Want to know how to become a highly effective organizational consultant…the Disney way? Today's guests are my treasured colleagues Harold Hill and Luis Marrero. The three of us worked together as internal consultants at Walt Disney World before starting our consulting and coaching businesses. I'm not going to lie – this conversation was some of the most fun I have had on the podcast. I had a blast taking a trip down memory lane and deconstructing what it was about our experience as internal consultants at Disney that was so unique and powerful. You'll hear Harold and Luis validate everything you have listened to me share. They talk about what we did at Disney that was so effective, especially our intentionality around our consulting approach with clients and capturing our best practices into an online program that inspired the eCourse I created called the Consultant's Toolbox. If you want to learn more about the consulting approach we used at Disney and grow our practices, I got a holiday gift for you. I'm launching a brand-new masterclass that will show you how to make money and a difference as an organizational consultant. If you're like me and use the holidays as a time for reflection and personal development, this masterclass will give you new ideas and structure, plus a chance to get my full Consultant's Toolbox program at $100 off standard prices. Go to www.betsyjordyn.com/consulting-masterclass and sign up now. The other thing you'll love about my conversation with Harold and Luis is their journey into full-time business ownership. You'll hear how they have built businesses that use the best of who they are and, frankly, who they have always been. You're going to be inspired to see that the purpose, gifting, and passion inside of you truly are the best path to a business that is profitable and that you love. We also discussed why consultants today are so needed – especially given all the challenges facing senior leaders in this season. Ready for a behind-the-scenes peek into consulting the Disney way that you can apply and use to grow your organizational consulting effectiveness? Then let's do this! What's next: This interview officially wraps up my organizational consulting 101 series on the podcast. If you want to learn more about how to make money and a difference as an organizational consultant, get your free access to my brand-new masterclass. Are you ready for the new retirement? The old-fashioned "full-stop" retirement simply doesn't work for everyone. For many people, to retire happy, it includes some form of work - on your own terms. In a hybrid retirement, work - paid or unpaid - can provide meaning, connection, purpose, fulfillment - and some income. There are more options available today to create a hybrid retirement that works for you. But that may mean changing lanes. You'll need to plan ahead and lay the groundwork. Justin Smith, CFP., CAP, CFA of Savant Wealth Management, offers his tips and a tool to help you think outside the box and navigate career crossroads. Justin joins us from Phoenix, Arizona. ________________________ Delaying retirement?  You could wait until you retire and ask What Now? – and then scramble – or drift. Don't be that person. Instead, start planning for the non-financial side of retirement now. Delaying when to retire doesn't mean delaying your preparation. Apply the same principles of design thinking that Nike and other leading companies use to design your future. Learn more about my One-on-One coaching and small group programs. Nobody announced it, but it's becoming more and more popular. 20 years ago there was really one path where it was somebody in the C-suite and then they would go serve on a board and they went from working 80 hours a week to working 20 hours a week. They'd still fly around and go to board meetings and things like that. But now that has been democratized and there's countless different ways that people can take a hybrid path. And the big change I'm seeing is that a more people have access to these hybrid paths. Basically anybody who puts in the work can find something that checks all the boxes for them. And the other thing I'm seeing is that people are not waiting until 65 or full retirement age, or the point where they feel fully financial independent. They're jumping off the treadmill earlier and then they're playing that hybrid game longer." On Planning Ahead "In the retirement planning game,

Andrew Griffiths is a very special person as he is my Author Mentor and inspiration for my book, Navigating Career Crossroads. Without his advice and unwavering support I wouldn’t have had the courage to become a published author. Andrew is a very special gentleman. It has been 15 years since Andrew’s first book ‘101 Ways to Market Your Business’(Allen & Unwin) first hit the shelves. The way we do business has evolved furiously during this time – in an age where we are drowning in information but thirsty for wisdom, Andrew now has 12 bestselling titles which are sold in over 60 countries. This is clearly testament to the fact that he continues to offer relevant advice as an author and business commentator. What an amazing career! Starting life as an orphan in Western Australia and growing up all too quickly in the seedy red light district of Perth, Andrew learned to become a survivor. The lessons learned in his battle for survival – in life and in business – have made him one of the most successful and highly sought after authorities in the small business and entrepreneurial space. Andrew is a bestselling business author and presenter not just because his personal story is moving and his narrative is unexpectedly humorous After 30 years as a business owner in industries as diverse as tourism, advertising, retailand consulting, he has been there and done it. Today Andrew shares the stage with leaders and inspirational thinkers, from celebrity entrepreneurs including Richard Branson, to the up and coming young entrepreneurial elite like Daniel Priestly, to game changing politicians, famous authors, inspirational individuals who have done extraordinary things and many more. In the literary world as an entrepreneurial commentator, Andrew’s peers include the likes of Malcom Gladwell and Seth Godin.
