Happy 4th birthday to us! What did we get ourselves to celebrate? Ah, nothing much, just the epic tale of two pedantic idiots fighting over possession of The Last Brain Cell as they make their dramatic journey to Hell and back (which happens to involve a massive, hemisphere-shaking ween). ...We're talking about Dante and Virgil. Not Megan and RJ. In case that wasn't clear. We DID buy ourselves one of God's Unlimited Pasta Passes though. News and commentary for Monday, 11 January, 2020. Day 5 of CCP-run AmeriKa-with-a-K. This may be the most important Monday news recap ever, even though we didn't see a grid blackout, Nationwide Emergency Broadcast, or mass arrests of communist Chinese puppet traitors. We DID see what might be called the "Night of the Long E-Knives".

t's hard not to get emotional reminiscing over this past year. When we started recording in December of 2019, we had no idea what was in store for the year. I am so grateful for the weekly consistency of getting together every Sunday with Kellie and Meredith for 52 weeks. It has been my sense of normalcy during earthquakes, riots, and the COVID-19 pandemic. What good friends I have to commit to my crazy idea of having a weekly podcast talking about goals. Today is a bittersweet day for me because Kellie won't be joining us again for season 2 of the podcast. Although I know we will still be friends and hang out, I started crying when she walked in to record today. I hate getting emotional! Kellie and Meredith are the two friends I see the most. They know my inconsistencies and my excuses. They see my strengths and my determination. Being vulnerable each week about goals and spending many mornings walking the park together has created a friendship beyond this podcast. Kellie, we will miss you but thank you for coming along for the ride! The post Week 52: We Did it! A Year in Review appeared first on 52 Weeks Podcast.
Do you like Patrick Bateman? We're not actually here to discuss American Psycho, so the point is probably moot. We ARE here, however to discuss Bateman's favourite band outside of Huey Lewis and the News, Genesis. Welcome to episode 140 of Love That Album. Popular myth suggests that the world is broken up into two sorts of people – those who like their rock music straight forward and edgy, and those who like virtuoso noodling with complex counterpoint and time signatures. That latter group group can be broken up into two groups – those who like Gabriel-era Genesis, and those who like 80s pop Genesis. The problem is, what about the four albums in between? (Or maybe the problem is I'm just talking guff). In 1980, the trio of Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks released what could be considered their final album that tipped its hat to the more progressive rock days while looking forward to the popular monster that they would become in the 1980s. That album is Duke. I am joined by sound engineer, Frank Verderosa. Up until last year, he was a part of the Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast team. He's a long time Genesis fan across all eras, but this album holds a very strong place in his heart. We had a great discussion with focus on Duke, but also discuss whether the latter Genesis albums are bereft of prog of any sort (and whether the early albums are completely free of pop), sound production values, film arcs and broadway musicals....and noticeably avoid any talk of serial killers. We DID make note of one thing that would guarantee Gilbert Gottfried's interest in having Phil Collins on his show....tune in and find out. I was thrilled to have Frank on as guest. Keep an eye out for when he finally unleashes his podcast Unsung: The People You Don't Know You Know...it's gonna be great. If you have any audio needs or just want to read what he's up to sound-wise, go to https://www.frankverderosa.com/ Download this episode of LTA from Spotify, Stitcher or iTunes (search for “Love That Album podcast”). Love That Album is proudly part of the Pantheon Podcast network. Go to http://pantheonpodcasts.com to check out all their great shows. You can send me feedback at rrrkitchen@yahoo.com.au (written or mp3 voicemail) or join the Facebook group at http://www.facebook.com/groups/lovethatalbum If you’d consider writing an iTunes review I’d be immensely grateful. However, it’d be even better if you told a friend about the podcast and Pantheon – at a (socially distanced) barbecue, over coffee (on Skype), on social media….whatever way you choose, consider me grateful.

