On this episode of the California Now Podcast, host Soterios Johnson takes listeners on a journey through Monterey County, chatting with local experts about the best places to explore, stay, and dine in this picturesque stretch of the Central Coast. First, Johnson chats with Erin Sollecito, the business development director at Monterey Touring Vehicles. Erin shares how Monterey's diverse landscapes and rich automotive history make it the perfect place for a scenic drive. She also reflects on the thrill of cruising in one of the company's classic cars along Highway 1 and 17-Mile Drive. "I just love jumping behind the wheel of that '54 Chevy Bel Air,” says Sollecito. “It couldn't be any cuter, and it sounds great, it drives great, and it turns heads for sure." Next, Johnson is joined by Ben Perlmutter, managing partner at the Big Sur River Inn. A lifelong resident of the area, Ben reflects on the inn's history and its ideal location along the river and Highway 1. "We have these beautiful redwood Adirondack chairs that we place in the river from spring through the fall. It's a beautiful place to stop, take off your shoes, dip 'em in the water, maybe grab a nice cold drink, and truly relax,” says Perlmutter. He also offers insights on must-visit spots, local dining options, and how visitors can practice responsible travel in the area. Finally, Johnson is joined by Justin Cogley, executive chef at the two-Michelin-starred Aubergine in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Cogley describes the exceptional dining experience at Aubergine and the farm-to-table philosophy that defines his cooking. “We're really lucky in this area because there's always great ingredients here,” says Cogley. He also shares his love for the incredible hiking trails in Carmel and Big Sur.

pWotD Episode 2818: Amanda Knox Welcome to Popular Wiki of the Day, spotlighting Wikipedia's most visited pages, giving you a peek into what the world is curious about today. With 237,656 views on Saturday, 18 January 2025 our article of the day is Amanda Knox.Amanda Marie Knox (born July 9, 1987) is an American author, activist, and journalist. She spent almost four years incarcerated in Italy after her wrongful conviction in the 2007 murder of Meredith Kercher, a fellow exchange student, with whom she shared an apartment in Perugia. In 2015, Knox was definitively acquitted by the Italian Supreme Court of Cassation. In 2024, an Italian appellate court upheld Amanda Knox's slander conviction for falsely accusing Patrick Lumumba of murdering Meredith Kercher.Knox, aged 20 at the time of the murder, called the police after returning to her and Kercher's apartment after a night spent with her boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, and finding Kercher's bedroom door locked and blood in the bathroom. During the police interrogations that followed, the conduct of which is a matter of dispute, Knox allegedly implicated herself and her employer, Patrick Lumumba, in the murder. Initially, Knox, Sollecito, and Lumumba were all arrested for Kercher's murder, but Lumumba was soon released because he had a strong alibi. A known burglar, Rudy Guede, was soon arrested, after his bloody fingerprints were found on Kercher's possessions. He was convicted of murder in a fast-track trial and was sentenced to 30 years' imprisonment, later reduced to 16 years. In December 2020, an Italian court ruled that Guede could complete his term by doing community service. In their initial trial, in 2009, Knox and Sollecito were convicted and sentenced to 26 and 25 years in prison, respectively. Pre-trial publicity in Italian media, which was repeated by other media worldwide, portrayed Knox in a negative light, leading to complaints that the prosecution was using character assassination. A guilty verdict at Knox's initial trial and her 26-year sentence caused international controversy, because American forensic experts thought evidence at the crime scene was incompatible with her involvement. A prolonged legal process, including a successful prosecution appeal against her acquittal at a second-level trial, continued after Knox was freed in 2011. On March 27, 2015, Italy's highest court definitively exonerated Knox and Sollecito. However, Knox's conviction for committing defamation against Lumumba was upheld by all courts. On January 14, 2016, Knox was acquitted of defamation for saying she had been struck by policewomen during the interrogation.Knox later became an author, an activist, and a journalist. Her memoir, Waiting to Be Heard, became a best seller. In 2018, she began hosting The Scarlet Letter Reports, a television series, which examined the "gendered nature of public shaming".This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 03:03 UTC on Sunday, 19 January 2025.For the full current version of the article, see Amanda Knox on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm standard Nicole.

