[SEGMENT 2-1] Democrats have fallen 1 - Pelosi     https://www.nbcnews.com/now/video/nancy-pelosi-hospitalized-during-congressional-visit-to-luxembourg-227011141972Nancy Pelosi Falls Abroad: A Sign from God or Just Bad Balance?Pelosi's Luxembourg Adventure: From Battle of the Bulge to Battle of the Ground.Gravity's Political Statement: Pelosi Takes a Dive in Europe.Nancy Pelosi's Luxembourg Fall: A New Low in Political Travel?Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic stalwart who's held onto power longer than a stubborn hangnail, had an unexpected slip while on a congressional delegation trip in Luxembourg. The event was meant to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, but Pelosi added her own “historic fall” to the itinerary. Some might argue that this fall was more symbolic than accidental—a nudge from the universe, perhaps, hinting it's time for the geriatrics of Congress to call it quits. Pelosi, older than President Joe Biden and arguably just as accident-prone, sustained an injury that required hospitalization. At her age, recovering from a tumble is less of a bounce-back and more of a negotiation with fate. To add context, her political career has lasted so long, she could've personally lobbied FDR for Social Security. This raises the question: What was Pelosi doing in Luxembourg, anyway? The cynics might wonder if she was scouting for Electoral College votes in a European democracy or indulging in another taxpayer-funded boondoggle. After all, there's no better place to reflect on the heroism of WWII veterans than a five-star suite in Europe, right? Some suggest Pelosi's fall might be a divine intervention. The Almighty might be sending a clear message: retire already. At her age, gravity isn't just a law; it's an opponent—and one that seems to be gaining the upper hand. Pelosi's accident comes as the nation increasingly debates the issue of leadership longevity. Alongside Mitch McConnell's frequent freezes and Joe Biden's conversational detours into oblivion, Pelosi's Luxembourg stumble only underscores the need for term limits—or at least a vigorous game of shuffleboard in the congressional retirement home. Botox, as effective as it is on facial wrinkles, doesn't work on equilibrium or political stamina. As the news breaks, updates on her condition remain scant, likely because they aren't great. In classic media fashion, if it's bad for the Left, it's kept quiet. For Pelosi's critics, her fall is a moment of grim irony, as some might view her “trip” abroad as a final chapter to her political adventures. Politics, much like Pelosi's footing, is shaky these days. The nation is clamoring for new blood, fresher faces, and leaders who don't require an orthopedic specialist on speed dial. Perhaps it's time for Pelosi, McConnell, and the rest of the geriocracy to take a cue from history's battles and bow out gracefully before they're carried out involuntarily.    [SEGMENT 2-2] Democrats have fallen 2 - Van Jones Pelosi falling in Luxembourg is symbolic of the Democratic Party. They have fallen. Democrats resemble nothing of what they claim to stand for. And it's not just Conservatives saying this. For the first time in a long time, I'm watching Democrats argue openly about their party. It's the first step in a 12-step program, where some are slightly waking up. I've documented some of their mea culpas, but I also point out that while they see the error of their ways, it's only partially. Despite the wake-up call, most Leftist still hold Leftist tendencies or rationalizations. Take Van Jones for example. Jones sounded the alarm bell for Leftists, nevertheless he still missed the bigger picture. He blames Democrats for missing the digital revolution, but doesn't blame their messaging. [X] SB – Van Jones on Leftists being way off Laughing at Trump. 24-hour digital surround sound Kai Sent Aidan Ross, Jinxy, and Sketch Twitch, Kick, and Rumble Mainstream is fringe, fringe is mainstream I hate to agree with her, but I do a lot of times.   CNN's Van Jones warned on Wednesday that the entire “political class” in the country is “way off” when it comes to connecting to voters, as “fringe” platforms and voices have replaced “mainstream” outlets like his own network. Jones was one of a number of voices to participate in a panel discussion for The New York Times' Dealbook Summit this week, along with others like Kellyanne Conway and Kevin McCarthy. Jones, a former advisor to former President Barack Obama, argued that President-elect Donald Trump better understood the digital sphere and the current issues men in the country are facing than Democrats during the election. The entire political class is way off. First of all, digital is the new door knocking. You got to understand that. We were laughing our butts off at Donald Trump for suspending his door knocking campaign and letting Charlie Kirk and Elon [Musk] do a bunch of stuff online. We said, ‘these guys are idiots, these guys are stupid.' Then you start knocking on these doors. You know what people come to the door with? They're phone in their hand. They're in a 24 hour digital surround sound that has nothing to do with CNN, that has nothing to do with anything we do. “I don't what who he's talking about,” he said. Jones fretted that streamers and podcasters are bringing in views that cable news cannot come close to touching. “The mainstream has become fringe and the fringe has become mainstream,” he said. “There are platforms, there are people out there that are getting 14 million streams and we're on cable news getting one to two million.”   