CAN YOU HELP THE PODCAST?Dear Podcast Listener, thank you, I appreciate your support. This podcast aims to support dads all over the world, especially those struggling with their mental health. This podcast is my hobby, but I'd like it to become much more than that one day. For that to happen, I need the support of either one very wealthy angel investor or a few thousand, possibly slightly less wealthy (but no less generous) angel investors. To develop the podcast and hopefully support more dads, I need some help. With that in mind, if you enjoyed this episode and want to help me with what I'm trying to do, here is the link where you can leave a tip. ALL tips, regardless of size, are hugely appreciated, and as a thank you, anyone who leaves a tip will be entitled to a voice note message from me on their next birthday. After about a decade of setbacks & enough coffee to sink a ship, I'm a much happier dad. As previously mentioned, I want to try & help other dads be the best they can without losing their mental health. Mental health battles are something I am all too familiar with. In 2010, my GP suggested I do a 12-week CBT course with the NHS. During this course, I was diagnosed as having Pure OCD, which explained a lot.To Buy My Audiobook, First Time Dad, Click

I've been meditating on the two principles of uprightness and endurance and how they go hand in hand . . . one without the other and the ship is sunk. It seemed fitting to pull a segment out (my favorite segment . . . okay favorite episode) out from the archives due to be laid out with the flu. I've gone back to listen to this show, for my own encouragement, multiple times. I hope you find it as encouraging as I do.Arno Rafael Minkkinen, Ira Glass, and Lucas Skrobot shares their different view points on the Tortoise and the Hare.We hear an excerpt from Minkkinen, the famous photographer, share about a bus stop in Helsinki and how it relates to our work and our art.Ira Glass "stops by" to share about what is required of us to "close the gap" between our taste and our ability. And I share the REAL reason the tortoise beats the hare... and it isn't the reason you think. Here are some link from the show...Arno Rafael Minkkinen: and his speech --> https://petapixel.com/2013/03/13/the-helsinki-bus-station-theory-finding-your-own-vision-in-photography/Ira Glass on Story telling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2wLP0izeJE&list=PLE108783228F1E008&index=3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sp_8pwkg_R8&list=PLE108783228F1E008&index=4 warphotography VALUE FOR VALUE- If you get value out of this show— support the show in the value that you've received. You can do that by visiting the website and giving Fiat currency thereORYou can stream bitcoin by listening Podcasting 2.0 Certified apps: Podfriend - Breez - Sphinx – PodstationTo find one visit http://newpodcastapps.com and find a player with the “VALUE” tag. Whether it is correct or not, many people view the amounts deducted from their paychecks during their working years to fund Social Security as a tax. After decades of paying these taxes, many are shocked when they learn that up to 85 percent of those benefits could now be subject to income taxes throughout their retirement years. We explain strategies that could be used to possibly reduce or eliminate the taxation of benefits.

By Pastor Chuck Ryan The Lord Is My Banner Text: Exodus 17:8-16 & Ephesians 6:19 Thesis: God works through his leadership to bring victory to His People 1. “The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites (Vs. 8).” A. The Amalekites were descendants of Esau (See Genesis 36:12 & 16). B. The Amalekites disregarded God and His people and brought God's judgement on themselves. *“Do not be deceived; God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows (Galatians 6:7).” *“So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God (Romans 14:2).” *“And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment (Hebrews 9:27).” 2. The helper of Moses was Joshua (Vs. 9-10). A. Joshua was mentioned here for the first time. He was mentioned in Numbers 13:16 as “Hoshea but Moses named him Joshua” which means “Jehovah is our Savior.” B. In this account Moses called on Joshua to form an army. 1. The weapons used by Joshua were probably taken from the Egyptians after their defeat by God in the Red Sea. C. Moses, Aaron and Hur observed the battle from the top of the hill. 3. “As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning (Vs. 11).” A. God chose to use Moses, the leader of Israel, as the conduit for his power to flow through to bring victory to the entire Nation of Israel. 1. God chose Moses at the “Burning Bush” to deliver and lead the nation of Israel. * “Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire t did not burn up. So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight - why the bush does not burn up.” When The Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” (Exodus 3:1-4) 2. God continues to raise up leaders today to serve in the building of the “Kingdom of God”. * “So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up... (Ephesians 4:11-12)” B. So long as Moses held up his arms and hands up Joshua and the army were victorious. C. When Moses' arms grew tired and was no longer able to hold them in the air, Joshua and the army began to lose the battle. D. Aaron and Hur propped up Moses' arm up to the Lord and Joshua and the army of God were victorious in battle. (Read Exodus 17:15-16) Two Principles: 1. Always lift high the name of Jesus. *“And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself (John 12:32).” 2. Always lift your leadership in prayer. *“Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you… (2 Thessalonians 3:1, ESV)” *“Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel… (Ephesians 6:9)”