#amandaknox #perugia #meredithkercher #raffaelesollecito #monicalewinski #bluemoon #delittodiperugia #hulu #bluemoonseries #amandaknoxseries #serietvdelittodiperugia #jacopopezzan #giacomobrunoro #rudyguede #truecrime #truecrimediaries

Amanda Knox was retried and convicted for criminally slandering her boss Patrick Lumumba when she implicated Lumumba in the murder of Meredith Kercher in 2007. In October of 2011, Italy's highest court determined that Amanda Knox was at the scene of Meredith Kercher's murder. The court also determined that Kercher was murdered by more than one person and Knox washed Meredith Kercher's blood off of her hands and acquitted Knox. That puzzling decision that tossed the DNA evidence against Knox and Sollecito, Knox and her supporters refer to as her “exoneration”.Show Notes: Amanda Knox's Labyrinths Podcast Ep. 72 - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/72-debunking-innocence-andrew-hammel/id1494368441?i=1000628715335True Justice, Krissy G "Amanda Knox Found Guilty of Criminal Slander" - https://www.truejustice.org/ee/index.php/tjmk/comments/amanda_knox_again_found_guilty_of_criminal_slander_our_further_explanation_of_whyThank you, Patrons!Linda Lazzarro, Susan Hicks, Jeff Meadors, Donna, Faith Peeples, Jennifer Powell, Cindy G Yurts, Kay Bee, Dana Natale, Debra Couture, Cindy Poschesci, Riverdale Pilates, Luanne Miller, Rachbaum, Kevin Crecy, Renee Chavez, Angela Smith, Melba Pourteau, Julia K Thomas, JS, Stephanie Roach, Stark Stuff, Robyn Ray, K, Kayce Taylor, Yvette Jockin, Karen Cote, Tammie Sheppherd, JenTile, LadyLex, Shari Davis, AussieDood, Katrina Hetherington, Susan Swan, Dean, GiGi 5, Susan, Manjit Ender, Mentour Mentor's Mentee, Kee Sardi, Dana Natale, Marie Patrignani, Bewildered Beauty, MotherofHens, Pepper, Joan, Pat Dell, Blythe, Laura, Plai Braik, Lorraine R, Sandra Guse Van Zealand, Isa, Krissy G, Michelle B, TB , Maria, Erin Faesen, Regan Johnson, AJ Foster, Hugh Ashman, Melissa V, Heyy Manny, Victoria Gray Bross, Toni Woodland, Danbrit, Evan Scott, Holly from Dallas, Kenny Haines, Maureen P and Toni Natalie.Get access to exclusive content & support the podcast by becoming a Patron today! https://patreon.com/robertaglasstruecrimereport Or throw a tip in the tip jar! https://buymeacoffee.com/robertaglassOr support Roberta by sending a donation via Venmo. https://venmo.com/robertaglass

#49 Il concetto di tonalità nel flamenco - Flamenco Chiavi in Mano

Flamenco Chiavi in Mano podcast

After two trials, Knox and Sollecito were fully exonerated in 2015 on grounds of insufficent and shoddy evidence, but the blight of this devastating case has continued to follow them around, especially Knox. Tune in today to learn more about the Amanda Knox case, the lack of justice for the Kercher family and all the books, documentaries, podcasts and movies that have been inspired from this case. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/theresa-pedone/message

