SEASON 2 EPISODE 98: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: You and I have 305 days until the election and the GOOD news is: if the Supreme Court rules Trump is immune from prosecution for anything he did while president OR if the Supreme Court rules the 14th Amendment DOESN'T disqualify him from the ballot OR if the Supreme Court rules both… Joe Biden can declare himself president for life, he can arrest the Supreme Court, and he can detain Trump without charges or trial and the Supreme Court has just ruled there's not a goddamned thing anybody can do about it, including them. Well thank god THAT'S settled. Happy New Year! I am mystified by the sanctimonious criticisms of Maine striking Trump from the ballot from its Senator Angus King and "Democratic" Congressman Jared Golden. They have decided the Constitution wasn't enough and decided on their own that we needed HIGHER BARRIERS before as a nation we could defend ourselves against a psychotic dictator-in-waiting who wants to turn the government into a personal revenge factory and oh by the way the only thing he's going to remember about YOU Angus King, is that you voted to impeach him. “Under the established Constitutional process," said Senator King from atop his high horse, "absent a final judicial determination of a violation of the 14th Amendment's disqualification clause, I believe the decision as to whether or not Trump should rest with the people as expressed in free and fair elections. This is the ultimate check within our Constitutional system,” This isn't a matter of interpretation for the courts, or for you, Senator King. It's what the 14thAmendment SAYS as opposed to what a fragment of your voters want you to tell them it says. What it SAYS is, your Senate AND the House have a right to REMOVE the disqualification of Donald Trump by a two-thirds vote. It exists. It exists right now. It only STOPS existing if you OVERRIDE IT. By 75 to 25, thank you. That's what it says. THAT is the ultimate check within our Constitutional System. I hope you can hear me up there floating on that cloud above it all. Speaking of, congratulations to The New York Times, which addresses disqualification by quoting Judge Michael Luttig, and balancing him with someone who wrote commercial scripts for Dunkin' Donuts and an L.A. democrat who went on Fox to say he's mad at Joe Biden. And congratulations to The Washington Post for buying out the only one of its reporters who got it - Greg Sargent. But genuine thinks to Green Day, which did what the rest of us can almost never do - pierce the MAGA/Trump Cult/Fascist bubble and show its cultists, to their shock, that they are not a majority and not at all liked. It's shocking that such penetrations come during Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve - but it's worth singing about! B-Block (27:45) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: She allegedly liquored up underaged teenagers at her daughter's 17th birthday party. Is she A) a drag queen B) a trans-gendered swimmer C) a librarian or D) the founder of the “Keeping Kids In School PAC” and former Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor?; The right-wing pundit who boasts of how The Statue of Liberty is better than any European art; The passing of Tom Foty. (35:25) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Fox kills the wrong Frank Thomas. Aaron Rodgers has now descended into using antisemitic tropes. And Michael Flynn Jr. sticks his father with a new name: "General Flynn-Bitch." C-Block (41:55) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: We're now in the 25th anniversary year of the night - before Game 1 of the World Series which I was covering for Fox - where an Atlanta hotel gave me a room next to a choir that spent the entire night practicing for a competition the next day. It then tried to make it up to me by offering me, instead...THE PRESIDENTIAL SUITE.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Did you miss any of The Rich Zeoli Show this week? It's ok. We forgive you. But now is your chance to catch-up on all the action: On Tuesday night, Pennsylvanians elected Democrat John Fetterman to the U.S. Senate. Then, Giordano spends time discussing the decision by the RNC to withdraw from the Commission on Presidential Debates that sets debates, telling why he indeed supports the decision, pointing out the bias of past moderators, asking listeners who they would like to see moderate future debates. Then, Liz Preate-Havey, Chair of the Montgomery County Republicans, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to tell why her County's branch of the GOP decided to offer their endorsement for Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate Dave White. First, Giordano asks Preate-Havey to take us through the genesis of the endorsement, with the Chair taking us through the process that lead to her offering support for White. Preate-Havey tells that many constituents have been reaching out to the organization asking them for who to support, and explains that former President Donald Trump's comments made about White's opponent Bill McSwain played into their decision to support White. In addition, Liz comments on the potential opponent in a gubernatorial general election, being current AG Josh Shapiro, and tells why the organization has decided to also throw their support for Clarice Schillinger for Lieutenant Governor. Full Hour | To lead off today's second hour, Pennsylvania State Rep. Amen Brown, who represents West Philadelphia, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss why he is publicly calling for something to change regarding the rampant illegal dirt bikes and ATVs in the city of Philadelphia. First, Giordano asks Representative Brown for his assessment on the underlying causes for the spike in violence in the city, with Brown telling that repeat offenders are getting off regularly leading to a lack of accountability and a feeling of lawlessness. Rep. Brown explains what needs to be done within the community of Philadelphia, with those who have shared experiences, to push back against the spread of violence. Then, Giordano hones in on the initial issue, asking Rep. Brown what he's doing to try to stop the regular parades of illegal dirt bikes and ATVs, with Rep. Brown explaining a proposed legislation that will make it so government officials can keep confiscated vehicles rather than auction them back, many times with the original owner bidding on and winning back their vehicle. Then, Clarice Schillinger rejoins the Dom Giordano Program after joining us this past Friday during Radiothon as she runs for Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania. After a conversation off air during Radiothon, Schillinger made the point to Dom that the Lt. Gov. runs independently from the Governor, which made Dom think that he'd like to endorse Clarice for the position. Clarice has been a mainstay on the Dom Giordano Program after involving herself in local elections through school board races after launching both Keeping Kids in School and Back to School PA, and tells why educational issues hold incredible importance to both her and her campaign. Also, Clarice updates issues she's fighting for across the state, and Dom officially offers his endorsement for Schillinger. (Photo by Getty Images)