HOLY RECORDING AND STREAM KEPT CUTTING OUT BATMAN!!!We struggled to get this episode streaming and recording. The software kept cutting the stream and then losing the recording throughout this episode. We were able to recover a lot of it and still had a good time, but WOW what a test of patience. This week we discuss such things as Elon Musk’s Neuralink which has been testing connecting to animals brains with the hopes to use this to assist those with disabilities, but also enhance the human experience to even more police violence. So much craziness has taken over this world for the good and the bad, and we want to continue the conversations that we find not only important but interesting. We DID get into shower thoughts, but they were sadly cut-off in the recording. We collected the ones that we read below in the show notes. See ya next time for a hopefully smoother experience! Who knew Amy Schumer would have such a delightful cooking show? WE DID. Because her schtick is LITERALLY just Basic Cable in the kitchen. Carlie and Katie also talk about the most recent developments to the Varsity Blues scandal -- there's really something for everyone!

Suburban Dope is officially BACK! and im taking the show in a new direction. Starting with this new episode here. Old friends from high school, My brother Avon came through to the Suburbs and we chilled like it was 2004 all over again. It's funny though, because we are now MEN. We've grown as people, we've made some mistakes, we've learned some lessons....and some we still have to learn LOL! but one thing is for certain, we are still friends who love and care for each other. WE DID have some drink so be prepared for that..LOL! and another friend from High school even made a phone call in the middle of the episode. Im excited to really give you all the REAL feel of a black man from the suburbs. I cant wait to catch up with you all weekly and tell you stories of "suburban activity", and maybe share some jokes in between. Suburban Dope is BACK! and I cant wait to bring my Life to your ears each week. I'm Andrew Barrow, and I am a black man from the suburbs, and you just might say...I'm DOPE! Technically we are shooting for having this episode cover our entry in 2019. We DID a show, but technical crap on the back end with Talkshoe prevented us from ever airing it (until now). So here it is. Joe and Jay actually did it, and it literally took us a year (actually just a few days shy of a year) to post it. We talked about UFC Fight Night 143, and if anyone remembers that off the top of their heads, then kudos to them. Just last night, Microsoft revealed the final form of their Project Scarlett console: Xbox Series X. But we aren't talking about that this episode, because we recorded this two days before The Game Awards! The news cycle makes fools of us all. But aside from the shape of the box and its name, we basically knew all there was to know about the next-gen system already, and even a bit about its little brother. The system that may well end up being the Xbox Series S, codename Lockhart, is still very much in the works, but where will it fit into Microsoft's ecosystem? We DID get to record the day of Sony's 3rd State of Play showcase, which had some expected announcements and a few surprises, such as Resident Evil 3 coming to a gaming platform near you sooner than you think. We've also got news on a new BioShock in development, Sony's game changing multi-platform MLB licensing deal, the death of Redbox (to us, anyway) and FBI drug busts! Wait, what was that last one again? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/absentminded/message
Are you down for some unpacking with the Dearing Team?! It wouldn't be a team podcast without our witty banter and ever-changing introduction chats. Joey was the -willing....well, unknowingly willing- victim this week as we chat about blemishes and Dr. Shea coming to the rescue. (Cue halo over Shea's head and sly grin). Okay, okay, now into the meat of it. We had a plethora of updates to discuss, per usual. Interestingly enough, the Dearing Team always finds a way to dive in deep to the values and ideals that make us who we are. After all, who could ever get tired of dreaming? Here are a few sneak peaks: -The team discusses the upcoming Phx Casting workshop and the unique perspective it comes from. - Being your own buisness as an actor. - You seriously need to buy Matt's "Acting is my Day Job" book....... Like, right now. Check out the link (https://www.dearingstudio.com/actingismydayjob/)! - Did we get new interns?? (Spoiler, WE DID!) - Knowing Mastery, practicing Mastery and seeking Mastery. The performances by the blue-chip prospects (not to mention Nick Nolte as their complicated coach) in Blue Chips, the 38th episode of Scoring At The Movies, are so much better than the movie as a whole. Was the problem with the script, even though sports-movie guru Ron Shelton wrote this? Was it poor choices in William Friedkin’s direction, particularly the inappropriate use of so much classic rock on the soundtrack? Was it studio interference? Well, something was missing in any case, especially in the movie’s crappy second half. We DID appreciate the main theme of the massive corruption that’s long been present in “amateur” sports. The students are really just unpaid servants. This episode isn’t all serious criticism though. We enjoyed some of the film’s humorous touches, plus Ryan has a fun rant about “directional” schools. So don’t take a payoff...or abruptly quit because you were the payoffer. Just dunk this one into your earholes!Twitter time: @moviefiend51 and @scoringatmoviesOur website: scoringatthemovies.podbean.com

