He discusses the need for authors to promote their work well in advance, outlining a 90-day pre-launch strategy involving social media, email campaigns, and targeted messaging to build awareness. Frank's “Trust the Process” approach consists of understanding the author's goals, creating compelling content, and using multi-channel strategies to gain traction in an oversaturated market. The conversation also touches on the parallels between book promotion and public relations, highlighting the difficulty authors face when competing for attention in a crowded space. Frank underscores the need for resilience and adaptability, urging authors to invest in a strategy that can consistently keep their work visible. Three Takeaways: Early and Consistent Promotion: Frank emphasizes a 90-day pre-launch campaign to build momentum for a book's release, utilizing social media, email, and podcasts to keep the book top of mind. Importance of Storytelling and Engagement: Beyond the content, Frank notes the importance of personal stories and interactive elements to make campaigns memorable and relatable. Resilience and Adaptability in Marketing: Frank stresses that successful campaigns require resilience and a willingness to adapt to audience reactions and market conditions. On episode #160 of JoCo on the Go, we take a look at treatment courts in Johnson County. Building on the success of a Veterans Treatment Court, the county has launched two new treatment courts, one for behavioral health and another adult treatment court, commonly known as drug court. These courts provide pathways for defendants in the criminal justice system to receive supervision, evaluation and treatment for issues that may underlie criminal behavior instead of focusing on more traditional approaches.
In this episode, we focus on Veterans Treatment Court (VTC) in District 11A which covers Harnett, Johnston, and Lee counties. Guests include Veterans Court Director Zane Campbell, District Attorney Suzanne Matthews (Prosecutorial District 12), and Harnett County Clerk of Superior Court Renee Whittenton. In the interview, guests discuss the court's process, the issues veterans face returning to civilian life, and Campbell shares his experience as a graduate of VTC before becoming its director. "I was struggling with opioid addiction. I was using substances to help combat all of the craziness that was going on in my head. Subconsciously, I didn't even realize what was going on," said Campbell on the podcast. "This court truly did save my life. I don't think I would be sitting here talking about any of this had it not been for this court." VTCs are one of six types of Recovery Courts within the Judicial Branch. These courts are designed to assist chemically dependent offenders with their court ordered treatment plans. The VTC in District 11A is one of eight VTCs in the state which have the mission to help veterans involved in the court system due to mental health disorders, trauma, and substance use. The goal of each VTC is to connect eligible veterans with benefits and treatment earned through military service. To learn more about VTCs, please visit NCcourts.gov.
Veterans Treatment Court is a place where some veterans who've gotten into legal trouble can focus on rehabilitation rather than punishment, and where the approach is tailored to vets.

How it got started in a tribute to how one man with an idea, who can convey that idea to others, can make a big difference in many lives. Having been active in the court since its inception he is in a unique position to help us understand how it started and now has become the model for courts at all levels across the nation.
