In this episode of Money Made Simple, Jennie is honoured to introduce Rebecca Roberts, manager of the Simplicity Foundation. The Foundation is an important part of the Simplicity story, founded at the same time as Simplicity NZ Ltd back in 2016. From the very start, the Foundation has received 15% of fees charged to our KiwiSaver and Investment Fund members - subsequently donating this money to a range of awesome Kiwi charities across the country. Jennie and Rebecca discuss why the Foundation was set up, who's involved and what sort of charities they are supporting. This week's episode covers:How the Foundation is structured and run, and who's involvedHow members actually benefit from Simplicity being a nonprofit owned by a charity - beyond the feel good factor of course! How Simplicity members determined the giving priorities of the charityThe four pillars that the Foundation bases charity giving aroundHow much the Foundation donates a year, and how much this translates to per member (it might shock you!)Some examples of Kiwi charities members help support, and the awesome mahi they are doing in their communitiesResources we mention in this episode:Simplicity.kiwi/our-charityBy the end of this episode, we hope you'll have a better idea of how the Foundation works and some of the amazing groups being supported, as well as that "aha moment" that this is truly a win-win situation for Simplicity members and Kiwis in need. And even if charitable giving isn't a key reason why every member chooses to invest with Simplicity, it is something we can all be proud to be part of %) ---Please help us share the good word (and make Kiwis richer and smarter with money) - the more we grow, the more good we can do %) Don't forget to follow, subscribe and rate the podcast if you found it useful!Find us: InstagramFacebookLinkedInDisclaimer: This podcast contains personal opinions and is intended to provide educational information only. If you're trying to communicate with young people within your target audience, or are hoping to engage them within your work, this episode will help you understand how to better listen, engage and empower young people within your work. We speak with Rebecca Roberts, founder of Thread & Fable and specialist in youth audiences about her Engaging Youth insight reports and what top tips she has for better connecting with young people through marcomms. If you've read much in the media about youth audiences, you'll have been told they're hard to reach, have short attention spans and are snowflakes (even more so than Millennials were) - Rebecca tackles why stereotypes are not only untrue but are unhelpful in understanding the real context of what it's like growing up in the UK and how comms are well placed to improve the conversation.
The one thing most anyone knows about First Lady Edith Wilson is that she conspired to cover for Woodrow Wilson after he suffered a debilitating stroke in 1919. There's much more to this complex woman's story, says this week's guest, Rebecca Boggs Roberts. She's the author of a new Edith Wilson biography titled "Untold Power." She describes Edith Bolling's rise from rural Virginia with only two years of formal education to the heights of power in Washington in a time of change for women and the nation. On this week's episode, I'm excited to bring on Rebecca Roberts as a guest.Rebecca is a mindset coach, storyshaper, and spacemaker. She's got a deep curiosity for exploring the old beliefs and inner dialogues that shape our behavior and experience of life. These are the thoughts that lead us towards either consistent frustration or deep fulfillment. She knows from her own life experience that sometimes, only a single thought stands between heaviness and lightness of being. She felt chained down by the old stories she believed about herself…what she could and couldn't do, how she should or shouldn't be…why she was or wasn't worthy of love and belonging. She now knows that the key to freedom lies within our own minds and our chosen stories. This work changed her life, and she has immense gratitude for the chance to accompany others in reigniting their natural spark and lightness in life.Connect with RebeccaLinkedInYouTubeRecommended Books:1. Achieving a balance between privacy of our own personal identifying information versus a legitimate need to access that same information is a difficult task. Don't we each want to have all of our personal identifying details kept private? Of course we do! Conversely, if we were involved in a legal action, either civil or criminal, wouldn't we want to be able to locate an individual who could provide information on our behalf? Consider if that person also has a common name name like John Jones or Robert Smith? How can that person be found? What about collecting a debt, finding a birth family or tracking down someone who has abducted a child? These are all important questions to contemplate. Privacy Advocate Beth Givens, founder and director of Privacy Rights Clearing House, Co-Owner & publisher of PI Magazine Jimmie Mesis and Rebecca Roberts, National Marketing Director on IRB Search, a subscriber based on-line date provider will be joining together for this provocative discussion.

This week, Bain and Stone had a chance to chat with long-time powerlifter, Rebecca Roberts. Rebecca has been competing since 1997, and has competed in single ply, raw, multi-ply, and even strongwoman. She started as a collegiate powerlifter with the USAPL, became an equipped powerlifter with the APF, had some stints in raw and strongwoman, and now is back in multi-ply. In the "PLUSA Throwback" segment, the boys discussed the January 2011 issue, which had legondary bencher Joe Mazza on the cover--who at the time had the raw, single-ply and multi-ply bench records at 165 at 487 / 670 / 705 lbs respectively. The boys also discussed TWO hot topics, discussing (once again) the ever-popular topic of band "shirts" as well as the some's contention that "raw w/wraps is dead."
We're all unique, with our own set of blueprints that shape our experiences and it's the foundation for individual expression. But what happens if you lose connection to your blueprints or never remember having them? Joining me today is Rebecca Roberts, of Inner Architecture, to share how we can declutter our minds and re-establish a connection with our inner selves. In this episode we start by talking about the unpaid one-year media and marketing placement advert that was put out by Birmingham City Football Club and why it's a problem. For our 5 minutes, we explore marketing to over 60's. What campaigns we have seen, the segmentation of the audience and what needs to change. Research by Lloyds Banking has shown that although people over 65 make up 17.7% of the population they only feature in 6.2% of advertising, however when they do feature in advertising and marketing the narrative follows the line of stereotypes.