REAL WITCHES REVIEW TV/MOVIE WITCHES! We have to have fun SOMETIMES and every time some new TV series or movie comes out featuring a witch prominently, the witchy parts of the internet get all… a flutter. Sometimes angry, sometimes excited, sometimes… very confused or conflicted. A flutter, for sure. Suffice to say, there are feelings and opinions EVERYWHERE. And we’ve seen a couple “real doctors review medical shows” type videos and thought – HEY! How about REAL WITCHES review WITCHES!? We DID give ourselves some parameters – we’re looking for popular, mainstream media released in the last 3 years and popular in the USA (no foreign media allowed). This was a TON of fun, so we are definitely planning a part 2 with less rigid restrictions, so stay tuned – and we’d LOVE to hear what you think! ********** If you would like to support us please consider subscribing to a perk on our Patreon Page: https://www.patreon.com/wewitchesthree We Witches Three Podcast: https://wewitchesthree.podbean.com/ Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/wewitchesthree Twitter: http://bit.ly/2GGMMpx

Today is a rather interesting day ... This is a recording we made one year ago, during the Utah Dance Film Festival. We meet Katie Bruce Sorensen with the Utah Dance Film Festival, taking place at the SCERA Center for the Arts February 23 and 24. Even if dance is already a part of your life, you may be new to this event and the work that is being exhibited here. Guest: Katie Bruce Sorensen Link: The Utah Dance Film Festival Program note: You have heard us mention we will be talking about marvelous Martha Glissmeyer, a dear member of the SCERA family who passed away a few weeks ago, on a future episode. We DID get together to record some wonderful stories, and that episode will be released in a few days.
We do a solid hour with Fancy Nancy today. This is NOT the original show we did, she helped us un-fuck the mistakes that were made and came back in for a re-do. ENJOY !!! WE DID !!
Our week was sent into a tailspin when we got a last-minute invitation to appear on The Rachael Ray Show, and within 24 hours we were on a plane to New York so we could DIY in front of a live studio audience the very next morning. As you can imagine, we have some pretty hilarious stories from behind the scenes (it turns out Rachael Ray was NOT trying to hug Sherry) and the whole adventure was bookended by two other big beach house milestones: moving furniture in and spending our first night there! So we’re sharing how that went - and what woke us up at 6am - plus we’re learning the hardest pieces of IKEA furniture to assemble (who knew?! WE DID!). We also dive into our favorite blog for getting into the Halloween spirit, and we share what store is actually making some pretty great mass produced art these days. http://gamingcore.freetzi.com Hello and welcome to a very awkward episode of Gamingcore! First, we had to restart three time. Then we THOUGHT we lost the first 20 minutes, but I found it just before I went to bed, even though the last hour and a half you can hear us bitching about it. I had to redo the intro. I had to splice a lot of shit. It was just a crazy, wacky episode, but very fun! Hosted by Don, Chris and Russ, joined in the StickAM by many folks, some of those being Mickey, Freddie, Kate and Em, among others, and we had plenty of alchohol. Behind all this crazyness was a Pokemon themed episode. We DID talk some Pokemon talk, so fear not. But this was mostly just a big birthday party. xD I hope everyone at least gets some laughs about this, if nothing else. Remember to join us for the regular show coming later.