Clarice Schillinger, longtime regular guest of the Dom Giordano Program, offering her expertise on school board issues, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to make a huge announcement. Schillinger, the former President of Keeping Kids in School and Back to School PA PAC, tells why she's decided to run for lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania, and explains why her experience working to get apolitical school board officials elected would succeed while holding an executive seat. Schillinger and Giordano discuss issues persisting throughout the State, with Clarice explaining that do-nothing politicos have led us to state-wide failures in crime and Coronavirus. Then, after playing Dom's Money Melody, Dom continues discussing crime in Philadelphia, playing back a portion of today's inauguration press conference for District Attorney Larry Krasner's second term, with Krasner alleging that we're seeing a nationwide surge of progressive policies because people want to be safe. After that, Joan Cullen, President of the Pennridge School District, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to explain why she and her district have decided to welcome in the opinions of parents in determining curriculum, going against the grain of school boards prioritizing progressive ideology over the wants and needs of parents. Conflict arose last week after a policy set forth by the board caused at least one LGBTQ book, “Heather Has Two Mommies,” to be removed from school libraries. Giordano asks about the decision, offering the progressive point of view, with Cullen explaining that there are certain issues that should be taught when parents find the need appropriate. Dom Giordano, WPHT host and former teacher, has dedicated much of his daily show toward parents who are taking it into their own hands to push back against school boards that have a negative impact on their children. This has culminated in a weekly podcast on education, Readin', Writin', and Reason, which has allowed wonderful relationships to develop between Giordano, educators, and parents throughout the country who are speaking out against overbearing school boards. This week, Dom is first joined by Beth Ann Rosica, executive director of Back to School PA, Clarice Schillinger's group, rejoins Readin' Writin' and Reason for some concerning news out of Montgomery County. Rosica announces that it has come to the group's attention that Montgomery County is teetering on the decision to close in-person education and instead revert to virtual learning due to positive cases in schools. Beth tells Giordano about how the group uncovered this consideration, and explains whether this is a county-wide issue or just one particular school district. Then, Rosica tells what parents could do in an effort to prevent schools from closing up again, calling on parents to contact commissioners and administrators to make it clear that this option should not be considered. For more information on Back to School PA, head to BackToSchoolPA.com Then, Tony Kinnett returns to Readin' Writin' and Reason. Mr. Kinnett, Executive Director of Chalkboard Review, is a science curriculum consultant in the Indianapolis Public School system who received a suspension after calling attention to the seeping of Critical Race Theory into Indianapolis public curriculum. Kinnett explains the situation that got him into hot water with his bosses, explaining the radical political stances of administrators openly propagated by the school district. Then, Kinnett updates the audience as to whether he expects to get his job back, and tells the legal course he plans to pursue if he is not reinstated. Finally, to round things out, Fox News medical expert Dr. Nicole Saphier joins Readin', Writin', and Reason. First, Dom asks her about her successful book, Panic Attack: Playing Politics with Science in the Fight Against COVID-19, bringing in current events, asking the Doctor how she would deal with Omicron if she were in Dr. Fauci's role. Dr. Saphier tells of her strategy, stressing the importance in transparency and science when announcing and determining solutions for public safety. Then, Giordano and Dr. Saphier get into a conversation discussing whether children should get the vaccination, to which Dr. Saphier offers both the pros and cons of vaccinating children. In today's final hour, Dom Giordano announces his 2021 Local Person of the Year after a week-long event in which he asked for listeners to both nominate and vote on who they believe deserve the title. After tabulating the votes, it was determined that Dr. David Damsker would be awarded the Local Person of the Year, but regrettably due to politics, Dr. Damsker was unable to join the Dom Giordano Program to accept the award. Giordano plays back clips of Dr. Damsker, further explaining reasons behind the nomination and award, and tells how notable the other nominees were, reflecting upon the years of Edward Durr, Steve Keeley, and Clarice Schillinger. Then, after playing his Money Melody for the day, Giordano moves into a discussion about the political scene both nationally and locally, discussing the chances of Dr. Oz in the Senate race and other Republicans who have thrown their hat into the ring. John McNesby, President of FOP Lodge 5, Philadelphia's police union, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to update the audience on the status of an off-duty police officer who was shot after honking his horn at a person who had double parked. McNesby tells that