The story of Mary Magdalene at the tomb on that first Easter morning gives us two principles that go towards underpinning our own relationship with Jesus
Air Date: 10 13 21 Wednesday Joshua 1:1-9 | Like the two wings of a bird, like the two oars of a boat, both essential to its proper movement, are the two principles of faith and obedience, which are ever linked together in a rightly regulated Christian life, and which are interwoven in the opening scenes of the book of Joshua. The Watchword of Faith The Land of Promise was won by faith. Every step was a step of faith: the Jordan was crossed by faith; by faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they had been compassed seven days; by faith Rahab was saved, and perished not with them who believed not. By faith every victory was achieved in their onward progress until at last Caleb had claimed the heights of Hebron, and Joshua had reached his inheritance at Timnath Serah. Here we have some of the features of faith most strongly emphasized. We have the present tense of faith—Joshua 1:2b: "The land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites." God here speaks in the immediate present. It is not something He is going to do, but something He does do, this moment. So faith ever speaks. So God ever gives. So He is meeting you today, in the present moment. Welcome to my program notes. I do put time and effort into these and they are instructive. So you can read them, copy them, print them or save them. They may be helpful in the future. Celestial Meditation is about entering our Sacred Rest, the very peace of God. It is an experience where we observe our authentic true self. You will ‘see' your dreams and your heart's ❤️ desires, your successes and your abundant living. Meditation works from the inside out. In other words you experience the Kingdom of God which is in you. We may have believed in the past that we could not quiet our minds and enter into the peace of God. That is a lie. It is a limiting belief. You can and you will if you simply follow this simple guided meditation. I will help you with the ‘how to'. Through the personal study and practice of many meditations and teachings I have selected TWO PRINCIPLES. Number 1. Intuition. - follow your heart Number 2. Simplicity - if it seems too hard, too difficult - IT IS
Two Principles John 4:36 and 1 Corinthians 3:5-7 1. Evangelism is a Process John 4:36 36 Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together. 2. God is responsible for the Harvest 1 Corinthians 3:5-7 5 What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. 7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.
The power of two is inextricably more powerful than what someone can do alone. Having a partner in life and business makes life itself more fulfilling and fun. But how do you know you’re choosing the right friends? The right spouse or business partner? In this episode of Both on Board, Ray and I talk about some of the criteria we use to choose the people we surround ourselves with. Highlights From Our Conversation [0:50] The Power of Two [6:15] How do you choose the right people? [12:50] Do they act with integrity? [16:05] Give relationships time to develop [23:10] What does a good partnership look and feel like? [28:55] Choosing a partner is an art [33:50] Be strategic with relationships [38:10] Couples Cruise coming! It begins with value alignment One of the key things we look at when building relationships with potential friends, business partners, etc. is their value system. For the relationship to work in the long run, we need to align on core values and beliefs. Do they show genuine care for others? Do they give to charities? Do they have a commitment to personal growth? You can’t force someone to meet your values. It’s okay if they’re different. They don’t have to be mirror images of you—you want diversity. But you want to know they are people of integrity, who do what they say they will. The power of two begins with YOU I rely heavily on my intuition, or “gut feeling”. I’m good at listening and reading body language, whereas Ray is a “love at first sight” kind of guy. Ray instantly vibes with people and thinks they’re amazing. I take time to feel them out. I note if I have synergy with them or not. If it doesn’t feel good or it doesn’t feel easy it’s probably not the right thing to do. We are on opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to feeling people out. Ray and I balance each other out. I help him be more cautious, and he pushes me to be more open. We leverage the power of two. It takes time to build relationships Along with core value alignment and intuition, you need to factor in time. Is the other person’s behavior in alignment with what they say? Relationships/partnerships/friendships don’t get tested until stress is added. As Ray likes to say, how do they act when they get punched in the face? Don’t get attached to their personality until you know who they are. Sometimes your initial perception is not the reality. People deal with daily stressors and things that impact them—they aren’t always going to put their best face forward. It also depends on how you are showing up. If you aren’t showing up authentically, how can they expect you to? If you are clear on who you are and how you feel about yourself, you’ll