Like so many other businesses, Guelcher & his team have also dealt with supply chain issues over the past couple years. Between the parts & microchip shortages, Guelcher has stayed true to the core values of his business to carry them thru. Today we are talking to Tony Guernsey, former national head of Wilmington Trust wealth management, a longtime senior banker at JP Morgan, founder of the UBS US private bank. Tony wrote an unpublished memoir called Divas, Icons, and Felons with his wisdom and great stories from his distinguished five decades managing money for many wealthy and famous clients such as Steve Jobs, Jay Chiat, and Christo. Tony was very generous to share some of them with me and it is a rare peek inside this often fascinating and eccentric world, but it also highlights the lack of education out there for those who have the responsibilities of wealth. I hope you enjoy my talk with Tony Guernsey as much as I did. BIOGRAPHY: Peter E. ”Tony” Guernsey Jr. was born and raised in Long Island, New York. He was educated at the Taft School in Watertown, CT, and Lake Forest College, in Lake Forest, Illinois. During the Vietnam War, he spent 30 months in the U.S Naval Reserve at Great Lakes Naval base in North Chicago, Illinois. Simultaneously he was an ice hockey referee and drove a taxi cab in Chicago. In 1972 Tony joined JP Morgan and over the next 43 years re-engineered or started 42 National Wealth Management offices around the U.S. for Morgan, UBS, and Wilmington Trust. Today he is a consultant and serves as an outside independent family trustee. Tony and his wife, Eve, share their lives between New York City, Bedford, New York, and Martha's Vineyard. Between the two of them, they have three children and four grandchildren. Cumulatively, the two of them worked at JP Morgan for 50 years. In 1972, Tony was a contributing author of the book, Skates, Sticks and Men, the story of American Hockey in the United States. Tony was voted All-American Division 3 in Ice Hockey in 1970 and in 2006 was awarded the esteemed Lifetime Achievement award by Private Asset Management. Crypto miners' share prices were up 9.6% between Wednesday and Thursday as bitcoin showed signs of a steady recovery, breaking over the $21,000 mark. Digihost Technology, TeraWulf and Marathon Digital led the pack with 26.6%, 18.94% and 17.62% increases respectively from Wednesday's open to Thursday's close. TeraWulf's run came as the company announced on Tuesday that it had added $50 million to a $123.5 million loan signed with Wilmington Trust to continue its growth. Investment bank D.A. Davidson last week slashed its expectation for computing power growth for the rest of the year to include only "current, funded orders," according to a note from senior research analyst Christopher Brendler. However, that still represents a 37% hashrate increase for last three quarters of 2022 for the five miners that Brendler analyzed, including Argo Blockchain, Hut 8 Mining, Core Scientific and Riot Blockchain. The Saudis topped the volume charts in its debut weekend with $7.7 million in sales. The collection of 5,555 NFTs, whose artwork is a derivative of the famed CryptoPunks collectibles, were free to mint on July 9 and sold out within hours. Calendar-wise, we've turned the page and the first half of a challenging 2022 is behind us—but inflation is still hovering at historic highs and global growth projections remain depressed. They delve into how history may shed light on the present and—with impending Consumer Price Index readings and Fed rate decisions—how portfolios should be positioned in light of what they believe lies ahead.

As we entered 2022, even the onset of the omicron variant failed to shake markets' optimism. With much of the world learning to cope with an endemic COVID-19 and rates set to rise, the stage was set for strong global growth. From the Russia/Ukraine conflict to inflation surprises, investors would be hard-pressed to say they were anticipating this level of macro uncertainty. Chief Investment Officer Tony Roth sat down with Wilmington Trust's Head of Investment Strategy, Meghan Shue, to talk us through the investment implications of the wider landscape.

For many wealthy families, concentrated liquid investment positions present special types of issues. More often than not, a diversification plan for a position that has been built up over decades, is relegated to a 5 minute discussion. And it shouldn't.
