Send us a textI'm thrilled to share the latest episode of the Endless Possibilities podcast with you. This time, we dive deep into the mesmerizing world of lucid dreaming with none other than Robert Wagner, a true expert who has logged over a thousand lucid dreams and authored several influential books on the subject. Here's a sneak peek into the fascinating insights and lessons we uncovered:Robert defines lucid dreaming as the state where you become aware that you're dreaming. This awareness can lead to incredible control and exploration within your dreams.First Lucid Dream ExperienceRobert recounts his first spontaneous lucid dream at the age of 10 or 11, involving a baby Tyrannosaurus rex in a library. This surreal experience sparked his lifelong curiosity about dreams.Reigniting InterestInspired by Carlos Castaneda's "Journey to Ixtlan," Robert developed his own techniques for inducing lucid dreams during his teenage years, leading to his first consciously induced lucid dream.Techniques for Lucid DreamingThe dream environment is generated by the dreamer's mind. Experienced lucid dreamers often encounter "the void," a dark, sparkling space from which new dream scenes emerge.Recurring Dream FiguresDream figures may represent the dreamer's thoughts or ideas. Robert's experiment showed that some figures vanished when commanded to disappear, indicating a distinction between transient and substantial figures.Overcoming ChallengesConnect with Robert Wagner:Website: lucidadvice.comFree Online Magazine: luciddreamingmagazine.comUpcoming Workshop: "The Mini Worlds of Lucid Dreaming" in October 2024, featuring 14 experienced lucid dreamers.I hope you find this episode as enlightening and inspiring as I did. I recently came upon a podcast by a fella named Nate Hagens. The podcast, and Nate's piece de resistance is called The Great Simplification and his ideas center around the future of humans on Earth. The idea behind The Great Simplification is that humans will soon run out of energy to power or current levels of consumption and have to drastically simplify our lives to compensate for that loss.Nate also talks about the concept of Energy Blindness, which is the idea that most humans don't account for the energetic requirements of our lifestyle. This ranges from all the fuel costs of moving goods around to the pathways of fossil fuel consumption that lead to us living in temperature-controlled buildings. Most economic methods ignore the energetic costs, which is an immense error in our thinking.Nates podcast is worth more than the time you will invest listening. It has simply blown my mind. He and his guests have filled in so many gaps in my thinking that my ecological training missed. There is so much knowledge and so many unique perspectives that you will surely enjoy it.Most relevant to KEW and the Acid Tests, however, are Nate's guests. In particular, his recent guest Patrick Ophuls who has written books for 50 years under the pseudonym William Ophuls. Dr. Ophuls pretty much beat me to every punch I've pulled on KEW and summarizes incredibly eloquently a lot of what has been rolling around in my head regarding the Acid Tests. It amazes me that Pat Ophuls is not a household name, and at the same time it makes perfect sense. Ophuls has summarized why humans are poor stewards of the Earth, explained 50 years ago where we would be today, and provides extensive guidance about how we could live better.I suppose we don't care to listen. But folks like Nate and I are trying to share the knowledge that, for whatever reason, remains hidden. In this episode, I share many of my key influences that convinced me that a more indigenous, more natural, and more ecological approach to human cooperation is necessary to improve individual human lives and the existence of the human species. The answers are in our past, inherent to our distant ancestry, and likely contained within our DNA. I cite Carlos Castaneda and his books about the Toltec warrior, Don Juan Matus. The first book is hard to read but the second, A Separate Reality, and the third, A Journey to Ixtlan will open you up.I also mention Carl Jung, whose pioneering psychology and philosophy seems to rise to the top for most of my influences and his work makes the most sense to me.I mention Buddhism and meditation, which should be no surprise to return listeners. Finally, I conclude that future episodes will likely build on what I am learning from Ophuls and Hagens as I read through their own influences and stand on the shoulders of giants.

Studios, in collaboration with Altitude Film Entertainment and Ixtlan, will release JFK: DESTINY BETRAYED, Oscar®-winning writer and director Oliver Stone's four-part deep dive into the ultimate American true crime murder mystery. Thirty years after his renowned film JFK, Stone takes viewers on a thought-provoking and eye-opening journey through recently declassified evidence in the assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Subjects covered in the series include the early formation of President Kennedy's foreign policy overview and his anti-colonial convictions, which put him in opposition to the Eisenhower administration, the CIA, and the Pentagon. It's hard to believe that a story like this could get even more intense, but it does and then some as this four-part limited docu-series expands even more upon the story that we saw in Stone's recent doc JFK REVISITED: THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS.We sat down with Mr. Stone to talk about what prompted him revisiting this story, it's historical significance, how many aspects of it are still playing out on the world stage today and so very much more...

