Happy Friday, Fckers! On today's episode, CORINNE FISHER and KRYSTYNA HUTCHINSON read an email from a listener with a seemingly crazy story about her vagina, a f*ckboy, and a diving accident. Corinne reads a Washington Post article about breaking up with your AI boyfriend and the gals share why they vehemently disagree. C&K then welcome stand-up comedian, NORE DAVIS, to the studio. The trio talk about enduring psychological abuse from a narcissistic parent, coming to terms with the death of that parent, the uphill battle of undoing a lifetime of negative beliefs about yourself, breaking the cycle by raising your daughter with love and compassion, and how to discern who the voices in your head belong to.Follow NORE on IG: @NoreDavisListen to Nore's latest stand-up album, “40” Follow CORINNE on IG @PhilanthropyGalFollow KRYSTYNA on IG @KrystynaHutchFollow ERIC on IG @EricFretty To read more, donate, or sign up to volunteer for Corinne's NYC Mayoral Campaign, visit: https://www.corinnefisher.com/ Want to write into the show? Nore Davis is a comedian, writer and actor. He has appeared on "Succession", "Boardwalk Empire", and "Last Week Tonight", in addition to a lengthy list of talk show appearances. His new special Element: A Solo Show Film is available on his website and covers several of the topics we wind up talking about in this episode. Our conversation explores themes of healing, emotional vulnerability, and the impact of trauma on individuals and communities. We touch on the influence of religion and the intergenerational transmission of trauma. Nore and I touch on everything from superheroes and tattoos to inner child healing, the impact of family dynamics, the fear of being alone, and the importance of self-awareness. We also touch on the concept of freedom after death and the legacy we leave behind. Nore is a thoughtful, deep cat. I hope you enjoy our conversation.
Nore Davis is here! Nore has been on a list of people we've wanted on the show for a long time. I say we like it's a team. It's not. Anyway we talk to Nore about his origin in comedy, how prolific he is, and his transition out of traditional stand up into one man plays. I got to see his latest special and a sneak preview of his play. Both are phenominal.Join the Patreon for exclusive video contentJoin the Discord to join the discussion Hosted on Acast. Hey y'all! The end of the year is nigh (can you believe I'm using a word like that? #Fancy), so I wanted us to end on a positive and profound note since the holidays are coming up. Like most of you, I'm spending the holidays without my family, which can be a bummer, stressful, or actually, a good thing if things with your family aren't so great. Whatever the case may be, we're all looking inward, which is why I'm so pumped for this supersized episode because we are talking therapy! And in particular, therapy for black people, in light of the tumultuous year. Joining me are superstar comedian Nore Davis and author/activist/educator Rachel Cargle, who is also the founder of the Loveland Foundation, a place that is built for people to focus on their mental health. Suffice it to say that both of these conversations are deep, funny, real, and extremely insightful. Y'all are in for a sweet treat! Enjoy this dope ass episode! And per usual, we are answering some great audience questions. Cheers! On today's show I talk to comedian Nore Davis. Originally from Yonkers, Norestarted doing comedy after giving up street racing. He's performed on shows on MTV and Comedy Central, acted in in shows Boardwalk Empire, and was a New Face at Just for Laughs last year. Nore also has a new stand-up album out called Home Game that's very funny! This is the website for Beginnings, subscribe on iTunes, follow me on Twitter.
Growing up, Nore Davis used laughter to ease family friction and foster mutual understanding. As a professional comedian, that's still his M.O., applying some healing humor to divisive subjects like race, homophobia, and police-civilian tensions. We talked about his youth in Yonkers, being a cop's kid, becoming a comic, using his baby face to good advantage, his transgender "sisbro," his bit part on "Boardwalk Empire," the unequal power of black and white racial slurs, and more.
Joseph Vecsey sits with comedian/actor Nore Davis(Inside Amy Schumer, Comedy Central's Da Ruckus) and discusses the scams of colleges, condoms not feeling good, concentrating on just stand up, being a comedy fan of all different types of comedians, and more! Comedian Chris Clarke who was on the previous episode is featured as well and joins!