Tech leaders not only lead organizations to create products, but often lead transformations also -- transformation of people, processes, and of course tech. In this podcast, Michele Sollecito shares his thoughts on his role and how he works to make sure projects come in on scope and on time through the wonderful women and men engineers doing the work. Key takeaways from the podcast are: • Why integrity matters. i.e., Doing the right thing even when no one is looking. • How software development isn't just about delivering fast, but rather represents the art of creating something that can be maintained and extended in its complexity, without ending up in a technical debt dead end. • Avoiding continuous isolation by leading and facilitating environments that create interrelationships within a team, between teams, and in the wider organization. On this episode of the Sofa King Podcast, we cover the true crime roller coaster that was the trial of Amanda Knox. She and her boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were arrested for the murder of Meredith Kercher. This case it had it all. Promiscuous college students, rough Italian cops, bar hopping, Americans, Brits, and an international cast of characters. The case gets crazy as they two get convicted, released, and then arrested and convicted again due to crazy loopholes in Italian law. Amanda Knox was born in Seattle and was a normal child and a good college student. Since childhood, she had a love of Italy, and she got a chance to study abroad while she was getting a degree in linguistics. She moved to Perugia, Italy, to finish her studies. Perugia is a small town known for its colleges (and college students) as well as some pretty crazy murder cases. Amanda Knox was not the only wild murder in town. There was a case there of an Italian Prime minister allegedly murdering a journalist and another case of a band of Satanic Masonic serial killers! In Perugia, Amanda found a flat with several roommates. One was Kercher. Knox got a job at a local bar and eventually started a relationship with Sollecito. She stayed the night at his place, and on the morning of November 1st 2007, Knox found Kercher’s door locked but there was blood, and she wasn’t answering her phone. The cops came, and according to Knox were immediately hostile toward her. Plus, they were postal police, which apparently is a thing in Italy, and had no real business putting together a murder case. Either way, the trial was wild. They got convicted, even though they had leads on a better suspect. Then, the case was overturned, and they were acquitted. Once Knox was back in Seattle, however, the Italian court called the case back on, and she was being tried all over again in a horrible Italian justice yoyo. So, how did the case ultimately end up? Who did they finally claim the murderer was? What happened to him? How much time did Knox spend in prison? Why did she get in a twitter war over the US presidential election? What motivated her to try to help the founder of the sex cult NXIVM to get out of jail? Listen, laugh, learn.     Visit Our Sources: https://www.biography.com/crime-figure/amanda-knox https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanda_Knox https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Meredith_Kercher https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/21/us/amanda-knox-wedding-prison-uniform-trnd/index.html https://nypost.com/2020/11/04/amanda-knox-says-next-4-years-cant-be-as-bad-as-her-study-abroad/ https://nypost.com/2020/12/06/man-who-killed-amanda-knoxs-roommate-freed/ https://filmdaily.co/obsessions/true-crime/amanda-knox-tweets/