attract the same kind of people. What does a good partnership look like? Ray and I are the first to admit that the right person makes all the difference. As you look at your core values, listen to your intuition, and give the relationship time it comes down to who do you want to be on board with? You don’t have to be the same, but you have to be on board with each other. A good partnership is about finding a way for both of you to show up authentically as your best selves and create magic. Your differences should melt away as you work in alignment. Other than personal development, the best way to invest your time is in relationships. You want to be strategic in your decisions and invest in partnerships where you give value to each other. When you choose wisely, the power of two will be more evident and fruitful. To hear how some of our best relationships and partnerships started, how we help balance each other out, and more—listen to the whole episode! 1 Corinthians 9:24-26 NLT IS THE FINISH IN FOCUS? 2 Timothy 4:6-8 NLT Two Problems & Two Principles to keep in mind: PROBLEM: When we live like there is no finish line A FINISH LINE IS GUARANTEED PROBLEM: When we assume there shouldn't be a fight THE FIGHT ISN'T JUST TO FINISH, THE FIGHT IS TO FINISH FAITHFUL 2 Timothy 4:9-11 NLT
What is Sufism? A formal Explanation Part 18: The Final Two Principles: Night Rising (Tahajjud) and Strengthening Awareness and Love for Allah. The Eight Principle of the Path: Staying away from excessiveness whatever form that may be: in speech, food or love of worldly things. The Ninth Principle of the Path: The importance of the Night Prayer (Tahajjud) in particularly waking up in the last third portion of the night. Why in particular is this time blessed? - There are verses in the Qur’an encouraging us to do istighfar at this time. Ya‘kub (upon him be peace) promised his sons when they confessed their wrong that he would seek forgiveness for them ‘soon’. It is reported that his intention was to pray during the later part of the night as the prayer made at that hour is answered specially. - This is the best time to do any dhikr and focus ones attention purely on Allah. This is because there are no distractions, no duties calling and no interference from anyone. - The last portion of the night is generally when the mischief dies down and the evil doers of the night have gone to sleep and the mischief doers of the day have not yet risen. - The last portion of the night is also a time when the brain has rested and is now alert and fresh. The Tenth Principle of the Path: Reflecting on the creation of Allah and having a constant dhikr regimen. - The universe around us has been made for us to reflect upon. Everything which it contains is a means for us to understand our Creator and to comprehend the subtleties of His wisdom. This all depends on how we are looking at it. The task for us as the Shaykh mentions is to change the way we look at things. By directing ones focus to the right objective (which is Allah), everything around us will become a means of reflection and connection to Allah. The two benefits of reflection… 1) The awareness and consciousness of Allah strengthens. 2) The love for Allah increases What is the objective of dhikr: Emptying out the heart from anything which is other then Allah. Being continuous upon your dhikr and its benefits: - Abundance of dhikr will remove all those things preoccupying the heart away from Allah. Allah will become dominant in one’s heart and thoughts. - The more a person remembers Allah the easier their work load becomes. By giving time to Allah and remembering Him Allah will place barakah in one’s time and efforts and complete his or her tasks with goodness. - Engaging in the remembrance of Allah creates a light which emits from the heart. The strength of this light will leave its effect on the rest of the limbs giving a person the strength to carry out good deeds and turn one away from the love of this dunya. - A quote mentions “the one who is given the ability to do dhikr has been given the plan of wilayah (close friendship with Allah)”. The greatest thing a person can be doing is remembering Allah. As mentioned in the Qur’an “Remember Me and I will remember you..” A person feels elated if a notable, well-known, respected person makes mention of them by the words ‘I remembered you’, so what can be said in the case here when it is no other than the Lord of all the Worlds remembering His lowly servant.

John Rawls is easily the most celebrated and influential political philosopher of the 20th Century, and his impact remains remarkably strong today. The central concepts with which his theory of justice begins are now components of the philosophical vernacular: The Original Position, Veil of Ignorance, Primary Goods, and his Two Principles of Justice (especially the Difference Principle) all will be well known to the majority of professional philosophers. It is less commonly acknowledged that the apparatus just referenced is but the beginning of his theory, and not its ultimate concern. Throughout his work, Rawls is attempting to address a fundamental philosophical question: Can a society committed to the freedom and equality of its citizens yet arrange social institutions in a way that reliably cultivate within persons the attitudes and dispositions required for social justice? In John Rawls: Reticent Socialist (Cambridge UP, 2017), William A. Edmundson argues that Rawlsian justice calls for a socialist economic order. Could it be that America's premiere political philosopher was a socialist?