Journey to Ixtlan is the third book by Carlos Castaneda, published as a work of non-fiction by Simon & Schuster in 1972. It is about an alleged apprenticeship to the Yaqui "shaman," Don Juan. The title of this book is taken from an allegory that is recounted to Castaneda by his "benefactor" who is known to Carlos as Don Genaro ( Genaro Flores ), a close friend of his teacher don Juan Matus. "Ixtlan" turns out to be a metaphorical hometown ( or Place / Position of Being ) to which the "sorcerer" or warrior or man of knowledge is drawn to return, trying to get home. After the work of "stopping", his changed perspective leaves him little in common with ordinary people, who now seem no more substantial to him than "phantoms." The point of the story is that a man of knowledge, or sorcerer, is a changed being, or a Human closer to his true state of Being, and for that reason he can never truly go "home" to his old lifestyle again. In Journey to Ixtlan Castaneda essentially reevaluates the teachings up to that point. He discusses information that was apparently missing from the first two books regarding stopping the world which previously he had only regarded as a metaphor.

Tim Ash is a very interesting guy. He is both an authority on evolutionary psychology and digital marketing, which puts him in pretty rarified air. He is the bestselling author of Unleash Your Primal Brain and Landing Page Optimization (with over 50,000 copies sold worldwide and translated into six languages). He has been identified by Forbes as a Top-10 Online Marketing Expert, and by Entrepreneur Magazine as an Online Marketing Influencer To Watch. Our conversation with Tim focused on his most recent book, Unleash Your Primal Brain, and addressed a question very central to behavioral science today: What is rational? This led to addressing how biases and heuristics are grounded in important evolutionary foundations. Tim likens the way we talk about biases today as glitches in the matrix when we should be acknowledging them for what they are: important evolutionary tools to help us survive our environments and thrive in our tribes. We also discussed the importance of culture and its central focus on the way humans learn to be human. A paradox we discussed is that culture is dependent on tribe members passing down the cultural (social) norms to the next generation without interruption, and yet cross-tribal collaboration is what has given us an evolutionary edge. Tim notes, that what we need to do today is to “stretch beyond our current tribes needs to go and make the effort to contact other people that are very different from us.” And the consequences of not doing that, according to Tim, “ …are going to be the ones that are going to bring down the larger society.” Fascinating stuff. We hope you’ll find this conversation with this insightful researcher and speaker as exciting as we did. And if you do like it, please give us a quick 5-star rating or a two-sentence review. Dean Guedo, Canadian Sensation, joins the show today to talk about football, powerlifting, and his transition from old school training practices that left him feeling like shit, to new school training that allows him to perform at a high level and feel good at the same time. Dean’s initial love for training stems from his competitive football playing days, but after a slew of injuries, he transitioned to a career in powerlifting.  Following another slew of injuries in powerlifting, Dean went back to the drawing board and sought out ways to first fix himself, which gradually led to him helping others do the same. We discuss how to merge old school Dumb & Strong lifting sessions with a more new-school emphasis on movement selection and quality.  Essentially, we talk about how to get stupid strong, jacked and powerful while still feeling good.  Granted, we do admit there’s something to feeling like a badass when you train and so even if it’s not perfect, make sure to get your athletes that effect.  For example, if a bigger bench and swole arms make them more confident come game day, then have it. You don’t want a bunch of marshmallows getting run over left and right. We then hit on the moment that Dean realized how little he knew, and how this led him to an entirely new world of education. In particular, we discuss the light bulb that went off for both of us when we were first exposed to PRI and layout how to take models from the best in the industry and apply them to your practice while disregarding the rest. Lastly, we discuss the importance of cueing and understanding what you are trying to get out of an exercise.  In other words, if you know how to coach and cue exercises well, then you can make training the intervention. Enjoy and hit that subscribe button if you learned a thing or two. We live in a culture of disconnection. We’re disconnected from each other, from nature, from the divine. And life is disconnected from death. In fact, most of us avoid thinking about our mortality entirely. What if we learned to accept death as a natural part of life? What if we could use death to empower our decision-making? What if we engaged death as an advisor on our team? Today, Sylvia explains the value of embracing death as a part of life and bringing it into our conscious awareness. She shares her recent experience with her father’s passing, describing her own freedom from the fear of death and exploring the concept of bardo—the space between life and death. Sylvia goes on to discuss two books that changed the way she thinks about death, The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying and Journey to Ixtlan, offering insight into the indigenous belief that death walks behind our left shoulder to remind us we’re mortal. Listen in as Sylvia challenges us to look honestly at our own relationship with death and learn how a productive dialogue with death can help us prioritize what’s really important.
