We're joined in Cozumel, Mexico for a very special, long awaited conversation with Coheed & Cambria vocalist/guitarist: the great Claudio Sanchez. We discuss Claudio's journey through music discovery and picking up the guitar long before Coheed, how a trip to Paris birthed "The Amory Wars" concept, the real life events and tragedies that inspired each album's concept, existing outside of genres and scenes, the immediate impact of "Welcome Home" and the writing/recording processes from "The Second Stage Turbine Blade" all the way to "The Father of Make Believe" -- a truly phenomenal episode with one of modern music's greatest guitar players and songwriters. Thank you to Claudio for joining us and for having us on the S.S. Neverender. We are one among the fence.______________________ Edited by Steven Grise (@iamoneonenineseven) • Title sequence by Nicholas Marzluf (@marzluf) HardLore: A Knotfest Series Join the HARDLORE PATREON to watch every single weekly episode early and ad-free, alongside exclusive monthly episodes: https://patreon.com/hardlorepod Join the HARDLORE DISCORD: https://discord.gg/jA9rppggef Cool links: Get 15% off DUNABLE GUITARS with code HARDLORE from now until Christmas: https://dunableguitars.comGet 15% OFF @manscaped + Free Shipping with promo code HARDLORE at MANSCAPED.com! On 13 November 2015, 90 people were shot dead by gunmen at the Bataclan theatre in France during an Eagles of Death Metal concert. A further 40 people were killed in co-ordinated terror attacks by jihadists across the city on the same night. Rachel Naylor speaks to British couple Justine Merton-Scott and Tony Scott, who managed to escape the venue by climbing out of a skylight. Eye-witness accounts brought to life by archive. Witness History is for those fascinated by the past. We take you to the events that have shaped our world through the eyes of the people who were there. For nine minutes every day, we take you back in time and all over the world, to examine wars, coups, scientific discoveries, cultural moments and much more. Recent episodes explore everything from the death of Adolf Hitler, the first spacewalk and the making of the movie Jaws, to celebrity tortoise Lonesome George, the Kobe earthquake and the invention of superglue. We look at the lives of some of the most famous leaders, artists, scientists and personalities in history, including: Eva Peron – Argentina's Evita; President Ronald Reagan and his famous ‘tear down this wall' speech; Thomas Keneally on why he wrote Schindler's List; and Jacques Derrida, France's ‘rock star' philosopher. You can learn all about fascinating and surprising stories, such as the civil rights swimming protest; the disastrous D-Day rehearsal; and the death of one of the world's oldest languages.(Photo: A Parisian holds a flower towards the Bataclan on the anniversary of the attack in 2021. The Bataclan music venue has become synonymous with the Paris terror attacks of November 2015, when 130 people were killed, 90 of them while attending an Eagles of Death Metal concert at the Bataclan. Photographer Marion Ruszniewski was on assignment at the venue and was injured in the attack. Ten years on, she tells us about the events of that tragic evening, as well as her feelings about returning to work at the Bataclan a year later. Plus, as Marion publishes a book detailing two decades of concert photography, we discuss the resilient spirit that saw Parisians return to the bars, cafés and concert halls in the aftermath of the tragedy.
In der Nacht vom 13. November 2015 richteten Attentäter in Paris 130 Menschen hin. On this episode of The Metal Maniacs Podcast, hosts Jay Ingersoll and Modd sit down via Zoom with one of the Midwest's most terrifyingly powerful death metal forces — CASKET ROBBERY! Hailing from Madison, Wisconsin, this band has carved out a bloody niche in modern metal by blending crushing grooves, eerie melodies, and horror-inspired atmosphere into a sound that's unmistakably their own.We dig deep into the dark roots and evolution of the band, from their humble beginnings in 2011 with founding guitarist Cory Scheider (ex-Luna Mortis, Epicurean), to the arrival of their ferocious vocalist Megan Orvold-Scheider, whose commanding voice and intense stage presence have become synonymous with Casket Robbery's brand of death metal destruction. We cover everything from the inception of the band and the origin of their name, to their writing process, tone crafting, production methods, and the bloody live shows that leave fans both terrified and exhilarated. Casket Robbery's story is one of dedication, evolution, and sheer brutality — with a wink and a scream.
Happy Veterans Day! We kicked things off with a trip to England, where the stadium designers are still laughing. We found our dream girl in a Chilean beauty pageant, and also a drinking study that doesn't add up, plus it's Tuesday so we read our Penny Power "Peeves of the Week."

In this episode, Maurice introduces himself to the Trophytalk listeners and talks about his approach to gaming and then some of the memories we have playing Guitar Hero, what makes a good guitar hero game and for the main bulk of the episode we design a setlist for a Guitar Hero revival game from scratch. With over 60 songs mentioned we used our extensive music knowledge in Rock and Metal to create a setlist that features Hits, B-sides, and Deep cuts from a variety of artists that stretch across the rock and metal sub genres whether you're into Classic Rock, Death Metal, Alt Metal, Alt Rock, Prog, we try to cater to everyone. With each track mentioned we talk about some of our memories / thoughts of the artists bringing this episode to over 2.5hrs in length, one of Trophytalk networks longest episodes, so turn it up to 11 and get ready to talk riffs! Myself and Maurice will be back for a Part 2 so please look forward to that, but for now we took the time to produce a Spotify Playlist of the songs mentioned in order so you can listen to this fun little game idea, please enjoy and be excellent to eachother! https://spotify.link/t5NIf27qEXb

In the grand theater of heavy metal, moments arise when the tectonic plates of the genre shift, heralding the arrival of something monumental. This is one of those moments. This week, two of the most formidable forces in modern metal, Sweden's power metal titans Sabaton and Finland's melodic death metal masters Omnium Gatherum, are launching major campaigns with the announcement of highly anticipated new albums. These are not mere record releases; they are strategic deployments of sonic force, meticulously crafted to conquer new territory and fortify their legacies. At the helm of these campaigns are two of the genre's most respected commanders: Sabaton frontman Joakim Brodén and Omnium Gatherum's founding guitarist Markus Vanhala. This week's edition of The Loaded Radio Podcast brings these two masterminds together for an exclusive deep-dive conversation, a rare summit where the architects of war anthems and melancholic requiems share their strategies, their philosophies, and the stories behind their new masterworks.
