, issue 6 was released September 2015, the trade paperback collection was released November 2015 and the hardcover (collecting issues 1-12) was released December 2016. For more info on Kanan & Hera Syndulla, read John Jackson Miller's book, A New Dawn and be sure to watch all four seasons of Star Wars Rebels! Make sure you check the feed of Comics In Motion for the upcoming show about the first two episodes of the Bad Batch! The last week on SWCIC, episode 53, Mike tackled the ominous arc Hope Dies, starting in the 50th issue of the main Star Wars run! As well as tackling this dark story-arc with the usual gang of the original trilogy, this episode features a lot of space battles, numerous recognisable characters from A New Hope getting killed, details of Vader's Star Destroyer; The Executor, and so much more! Check out Mike's Patreon, where he releases 2 episodes of his show “Afterthoughts” a week (with 2 episodes are *FREE* to anyone: season 1 of The Witcher and the review of The Phantom Menace), plus there are unsplit full-length episodes of GCC, additional photos (including early access to photos of comics for this very show) and more, so if you want to support the show and get more content for only £1 a month, check it out at http://patreon.com/genuinechitchat Mike also appeared on episode 16 Frank Burton's I Like The Sound podcast: https://spoti.fi/3ue8ma3 Mike & 4 other members of Comics In Motion did a massive 5-person discussion on Zack Snyder's Justice League, found on this very feed: https://spoti.fi/3lVDsQo Mike was on the 20th Century Geek podcast to talk about his 3 “Desert Island Comics” here: http://spoti.fi/3r1UOvZ Mike & Megan were also on the Batman retrospective on 20th Century Geek, where they discuss Batman '66, the four Burtonverse Batman movies, Mask Of The Phantasm and the Dark Knight trilogy, check it out part 1 here: https://spoti.fi/3sTeN2m Mike was recently on Podcasts We Listen To, speaking about his show Genuine Chit-Chat and next week he talks all about this show and his love of Star Wars: http://spoti.fi/3uus0PT Find Mike @GenuineChitChat on Twitter, @Genuine_ChitChat on Instagram & /GenuineChitChat on Facebook! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/comics-in-motion-podcast/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/comics-in-motion-podcast/support

Hey Rebels, Go Find Your Boy! This week on the show Johnny and Brian bid a fond farewell to Star Wars Rebels. Plus they speculate where Disney and Lucasfilm might take the next animated series. Star Wars Rebels Season 4.5 Cast & Crew Created by Simon Kinberg Dave Filoni Carrie Beck Based on Star Wars by George Lucas Composer Kevin Kiner Cast Taylor Gray as Ezra Bridger Freddie Prinze, Jr. as Kanan Jarrus Vanessa Marshall as Hera Syndulla Tiya Sircar as Sabine Wren Steven Blum as Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios Dave Filoni as “Chopper” (credited as “Himself” prior to the series finale) Ashley Eckstein as Ahsoka Tano Star Wars Rebels Season 4.5 Episodes “Jedi Night” While Hera is being tortured by Governor Pryce, Ezra, Kanan and Sabine prepare to extract her from Imperial captivity. With Admiral Thrawn absent on Coruscant, they infiltrate the Lothalian Imperial command center using gliders that they built, and while Ezra and Sabine secure a gunship as an escape craft, Kanan recovers Hera’s kalikori—an important family heirloom that was taken by Thrawn earlier in the series—and frees Hera before she (under the effect of a truth serum) can reveal the location of the Rebel base. As they...

There are a bunch of characters in Star Wars with Biblical names, and like in the Bible, these names are significant. So this week I try to tease out this significance--some serious, some clearly quite a fun stretch--and it even leads to some speculation on Ezra Bridger's and Kan...I mean Caleb Dume's destinies in season 4 of Rebels and beyond. I start, of course, with St. Luke the Evangelist Farmboy. Also, 3 weeks until The Last Jedi! I give a few thoughts, as well as on Phasma and the Battlefront II story mode. Finally, since this is the last week of the Church calendar and coming up to the new film, this closes out "Season 1" of For Christ's Sake, Anakin! It's been a fun ride, and I know it'll keep going. So stay tuned for "Season 2," and lots of Last Jedi deliciousness! Follow me on twitter and instagram. Thanks as always for listening, and MTFBWY

