“Know your worth. People always act like they're doing more for you than you're doing for them.” – Kanye West I am so excited to welcome Lindsay Simonds to the T&T mic! Lindsay is a fellow Colorado native and all things non-profit pro! Lindsay founded LSC (Lindsay Simonds Consulting) in 2017 and is a senior, non-profit, fundraising and management professional with a decade of experience partnering with organizations for transformational change. Having raised over $1 billion philanthropic dollars Lindsay's mission and the message are just beginning. Today we discuss Lindsay's journey navigating the nonprofit world where investing and spending are often misunderstood. Shouldn't we do it all for free if for charity? No. We explain why AND how this awareness of self-worth translates into all you do, in every arena (personally and professionally). Dialing into your self-worth, measured by money or time, can be a tricky process. It's takes time, awareness, trail, and error to really dial into your own valuation point. Then there are the conversations around price point phycology and your own narrative around money. We are here to unpack it all with you! If you are an emerging or experienced entrepreneur (or thinking about taking the leap), this conversation is for you! Developing self-worth and putting a price on it is not easy, but very necessary. Enjoy this convo and put some respect on the checks you will continue to write to yourself… #youreworthit :) Highlights: Giving and making money in the nonprofit space. Self-awareness, self-worth, growth. Money management and identifying our own narrative around money. How to ask for money and how to know what you deserve. Comparing the non-profit and for-profit work spaces. Monetizing the scares, battles, time, and energy. Taking the leap from the corporate world to the entrepreneurial one. Priorities and priority shifts. Maturity, security, and taking risks. On episode one of the THUMP Podcast, News Editor Anna Codrea-Rado, Features Editor Michelle Lhooq, and Managing Editor Colin Joyce join host and Editor-in-Chief Emilie to reflect on the impact Trump's travel ban will have touring electronic musicians, as well as the responsibility that artists have to use their platform for politics. We also mull over the ways the Grammys fail electronic music and the lessons Michelle learned from spending a month going to clubs sober. Also discussed are our Valentine's Day faves: Prince, David Mancuso, and twitchy ambient music. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
I. Love is Sent.“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14II. Love Saves.“But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him! “Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.” Luke 12:5-7III. Love's Source.“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

How do I surrender my life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ? Admit that you are a sinner. Believe that when Jesus Died on the cross that it counted for you Confess Jesus as your Lord.32Two others, who were criminals, were led away to be put to death with him. 33 And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left… 39 One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him,[d] saying, “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!” 40 But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” 42 And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” 43 And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” Luke 23:32-33;39-43

Author Gwen Cooper joins host Robin Milling to talk about her new novel, Love Saves The Day which is the story of bridging the gap and cementing the bonds of unconditional love between a mother and daughter, told through the voice of a brown tabby cat they rescue named Prudence. Even if you're not a cat lover, you will relate to this story of how animals can ultimately rescue their humans, which Prudence firmly believes she has done. Gwen who says she is an equal opportunity animal lover has three cats of her own, all of them adopted or rescued. She tells Robin the feline heroine in the book is based on her cat Scarlett who made her debut in her bestselling memoir Homer's Odyssey, about her blind cat Homer who became a celebrity in his own right especially amongst the rescue community who rallied to the book. What is most rewarding for Gwen is how Homer's Odyssey inspired many more adoptions of blind, deaf and special needs pets, namely the Blind Cat Rescue and Sanctuary in North Carolina who have seen a spike in support since the book was published. She hopes Love Saves The Day has a similar impact, embarking on a tour across the country to 15 no-kill shelters whose outreach in their communities benefit the elderly, the homeless and at risk children. Gwen says the temptation to adopt another cat while she's there will be great but realizes living in a New York apartment; three is the charm!
Gwen Cooper, New York Times best-selling author joined Tim in this episode to talk about her recently released book, Love Saves The Day. Tim asked how this book compares to her previous best-selling book Homers Odyssey, the premise of her latest book and how she came to write the book. Tim also asked Gwen about the differences in writing a novel compared to a memoir. Also, Tim discusses with Gwen her involvement with animal welfare organizations. If you’ve enjoyed Gwen’s previous works, you’ll definitely want to listen to this interview to find out more. Questions or Comments? Send them to: tim@petliferadio.com.
