Podcasts about The Dreamers

I'm back, boo—and I have some explaining to do. During our quiet two-month hiatus, I seriously considered ending After Hours With Amanda. Instead, I found myself heading to Disney's Created in LA and confronting some very loud imposter syndrome along the way.I'm sharing what happened, why the podcast needed room to breathe, the new Dreamers & Believers series, and what it felt like to almost walk away from an opportunity I had dreamed about for years. This is about Disney, yes—but even more, it's about letting a dream change without deciding it's dead. Grab your bevie. Disney trips are supposed to be about being in the moment. So why does it feel like we spend half the day staring at our phones? That's the problem behind a project Tim has been quietly working on: a new Disneyland app designed to actually help you use your phone less.In this episode, we finally talk about the app, how it can suggest what to do next based on your family, location, preferences and current wait times, plus ride alerts, lock-screen wait times, food planning and more. The goal is simple: less scrolling, less bouncing around the park, and more time actually enjoying Disneyland.Of course, this episode also completely goes off the rails. We talk about the end of the Play Disney Parks app, possible app names, rides that constantly break down, how Disney trips change when you become a parent, and somehow end up debating whether we should book flights to Florida and finally take a Disney Cruise. So yes, we built an app to get off our phones. And then talked about it for an hour.Shop Main St. Dreamers:https://mainstdreamers.com

What separates people who talk about acquiring a business from those who eventually become business owners? It is not intelligence, education, or having a perfect plan. It is the willingness to take disciplined, measurable, external action. In this episode, Bruce Whipple explains why invisible work can feel productive without producing progress, how education can become a respectable hiding place, why confidence follows action, and how a strong why and consistent discipline help successful acquirers continue through rejection. You will also learn how to create execution commitments that are external, numeric, controllable, and limited to one week. Do not merely consume another piece of content. Choose one action that another person can see or respond to, and complete it today.

Welcome to the jungle of music explorations. We start off with a little discipline to make the world order lay down at our feet, so we can rest shortly while escaping into this stunning hour of music from the force of nature that is Brazil. Rainforests, indigenous people and selfmade instruments is some of the surprising elements of this months pod. The black women making gestures towards balance and we all go shopping for a little voodoo. May east and west sing together “sem teto” which means without a roof. We go to the Alto Ribeira and hear tuned in humans play music in the water with jugs and DIY flutes. All in all: music with reflections from the land of dreams. What happens when a genuine calling from God slowly turns into a need to be chosen?Harvest Bashta Grapevine joins Rita Springer for an incredibly honest conversation about worship, ambition, disappointment, prophetic words, divorce, comparison and rediscovering why she fell in love with the presence of God in the first place.Long before Harvest was a worship leader, she was a young girl praying, “God, make me a voice.” But after discovering her gift, hearing that she was “anointed,” and watching others receive the opportunities she thought God had promised her, something began to change. In this episode, Harvest and Rita wrestle with a difficult question for every gifted believer: What if your calling was never supposed to become a platform? They talk about the worship industry, the danger of building your identity around your gift, prophetic words that create unrealistic expectations, surviving deep personal disappointment, and finding freedom in simply being faithful where God has planted you.00:00 Intro01:22 Welcome & Introducing Harvest Grapevine07:02 Growing Up in Revival & a Family on Mission11:56 "Lord, Make Me a Voice"15:29 Living in the Prayer Room20:03 Marked by God vs. Chosen by God22:40 When Worship Became About People's Approval28:58 The Fast Rise of a Worship Career30:50 Losing the Doorkeeper Heart35:00 Feeling Used by Ministry39:28 Comparison, Rejection & the Industry46:15 Divorce, Disappointment & Rock Bottom49:20 God Restores Identity During Sabbatical52:16 Returning to the Prayer Room53:48 Why Worship Leaders Are Burning Out59:09 Prophecy, Calling & Expectations01:05:20 "I've Reserved You for Myself"01:11:46 The Gift Was Never the Destination01:18:42 Releasing Music vs. Loving Jesus01:22:47 Advice for Dreamers & Staying Faithful01:27:57 How to Handle Prophetic Words01:33:53 Returning to Your First Love01:35:03 Closing ThoughtsIf you're enjoying the show, please rate and review!Follow Rita on ALL Social Media: https://linktr.ee/ritaspringerIf you would like to support the Worship Is My Weapon podcast you can donate to Wearing Justice at https://give.tithe.ly/?formId=0f0e22b...

There is a phrase that quietly follows many of us throughout our lives. It is only two words long.Yet it has the power to shape careers.Relationships.Dreams.Ambitions.Even the way we experience happiness itself. The phrase is simply this."One more."One more promotion. One more degree. One more accomplishment. One more vacation. One more dollar. One more follower. One more house. One more opportunity. One more goal. One more year. One more achievement before I finally slow down.At first, there is nothing wrong with wanting more.Human beings are naturally curious. We are creators.Builders.Innovators.Dreamers.Growth is part of our nature.Without the desire to improve, civilizations would never have advanced.Art would never have evolved.Science would never have discovered.Communities would never have grown. The desire to become more capable, more compassionate, more knowledgeable, and more creative is one of humanity's greatest gifts. The problem is not growth.

What happens when you stop waiting until your kids are adults to teach them entrepreneurship, leadership, responsibility, and service? In Episode 159 of High Performance Parenting, Greg Francis sits down with his 15-year-old daughter Crissy to talk about the business and ministry she began at just 13 years old: Redwood Super Kids.Super Kids serves children ages 2–12 through live online gatherings designed to help kids understand how much God loves them while developing character, confidence, communication skills, friendships, and faith. But this conversation goes far beyond the business.Crissy shares what building something of her own has taught her about:Starting before you feel readyResponsibility and consistencyServing others with excellenceMarketing and customer serviceCommunicating with adults and childrenReceiving difficult feedbackHandling rejectionTime managementFear of failureSeparating your identity from your resultsGreg explains why their family doesn't believe children should wait until adulthood to learn entrepreneurship, leadership, and responsibility. One of Crissy's biggest discoveries was that using your gifts to serve others isn't necessarily easy, it requires hard work, sacrifice, and choosing what needs to be done even when something else would be more fun.And perhaps the most important lesson?Your identity isn't determined by your numbers, your customers, or your results. If you want to raise children who become doers instead of only dreamers, this conversation will challenge the way you think about preparing kids for adulthood.