Jones hasn't learned that it's Democrats messaging that's the problem, not the distribution system. Remember how Obama revolutionized politics with his ground game? Much of it was built around social media, considered revolutionary at the time. Truth be told, he was going to beat McCain, even if the Obama campaign communicated by tin cans and smoke signals. Jones seems to forget that social media isn't new, and it was Obama who used it most effectively. However, Jones is right in that Leftists put way too much faith in their dying media industry. Alarm bells for the prestige media have been sounding for the better part of a decade. Decaying viewership, listenership, and so on. But Democrats dismissed the polls, because the polls reported what they didn't want to believe. But aside from Jones' warning, he said something even more profound when he declared, “I hate to agree with KellyAnne…” Why would you hate to agree with someone. Despite their political difference, if she makes a good point, simply say that. Jones revealed in that statement that he doesn't like that he's wrong. He was forced to admit that KellyAnne was right. In his defense, he's one of the few Leftists willing to do this. Still, there should be no caveat on truth.    [SEGMENT 2-3] Democrats have fallen 3 – Trump lawsuit   Potential Titles“Fake News, Real Checks: How Trump Made ABC Pay”“George Stephanopoulos: From Clinton's Spin Doctor to Trump's ATM”“Trump Turns Tables on the Media: $15M and Counting”“Stephanopoulos's Irony Overdose: A Clinton Guy Paying Trump for Defamation”“91 Indictments and a $15 Million Lawsuit Win—Who's the Real Teflon Don?”    Trump's $15 Million Smackdown: ABC, Stephanopoulos, and the Sweet Taste of Karma Imagine George Stephanopoulos—a man who spent years spinning stories for Bill Clinton, the original Oval Office scandal artist—getting his media empire handed a $15 million bill by Donald J. Trump. And not for a new golf course or gold-plated helicopter, but for defamation. That's right, George, the guy who helped a bona fide rapist into the White House, is now cutting checks for calling Trump out on rape allegations. The irony here isn't just thick; it's practically bulletproof. And Trump? Oh, he didn't pocket the cash. No, the man who's been branded every flavor of villain decided to channel the funds into a charity. Yep, a new foundation in his name, much like the one the Clintons ran but (hopefully) without the Haitian real estate scandals. This settlement is not just a win for Trump; it's a giant red rubber stamp that says, “Told ya so!” on his war against fake news. It's also a warning shot across the bow of mainstream media. CBS's 60 Minutes? You're up next, baby. Rumor has it, they might need to start fundraising to cover Trump's legal fees. Maybe they can sell some "unbiased journalism" on Etsy.  [SEGMENT 2-4] Democrats have fallen 4 – Trump lawsuit   [X] SB – Stephanopoulos with Mace [X] SB – Stephanopoulos then and now  ABC and the Blood Money Apology Here's the backstory for those just tuning in. Trump sued ABC News and George Stephanopoulos after an article from March 2024 insinuated... well, things that you really don't want to insinuate about someone running for president. But it gets better. The article was tied to an interview with Rep. Nancy Mace—a rape survivor—who not only supported Trump but also went toe-to-toe with Stephanopoulos live on air. Talk about awkward. While grilling Mace, Stephanopoulos went full smug mode, somehow managing to imply that Trump was morally bankrupt while pretending his own Clinton-era skeletons didn't exist. I mean, the guy worked for the administration that made cigars a punchline, yet he had the gall to lecture anyone else about Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-kevin-jackson-show--2896352/support.

This week on Ring of Fire! Donald Trump has finally announced where his failed attorney Alina Habba is going to land in his new administration, and she will be serving as the new Counselor to the President. This position was previously held by Kellyanne Conway, meaning that Habba has officially become the new Kellyanne. Her job, just like Conway's, will be to give Trump advice but most importantly to go out and do interviews about how awesome he is. During his interview with Meet The Press on Sunday, Donald Trump served up an incomprehensible word salad where he appeared to imply that he invented the word “groceries.” He was asked about prices and inflation, and instead of giving a coherent answer, he went on a long rant about “groceries” and then pivoted to how amazing tariffs are – but he still wouldn't say that consumers will NOT pay higher prices under his policies. All hell broke loose during a recent city council meeting in the small town of Middleton, Ohio, when JD Vance's mother demanded that the city honor her son and recognize the “role” that he played in Donald Trump's reelection. The city plans to honor him, but they don't want to rush to any conclusions just yet because he hasn't even been sworn in. This is now the second time in as many weeks that a Republican had his mommy go out and advocate on his behalf. All that, and much more, on this week's Ring of Fire Podcast!

