This month Lee takes a look at music from films about possibly the world's most famous cryptid, the Sasquatch - or as it/they are better known in pop and general culture: Bigfoot. There are just so many films, especially in the last thirty years or so, that the list is focused on the real peak period of interest, the 1970s and 1980s. Even then this list threatened to be much larger than it ended up being, but a lot of the music was impossible to source. Still, Lee feels this list is large enough to pay proper tribute to that mythical(?) hairy giant in the woods. --Main Theme from "Bigfoot" (1970) --Richard Podolor --The Legend of Boggy Creek from "The Legend of Boggy Creek" (1972) --Chuck Bryant & Earl E. Smith --Popcorn from "Shriek of the Mutilated" (1974) --Hot Butter --Ballad of McCullough's Mountain from "Blood Beast of Monster Mountain" (1975) --Tim York --Exits and Truckstops from "Creature from Black Lake" (1976) --Jim McCullough Jr. --High in the Mountains & Bigfoot Theme from "Sasquatch" (1976) --Lane Caudell & Al Capps --Suite from "Snowbeast" (1977) --Robert Prince --What's it Take to be a Believer from "In the Shadow of Big Foot" (1977) --Phillip Malbrough --Main Title from "Return to Boggy Creek" (1977) --Darrell Deck --Yeti from "Yeti: Giant of the 20th Century" (1977) --Sante Maria Romitelli feat. Buying fuel is a complicated process, and determining the best approach helps truck stop and travel center operators increase profitability while minimizing risks. A self-diagnosed fuel nerd, Randy Grizzle, director, sales & marketing at TACenergy, joined the podcast to cover best practices in fuel buying that can help travel center owners navigate the complexities of the fuel market. Grizzle helps listeners answer: What reports, indexes or key indicators should travel centers be monitoring? What one thing can a single store operator do to improve his or her fuel buying skills to improve profitability? What concerns should they be aware of in moving toward higher levels of ethanol such as E15 or E85? In collaboration with TACenergy, the NATSO Foundation released a Fuel Buying for Truck Stops and Travel Centers Toolkit. The comprehensive guide was created to give travel center operators a broad understanding of available fuel types, the basics of spot purchasing vs. index-based purchasing, and information on fuel price indices. It also offers insights into choosing branded vs. unbranded fuel, building supplier relationships, and more. Visit www.TACenergy.com for more information on TACenergy. Ever found yourself gripping the steering wheel, eyes peeled on the road, and suddenly realizing the weight of responsibility in each mile? That's where we kick things off, folks – a hearty welcome back post-holiday buzz, where I, Rich, get real about the trucking life, from the perils of distracted driving to the epic quest for truck parking. But it's not all serious business; I've got tales to tell, like my new gear for YouTube vids (cheers to the missus) and a slice of life with birthdays and a son who's got business savvy shoveling snow.Picture this: you're at a truck stop, where once banter flowed as freely as coffee, now silence reigns as screens glow. I open up about how we're adapting to rising costs, with truckers swapping diners for dashboards to cook up savings. We ponder the changes, like the push for connecting through pixels over pie, and what the ELD mandate means for owner-operators – including my own dance with the clock to grab family time. Finally, as the New Year rolls in, I'm not just blowing party horns; I'm laying out the welcome mat for your thoughts, your stories. I'm here sharing mine, from the triumphs to the tough times, like why I was MIA before the New Year – and I'm all ears for what you want to hear next. Our guest on this week's episode is Ian Arroyo, chief strategy officer at Freightos. Ships crossing the Red Sea are under constant threat of attacks by militant groups responding to the Israeli-Hamas conflict. The situation is constraining global trade and causing many shipping lines to bypass the Suez Canal and instead sail around Africa to reach Europe and North American destinations, resulting in huge increases in costs for shippers. Trucker Path, a developer of mobile apps and services for the trucking industry, released their annual list of the Top 100 Truck Stops in the U.S. – a guide to the top places for drivers to stop and eat, rest, and fuel up as they travel the nation's highways. See which truck stop tops the list. Many trucking firms and logistics operations are not happy after the U.S. Labor Department has released new rules defining independent contractors that could affect how drivers and others are classified. The new rules may require many of these workers to be classified as employees. But the rules are not very clear in what tests companies should use to make the correct classifications.
