Welcome to the Unscripted Healing Podcast where we share unscripted stories about health and healing because everyone has a story and everyone has an Inner Child who wants to be heard. There is so much healing that can happen through real-life storytelling and this podcast creates a safe space for people to share their stories and connect the dots back to their childhood. It also creates an opportunity for YOU, the listener, to find yourself (and your Inner Child) within the stories. So before pressing play, I encourage you to tune into your body because, as you are listening, it may give you clues to your story in the form of “goosebumps,” a pit in your stomach, a lump in your throat, tears in your eyes, or shivers down your spine! Those are all ways that your Inner Child and body are trying to get your attention that there was something in that story for you! And thank you - just for being here - your Inner Child is already starting to feel seen, heard, and loved by you.

*Trigger Warning: There is mention of domestic abuse in this episode.  Episode #58: In this episode of Tami Talks: Unscripted Healing, I sit down with my dear friend Wendy C. Wilson—speaker, coach, and author of Iron Will—to talk about the long road from childhood trauma to deep healing, purpose, and emotional freedom. Wendy shares how witnessing abuse as a child, walking on eggshells, and struggling with self-worth shaped everything from her relationships to how she showed up at work. We dive into how people-pleasing, silence, and survival mode can follow us into adulthood—and how healing those inner wounds changes everything. This conversation is raw, real, and full of wisdom about breaking cycles, reclaiming your voice, and trusting the timing of your purpose. Healing the past to expand the vision is at the heart of this episode of Tami Talks: Unscripted Healing. I sit down with Jaime and Kevin White—coaches, healers, and real-deal humans—who know what it's like to walk through the fire (including a move to an entirely new country) and come out the other side with purpose and clarity. We unpack the layers of human design, generational patterns, entrepreneurship, and the deeply rooted fear many women carry around being seen. This episode is a powerful reminder that you can't play big carrying old pain—and that healing the past is often the key to expanding your vision for the future. From the illusion of money to the freedom of surrender, this conversation invites you to release outdated programming, lean into your intuitive gifts, and finally trust the process—even when there's no proof, only faith. Have you ever caught yourself sabotaging a good thing—whether it's a relationship, opportunity, weight loss efforts, gym streak, or personal success—without really knowing why? You're not alone. In this deeply personal episode of Tami Talks: Unscripted Healing, I open up about my own experiences with self-sabotage and why we often push away the very things we desire. It's not because we don't want health, happiness, or wealth—it's because if you have unhealed childhood wounds, your nervous system is still wired for chaos and control, not peace and safety. *Trigger Warning for anyone who has experienced a miscarriage or loss of a child. I talk about it only regarding the lack of support women receive - and send anyone who has experienced either so much love and healing.  This journey of healing is messy, ongoing, and beautifully unscripted—but the more we understand ourselves, the more we can step into the love, joy, and success we truly deserve. In this episode, I chat with my close friend Jen, the person who pushed me into starting this podcast. Jen shares how she helped me confront my worthiness wounds, set healthy boundaries, and break free from the "Grind Mentality." We dive into the challenges of parenting, managing triggers as an adult, and living in a multi-generational home where her Inner Child is triggered and trying to heal all at the same time. Jen gets vulnerable in what turned out to be a somewhat of a "therapy session" in regards to helping her Inner Child release the anger she has felt stuck in and feel safe enough to finally grieve the loss of the childhood she deserved. We take care of physical wounds, but often neglect, bury, or suppress emotional wounds that may linger long after a physical injury. Join me and my dad, for this special Father's Day Tami Talks Podcast, as he opens up for the first time in almost 55 years about a tractor accident that changed his and his twin brother's life forever when they were just 11 years old. In this episode we talk about: Did you "deal" with your trauma or just suppress it? You might not remember, but your body and Inner Child still do. Why YOU need to validate your Inner Child's story. What it means when unexpected emotions come up. Why you remember details of specific events/conversations. How suppressed emotional trauma can show up in your adult life. "That's the way it always was," doesn't means you didn't need support. Breaking generational patterns by allowing ourselves to FEEL & HEAL. How to reparent your Inner Child through past traumatic events. How sharing your story can help YOU and others heal. *Thank you for bearing with the "small town" technology audio and visual limitations we ran into on this episode. Episode #13: When a Child Doesn't Feel Seen: The Roots of the "Perfectionist" and the "Problem Child"

Have you ever wondered why some adults struggle with perfectionism, overachieving, or overgiving? The answer often lies in childhood experiences. When a child doesn't feel seen or validated, their ego gets creative to meet this fundamental need. This can lead to patterns of behavior that persist into adulthood, impacting their emotional well-being and relationships. In this video, we delve into the psychological roots of these behaviors, exploring: The Role of the Ego: How a child's sense of self adapts when their emotional needs aren't met. Perfectionism: Why the drive to be perfect can be a response to feeling invisible. Overachieving: How striving for success and recognition becomes a way to gain the validation they missed as a child. Overgiving: The tendency to put others' needs before their own, hoping to earn love and acceptance. Problem Child: How Ego can take the need to feel seen to extremes.   Understanding these patterns is the first step towards healing and developing healthier ways of relating to your kids, oneself, and others.   Please let me know in the comments if something in the episode resonates with you and your Inner Child! As children, we all yearn to be truly seen and accepted for who we are. However, if our ego fears it's unsafe to be authentic—due to potential ridicule, exclusion, or lack of affection—it develops protective mechanisms that persist into adulthood, compelling us to seek visibility at any cost. In this Episode: How my fear of abandonment and rejection got my attention through my physical body. How physical symptoms could be clues to deeper wounds. How "setbacks" may actually be a deeper level of healing. How ignoring your emotions and intuition can feel like abandonment. How wearing masks to fit in (stay safe) is a form of self-rejection. How not allowing your kids or yourself to feel all of your feelings is a form of rejection and abandonment. Stop telling your kids and yourself that "You're fine!" Projections are an unconscious defense mechanism that protects your Ego from facing its deepest fears. Instead, it deflects those fears and insecurities onto others.  Without realizing it, we project onto one another on the daily in the form of offering unsolicited advice, sharing our opinions, making fun, judging and/or blaming others.  In this episode:  Why we feel the need to ask for advice - it's not what you think! Why we disconnect from our Intuition in childhood and have a hard time making decisions as adults.  What Projections are and why people project onto each other.