SERIES 3 EPISODE 41: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:45) SPECIAL COMMENT: “Make them riot,” a man described by Jack Smith as a Trump campaign employee, agent, and co-conspirator, his identity redacted, replaced by the ID number “P-5,” informs a colleague on the ground at the vote counting on Election Night 2020 in Detroit. “Do it!!!" Trump Campaign knowledge that they had lost the election on November 4, 2020. Certainty from his campaign team that without vote triumphs and court orders, it was over on November 7. Withdrawal of the campaign's litigation in Arizona on November 13. 165 pages of this in Jack Smith's filing revealed by Judge Tonya Chutkan yesterday, all of it supporting what I suggested last week would be his core point: that everything Trump did after mid-November at the latest was in his private capacity of candidate, politician, fraud, traitor - and none of it was him just being a good president working his ass off to investigate a dubious election.  In a just world it would put Trump in jail until he dies there. WE only have a chance at a just world if Trump loses November 5. SPEAKING OF WHICH: Did JD Vance reveal a side hustle in the VP debate? Is he potentially running a coup against Trump? Did he play nice so it'll be Vance who takes over the Trump cult if Trump is beaten, takes it over if Trump really meant what he said about not running again if he loses, takes it over by force even if Trump DIDN'T mean it. And if Trump wins, do you think Vance would hesitate to lead a palace revolt? To invoke the 25th Amendment the moment Trump starts speaking in tongues or falls over during a speech? THE POLLING IS BIZARRE: the debate was a tie but Tim Walz won all the internal numbers from who was more prepared to be president to who got the favorability bump. Vance got above water, but in one poll Walz is now +25 and in another +37. In short, he is now the most popular national politician in the country. B-Block (29:15) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: On the second day of the  Playoff Telecasts, Baseball is surprised in court: the company that carries eight of its teams' games suddenly cancels the telecasts. Fox's David Asman confuses author Mark Helprin for pantsless ex-pundit Mark Halperin. And Chris Cuomo is so desperate to stay on television that he sides with JD Vance's lies and against journalism at the VP debate. C-Block (43:10) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: I swear somebody mentioned to me yesterday that she used to go skiing with his family. And I saw the woman involved in the story on TV over the weekend. On the SAME day, I knew the first guy - the head of CurrentTV - was going to end my TV news career, and that Uma Thurman and I would NOT be going out on a date!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

SERIES 3 EPISODE 40: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:46) SPECIAL COMMENT: JD Vance blew an otherwise substantial debate with one remark that will echo through the history of presidential campaigns the way the spoofing of Gerald Ford in 1976 by Chevy Chase did ("It was my understanding there would be no math.") Fact-checked once and only once by moderators Norah O'Donnell and Margaret Brennan about the fact that the immigrants of Springfield, Ohio, are there legally, Vance seemingly summarized the entire premise of Trumpism - deceit and using it to hamstring a cowering media. He was terrified of fact-checking, enraged by fact-checking, and finally had his mike cut because he was angry and tried to dress down the moderators by saying: "The rules were you guys weren't gonna fact check." Vance did a surprisingly smooth if not always effective job of sane-washing Trump but he could have won a debate in which Tim Walz was so nervous at the beginning that I had a brief spell of 1st Debate PTSD. But Vance ultimately had only one product to sell - Trump - and only so much lipstick to put on it, or eyeliner to put on himself. As Walz regained himself, he was practical, eloquent, and managed to pull quotes out of the Bible and the Hardware Store ("my pro-tip for today is...") He warned Trump talking about crowd sizes was not what the country would need right now in the Middle East crisis (Vance barely answered; he chose instead to introduce himself; it was a tactical disaster). And he gave the top two answers of the night, insisting that Mike Pence's decision to be a "firewall" against Trump on January 6th was why Pence "isn't on this stage tonight" and then a moving, personal story about gun violence and its myriad causes that ended with "Sometimes, it's just the guns. It's just the guns." IS IT BAD THAT KELLYANNE CONWAY THINKS HER VP CANDIDATE IS NAMED “JD WALTZ?” Is she mistaking Vance for Walz? Vance for actor J.D. Walsh? The late actor J.T. Walsh? Maybe for The Last Waltz? MEANWHILE, TRUMP