the officer was able to heroically drive himself to Temple University hospital, and started providing details of the incident during a time many would be paralyzed by shock. Then, Giordano asks McNesby for his thoughts on the rampant crime in Philadelphia, asking him for his underlying causes behind the situation, which McNesby, similarly to McSwain, chalks up to a lack of accountability wrought on by progressive policies pushed by Mayor Kenney and DA Krasner. Then, Beth Ann Rosica, executive director of Back to School PA, Clarice Schillinger's group, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program for some concerning news out of Montgomery County. Rosica announces that it has come to the group's attention that Montgomery County is teetering on the decision to close in-person education and instead revert to virtual learning due to positive cases in schools. Yesterday, the National School Board Association sent a letter to President Biden asking for assistance in dealing with grassroots organizations and efforts to hold board members accountable for the implementation of radically political curricula. In the letter, the organization asks the Federal government to label these parents as domestic terrorists. Schillinger, the head of one these organizations titled Back to School PA, joins the Dom Giordano Program to respond to the letter sent by the NSBA. Also, Schillinger reveals a win she's had in Harrisburg, after she pushed to have the school code changed away from granting school boards ultimate power in deeming emergencies. As it currently sits, school boards could theoretically close schools for up to 4 years, and Clarice has found a way to chance that. In addition, Schilling provides an update on Back to School PA, a political action committee dedicated to raising funds for board candidates who prioritize the needs of parents above that of the union and government. Schillinger tells what she worries about after the announcement, explaining that if he can do this using a backdoor, there is nothing stopping him from closing schools again. Schillinger takes us through lawsuits that are playing out in courts that will allow for a potential injunction on such overbearing edicts, but asks, in the meantime, what are our children supposed to do? In addition, Schillinger updates the progress of her organization, noting that they have now spent $300,000 funding local school board candidates to counter the backing provided by teachers unions. Clarice Schillinger, a local mother who founded Keeping Kids in School and now heads up the Back to School PA PAC, returns to the Dom Giordano Program for an update after local investor Paul Martino donated half a million dollars to help grassroots school board candidates in races against candidates backed heavily by school boards. Since the culmination and announcement of the Back to School PA initiative, over 40 advocates have reached out, with Clarice interviewing over 30 candidates for $10,000 checks throughout the state of Pennsylvania. Clarice notes that parents are fired up, tired of being treated the way they are in school board meetings, and the only thing that can change in schools is by electing school board members that represent the voters rather than teachers unions. Then, Clarice forecasts the situation in schools, bringing us through hotly contested school board meetings throughout the state, explaining what is happening in towns such as Pennsbury. Paul Martino, Managing General Partner at Bullpen Capital, joins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss why he has decided to infuse a half million dollars into school board races around Pennsylvania to form the Back to School PA PAC. Martino begins by telling a bit about himself, explaining that he's originally from the area and currently has children in the Central Bucks School Board. Martino, who had no idea what was going on with school boards two years ago, has become heavily involved in following the work of Clarice Schillinger and the Keeping Kids in School PAC as she pushes back against overbearing school boards. Clarice Schillinger, now longtime friend of the show and founder of the Keeping Kids in School PAC, returns to the show to announce a great new initiative. Due to her recent success in school board primary elections, in which candidates she backed won 94 out of their 96 races, Clarice has secured up to $500,000 in donations from a Pittsburgh donor to continue her work, now under the name Back to School PA PAC. The donor, Paul Martino, committed to write up to fifty $10,000 checks to fifty concerned parents, activists, and organizers across the state that want to start their own Political Action Committees and influence their school board races. Schillinger tells of her history running the Keeping Kids in School PAC, what she hopes to do with the new PAC, and what issues are most important to the new PAC. This week, Dom is joined by Clarice Schillinger, Founder of Keeping Kids in School PAC, who first joined us near the start of the pandemic as a concerned parent hoping to encourage her school to open for in-person schooling. Since then, the trailblazer has founded an entire organization dedicated to electing school board members who prioritize the needs of children over the needs of outside groups such as teachers' unions, and saw incredible success during Pennsylvania's primary elections earlier this week. Also, Giordano is joined by one of the aforementioned candidates, Keven Gessner, who blew away the competition in his home district of Council Rock. After receiving an email from a listener, Dom Giordano learns that school board candidates are able to cross file and run in both party primaries, both Democrat and Republican, Dom looks to friend Clarice Schillinger of the Keeping Kids in School PAC for more information. Schillinger explains that yes, since the position is apolitical, candidates are able to cross file and in fact, all of her candidates running have indeed filed for both the Democrat and Republican primaries. Also, Schillinger provides an update on her candidates as they try and push back against overbearing school boards hesitating over re-opening schools in the pandemic, and explains how listeners can use Right To Know requests to uncover who is funding which candidates, in order to find which candidates are tied to teacher's unions, which have used their leverage to keep children out of schools.