It's been awhile, but not as long as the wait for Episode VIII is going to be.Still, it was worth it, given co-hosts Matt Moore and Jeff McGee dive into the comics released since our last issue back in January. (Has it really been almost a month?) and also examine the final sales estimates for comics in 2015, as compiled by John Jackson Miller at his Comichron website.Kanan, issue #10 (just two more issues to go until it comes to an end) sees Caleb Dume, the Clone Troopers and Master Billaba draw inexorably closer to the showdown with General Grevious and, of course, a resolution on Kaller with the Rebels team that Kanan is leading. The issue, written by Greg Weisman and illustrated by Pepe Larraz also stands out for its introduction of a new character in its pages who also appeared in the current season of the Rebels TV show.Star Wars #15 is a luxurious tapestry, with Jason Aaron scripting another tale of Ben Kenobi on Tatooine, as he watches over the young Luke Skywalker. From here on out, any such story focused on Ben during his time on the desert world will now be referred worldwide as "an #ObiOneShot." So as it is written, so let it be done. But what truly makes this issue shine is the compelling and richly textured illustrations by

After a holiday break -- and a momentous distraction at the cinema -- the Star Wars stories in Marvel's comics are calling to us again and are they ever loud! (Have you felt it?)From the conclusion to the best-selling Vader Down crossover to further exploration of a young Caleb Dume's performance as a padawan in the Clone Wars to finding out what, exactly, happened to that medal Chewbacca got for helping to destroy the Death Star, the most recent batch of comics carries the Saga's undercurrents forward and, co-hosts Jeff McGee and Mat Moore theorize, into The Force Awakens. We also examine the decision to cancel Kanan may mean and ponder what could replace it. Then there's the Star Wars effect on 2015's comic sales that saw four Star Wars comics rank among the top 20-selling books for the year.-----------------------------------------------Purchase your tickets toThe Force Awakenshere!Click here for all issues of Comics With Kenobi!Contact Us: comics@coffeewithkenobi.com------------------------------------------------

Vader is down, but actually Darth Vader is really up. So far up that all the hype surrounding the six-issue crossover IS worth it! He's also amazingly lethal and so precise that it's scary. Sidious plus Dooku plus Darth Maul plus Kylo Ren scary. But that's just one part of this issue of Comics With Kenobi as hosts Jeff McGee and Matt Moore examine how Caleb Dume reacts to becoming a padawan in the pages of Kanan #8 and agreeing that the Han Solo's wife storyline, while intriguing, was a bit of a letdown and, frankly, took far too long to wrap up.Still, Star Wars 12 was dynamic, with Han Solo again taking up a lightsaber, along with Chewbacca and Leia, while readers are -- we think -- introduced to the 501st, aka Vader's Fist, in the new, established canon.Meanwhile, we continue to love on Chewbacca which, with #4, continues to its quick, breezy pace while showcasing not just the wookiee we love, but the pugnacious Zarro, too. Then we turn back to Vader Down, blasting through Darth Vader #13 which is a thrill ride because of its cinematic influences, superb story flow and character development. In today’s issue Matt Moore and Jeff McGee welcome Marvel Comics editor Heather Antos! She's got lots to talk about when it comes to Star Wars, the Star Wars comics and how such delicate and deeply intricate stories are told, given they're all in canon. We also parse parse the events of the second arc of Star Wars: Kanan, as the team from Star Wars: Rebels returns to the planet Kaller, site of some of the most intensely personal experiences that turned Caleb Dume into Kanan Jarrus. Meanwhile, in the pages of Lando #4, the mystery about those Sith artifacts deepens and Lando is reunited with a friend and perhaps foe as he deals with the Dark Side run amok aboard Emperor Palpatine's yacht.-----------------------------------------------Click here for all issues of Comics With Kenobi!Contact Us: comics@coffeewithkenobi.com------------------------------------------------Help support Coffee With Kenobi via our Patreon page!Purchase your Coffee With Kenobi tee shirt here!