SEEMS TO ACCUSE KAMALA OF MURDER EXCEPT HE SCREWS UP THE PRONOUNS: He says she might as well have held a gun in a murder case. Except he says Harris let HER in and murdered HIM. He's also continuing to take credit for “being first” on the scene in the post-Helene chaos even though nobody wanted him there and all he did was start a GoFundMe, take credit for money that other people gave – and he didn't. AND IN NUZZI NUDES NEWS: NUZZI DOOZY – COURT GETS UP IN LIZZA'S BIZZA – OVER RFK RIZZ(a). CNN reports that the latest in the RFK Junior/Olivia Nuzzi story is: she has sued, and in the filing, says that the source of the leaks that got her suspended by New York Magazine for an undisclosed personal relationship with the perviest of the Kennedys was her former fiancee Ryan Lizza of Politico. When Olivia and I lived together and she still worked for The Daily Beast she frequently traveled to DCC on stories and whenever come back she'd give me a big hug and say she was sorry she took me for granted because there was the creepy guy who stalked her every time she went to Washington. ‘Do you know him,' she'd ask? ‘His name is Lizza.' Gotta run. Gotta check I have enough popcorn B-Block (25:00) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: The WNBA players association and executive director Terry Carmichael Jackson has attacked one of the reporters who might be on the Mount Rushmore of Women's Sports in this country, Christine Brennan. And over nothing. They've slandered her and tried to get her fired. We need to boycott the WNBA until there is an apology and the executive director is fired. There's Elon Musk, who has decided that a barely intelligible video by somebody who's never heard of Roe-V-Wade “proves” Trump cares more about women. And then there's Rob Schneider, who decided to turn the heartbreaking loss of 58-year old hoops immortal Dikembe Mutumbo to brain cancer into an anti-vax point. Maybe he meant it like a joke, since none of his jokes have ever been funny. C-Block (36:15) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: I spent years arguing against Pete Rose being admitted to baseball's Hall of Fame. Then I campaigned IN FAVOR of putting him in baseball's Hall of Fame. And then in 2017 the OTHER thing happened and that's when I started campaigning again for NEVER putting him in baseball's Hall of Fame. And all Monday night and all day yesterday, otherwise intelligent people explained that Pete Rose will go into the Hall of Fame because it was a lifetime ban and no – they put him on the “permanently ineligible list.” His life is over; his place on the list is not. And everybody has FORGOTTEN what the other thing was in 2017 - in the middle of his comeback, when he had gotten far along enough in his comeback that he was a regular on the Fox Baseball pre-game show I used to anchor – Pete Rose sued the investigator whose work led to his banishment from baseball in 1989 and in the discovery up popped a sworn deposition from a woman who, to quote The Hollywood Reporter, “alleges that Rose had a relationship with her for several years, beginning before she turned 16… Rose acknowledged in court documents that he had sex with the woman but thought she was 16 at the time.” When you admit to sex with a child and your defense was I thought she was 16, you're done. THAT'S why he's not in the Hall of Fame – and won't be.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This week on Ring of Fire! Republican Senator JD Vance likely didn't do himself any favors in the vice-presidential debate against Governor Tim Walz on Tuesday evening. Vance repeatedly refused to answer questions and lied throughout most of the debate. At one point, he was so angry about being fact checked that he attacked the moderators before they ended up cutting his microphone. But it was his refusal to acknowledge that Trump lost the 2020 election that really raised eyebrows Donald Trump is getting absolutely trashed for spreading lies about the Biden Administration's response to Hurricane Helene. And it isn't just the Left that's going after him – Republicans are having to come out and debunk his lies, too. Trump has claimed that the Biden administration is doing nothing and not even taking calls from Republican-controlled states, but the truth is that Biden has been on the phone constantly and offering whatever aid is needed for ALL states impacted. Sometimes it isn't exactly clear if Kellyanne Conway wants Donald Trump to win the election or not. During an interview on Fox News this week, Conway said that she tried to taunt Trump into doing another debate with Kamala Harris, even though he completely botched it the first time. But if Trump can't even convince his friends that he's not a coward, then he has no hope of convincing the public. All that, and much more, on this week's Ring of Fire Podcast!