What is the truth behind the conviction and subsequent exoneration of Amanda Knox for the Murder of Meredith Kercher?Welcome to Solvable Mysteries Podcast, hosted by Juras Sim and co-hosted by Glenn Highcove. In this episode we discuss the famous and controversial case of Amanda Knox, who was accused with her boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, of killing Amanda's roommate. Knox's roommate, Meredith Kercher, was found locked in her room, with the rest of the apartment in disarray, and blood in different rooms. Later analysis would trace much of the DNA evidence to Rudy Guede, a known burglar and casual acquaintance of Knox and her neighbors, but also someone they did not know well. The subsequent investigation and trial was filled with controversy and irregularities, with the prosecution and investigation team positing wild theories on what happened to Meredith, concluding that she was killed in a strange love triangle/encounter gone wrong. We discuss the many strange and questionable tactics the police took during this investigation and trial, the apparent violation of Amanda and Sollecito's rights and privacy, as well as the strange behavior of Amanda Knox during the entire period before, during and after her conviction. We also review the latest Amanda Knox developments, including her subsequent appeal, exoneration, re-conviction, and final exoneration by the Italian justice system. In this special episode Kate asks a medium to discuss the unsolved mysteries of the disappearance of Jennifer Kesse, the death of actress Brittany Murphy, whether Amanda Knox was involved in the death of her Italian roommate Meredith Kercher, and what really happened on July 18, 1969 on Chappaquiddick Island. Jennifer Joyce Kesse lived in Orlando, Florida and has been missing since January 24, 2006. Her disappearance puzzled investigators and an aggressive search for her was conducted in the area surrounding her home. Shortly after her disappearance, her car was discovered a little over a mile from her home at a nearby apartment complex. No evidence was ever made known with regards to her, such as finger prints, DNA or cellphone location information from nearby towers. Captured footage from a nearby security camera showed an unidentified person parking Kesse's car before walking away. The case received widespread state and national press attention at the time of her disappearance.Brittany Murphy was an American actress and singer. A native of Atlanta, Murphy moved to Los Angeles as a teenager and pursued a career in acting. Her breakthrough role was as Tai Frasier in Clueless (1995), followed by supporting roles in independent films such as Freeway (1996) and Bongwater (1998). In December 2009, Murphy died of pneumonia at the age of 32. Meredith Kercher was a British student on exchange from the University of Leeds who was murdered at the age of 21 in Perugia, Italy, on 1 November 2007. Kercher was found dead on the floor of her bedroom. By the time the bloodstained fingerprints at the scene were identified as belonging to Rudy Guede, police had charged Kercher's American flatmate, Amanda Knox, and Knox's Italian boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito. The subsequent prosecutions of Knox and Sollecito received international publicity. The Chappaquiddick incident was a single-vehicle car accident that occurred on Chappaquiddick Island, Massachusetts, on Friday, July 18, 1969. TRUE CRIME - On this episode of Those Conspiracy Guys we discuss the still mysterious case of the murder of Meredith Kircher, more famously known as the Amanda Knox case. Knox and her boyfriend Raphael Sollecito were arrested for the murder of Kircher in 2007 and spent 4 years in jail until their case was unprecidentedly thrown out and they were set free.Kircher was brutally murdered in the home she and Knox shared in a small Italian town called Perugia. They were both on a study abroad trip and Knox and Kircher only knew each other for a couple of days. Knox also only knew her then lover Sollecito for a couple of weeks and made the case all the more mysterious. A man called Rudy Guede, a known burglar, was also arrested for the crime as well as Patrick Lumumba, Knox's boss in her waitressing job. The police incompetence in this case was astounding and the real killer could still be on the loose. Many think Knox and Sollecito were guilty and the legal system in Italy was torn apart with the release of the two in 2011. The case went to the Supreme Court and the appeal fell in Knox's favour but not after her and Sollecito's lives were ruined by salacious tabloid press. The facts in this one are very much left to interpretation and Claire and I discuss at length the intricacies of the case; the suppositions made by the prosecution including the public prosecutor who thought he was some sort of rock star, Guiliano Mignini. We also discuss the role of the tabloid media in the case and how they swayed the public to presume guilt. Knox is still thought by some to have 'got away with murder' but what do you think?________________________This podcast is supported by the generous donations of the wonderful folks over at Patreon. S1E11: Christmas Behind Bars: A Special Episode with Amanda Knox, Jarrett Adams, & Jeffrey Deskovic In this special episode, Jason Flom talks to Amanda Knox, Jarrett Adams and Jeff Deskovic about what it's like for an innocent person who is forced to spend the holidays in prison. Amanda Knox was convicted of the murder of a 21-year-old British exchange student, Meredith Kercher, who died from knife wounds in the apartment she shared with Amanda in Perugia, Italy in 2007. Amanda and her then-boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, were both found guilty of killing Kercher, receiving 26- and 25-year prison sentences, respectively. Their convictions were subsequently overturned in 2011 and Amanda was released from prison after serving four years. In early 2014, the Italian Supreme Court ruled that they should both stand trial again and she and Sollecito were re-convicted. Finally, in March 2015, the Italian Supreme Court overturned both murder convictions, ending their eight-year ordeal. Jarrett Adams was 17 years old when he was wrongfully convicted of sexually assaulting a young woman at UW-Whitewater in 1998. He was sentenced to 28 years in prison and spent close to a decade incarcerated before his conviction was reversed with the help of the Wisconsin Innocence Project on the basis that trial counsel had been ineffective for failing to present the testimony of a critical witness. Jarrett graduated from Loyola Law School in May 2015 and is currently practicing law in New York and advocating for criminal justice reform. Jeffrey Deskovic was a 16-year-old high school sophomore when he was wrongfully convicted of the rape and murder of a high school classmate in 1991. Although hair and semen samples taken from the scene did not match Jeff’s DNA, he aroused the suspicion of detectives by weeping openly at the victim’s funeral. After six hours of intense interrogation, Jeff confessed to the crime, though he later contended in a lawsuit that police investigators had fed him the details of the killing and promised him that if he admitted guilt, he would not go to prison but would instead get psychiatric treatment. With the help of The Innocence Project, Jeff Deskovic was exonerated and released in 2006 after DNA analysis linked convict Stephen Cunningham to the crime and Cunningham confessed. wrongfulconvictionpodcast.com Wrongful Conviction with Jason Flom is a production of Lava For Good Podcasts in association with Signal Co. Steve Hewlett asks how the mistake came about and why the misinformation spread so rapidly. The coverage of the trial has been described as a media circus, driven by the press and public's fascination with Amanda Knox. American journalist Nina Burleigh has argued that there is a serious problem with Italian reporters who failed to properly investigate the case or ask the right questions.