Both presidential candidates are back on the campaign trail following this weekend's assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. After the first attempt on Trump's life back in July, when he was nearly killed by a shooter's bullet at a Butler, Pennsylvania, rally, there were calls for more civility. Still, both sides soon returned to using fiery rhetoric. Will anything change this time? Former Trump campaign senior adviser and FOX News contributor Kellyanne Conway joins the Rundown to discuss the state of the 2024 presidential race, what President Trump's strategy should be in the closing weeks, and if she thinks the presidential campaign will be toned down. Rare bipartisan agreement has taken shape in Congress on an issue that is now being fought in the courts. Republicans and Democrats are united in the belief that TikTok must be divested from its parent company, ByteDance, which is controlled by and based in China. Fears have arisen that the app, which has been downloaded by millions of users across the United States, poses a national security risk by allowing the Chinese Communist Party access to U.S. TikTok users' phones and data. Associate Law Professor at the University of Minnesota Alan Rozenshtein joins to discuss the legal case that faces TikTok and the prospect of the company being split from its Chinese partners. The answer is pretty simple: We applied for press passes to both, but the RNC didn't accept us. We don't know why. It is not because of any perceived partisanship — the RNC approved many liberal reporters, and here at the DNC I've seen everyone from Charlie Kirk to Kellyanne Conway, and Fox News has their own booth. After weeks of speculation, Vice President Kamala Harris, who is now the Democratic Party's official presidential nominee, has chosen Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to be her running mate. While this decision was met with enthusiastic support from prominent Democrats like former President Barack Obama, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and California Governor Gavin Newsom — many Republicans, on the other hand, said they were relieved by the choice after fearing Vice President Harris would choose someone like Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro or Arizona Senator Mark Kelly from key battleground states to shake up the race. So, with two presidential tickets in place, what happens now? To discuss what's happening in politics and overseas, Bret is joined by former Senior Counselor to President Trump, Kellyanne Conway, FOX News Senior Correspondent Benjamin Hall, and co-host of 'The Five' and Democratic strategist Jessica Tarlov on this week's All-Star Panel. SERIES 3 EPISODE 2: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: Don't look now but I think a certain Russian dictator has stopped betting on Trump. In fact, he's started humiliating him. Whatever the deal between Trump and Putin was on Gershkovich – and there is every chance it existed only in that great, amorphous, bug-filled attic that is Trump's mind – it's gone now. On June 5 Trump insisted only he could get him home. Only he would be the recipient of Putin's trust and agreement. He even put a date on it. Not when he was back in the White House but as soon as he was president-elect. Instead Putin just kicked Trump in the balls. Whatever happened, Trump was no longer worth enough to Putin for Putin to let Trump lie to cover his own useless ass. He just let Trump step on that rake. He just LEFT Trump to post impotently on social media about whether we got more prisoners then they did, like he was talking about getting 13 burgers for five bucks at McDonald's instead of just a dozen. TRUMP DOUBLES DOWN ON 'KAMALA IS NOT BLACK, SHE'S JAMAICAN.' Since he thinks immigrants are from asylums because he doesn't know the word has multiple meanings, there's every chance he thinks the "Jamaica" is the part of his home borough, Queens. The stupidity of The New York Times and Washington Post may have helped convince him he's got the winning campaign theme here but his claim she's not really black really cut through - and cut him. THERE'S VP NEWS: JD Vance says nobody's trying to get him off the ticket, everybody's been treated like this. Mike Pence was treated like this (JD? A word, please?) But everybody says the Dump-Vance movement is coming from Kellyanne Conway. On the other side, the tea leaves suggest Josh Shapiro may be Kamala's choice. AND ONE WEIRD TRICK: Imagine being born in 1946, living through Korea and the Cold War and JFK and Vietnam and the Swinging 60s and Watergate and Reagan and The Tech Boom and 9/11 and Obama and every day of your life since you learned how to talk, somebody has called you weird and apparently you'd never heard this… until last week. Happily, Trump has the perfect response to this: I'm not weird, you're weird. B-Block (24:30) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: As Mike Trout loses another season to injury and entropy, Angels' owner Arte Moreno must move him, or the team. The editor of the Cook Political Report thinks if the election is about the issues and not Trump, Trump will win. And Musk says he and Maduro will fight. Ever heard of the boxing matches where the two guys score simultaneous knockouts? C-Block (34:50) FRIDAYS WITH THURBER: From his great near-novel "My Life And Hard Times" it's just another kid from another century trying to get through the bewildering bureaucracy that is a major American college: "University Days."See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
