Jessica Fukuchi has been in the insurance industry since 2008 and is the President of PCRG Insurance located in Washington. Jessica is a mother, travel enthusiast, community helper, and social butterfly. In this episode of Coterie Insurance's podcast, And I Quote, Ashleigh Burden, Marketing Manager at Coterie, gets to interview Jessica about her success in the insurance industry and how she has built her referral-only agency. Some of the main highlights in this episode: - Recruiting and hiring in the insurance agency. Jessica says that PCRG puts the people first. As a remote-first company, culture is extremely important at her agency. The human side of business comes ahead of the business side of things. When people want to show up for you and your business, that's where growth happens. - Advice for new agents or agents looking to start their own agency. Jessica shares that she went through a lot of recent changes and shifts when it comes to her servicing model. She notes that a business needs a growth plan in order to be successful, but spending time, in the beginning, creating the processes or setting the steps for servicing and creating a plan for establishing boundaries could help avoid big shifts 4-5 years in. - Being a strong woman leader in the industry. Not only does Jessica run her own agency, but she also spends time networking, attending events, and speaking at them, too. Part of her agency is her own personal brand and expertise that she brings to the insurance industry as an influencer and expert. In this episode of And I Quote, Duncan Crystal, Co-founder of Herald, joins our host, Ann Boger, VP of Scaling at Coterie Insurance to discuss finding and focusing on your business's core competency. Knowing what your business excels in will help determine how you position and market your brand to your potential niche audience. Also, understanding what distinguishes you from your competitors will help you find the best partners that can complement and enhance your business. It is easy to get distracted from the big picture or to be pulled in many different directions when you are starting out or even when industries are changing or evolving. As an owner or stake holder at your business, it is your responsibility to remember what your “core competency” is so you can stay on track. Utilizing partners to build your business isn't you taking the “easy” way, it is you taking the best way. Automation is good for your business. It isn't eliminating you or any other human that works at your office, all it is doing is making it easier for you all to do your jobs more efficiently. As an insurance agent, agency owner or broker, your focus should be on relationship building, connecting with clients, creating content that resonates with your audience and many other things that “can't be automated”. This way, when it comes to providing a quote your potential client will already feel like they can trust you…plus it will help when you get them that quote quickly using technology like Coterie Insurance. What makes a successful business partnership? On this episode on "And I Quote: Because Relationships Matter", Bailey Preusse, Business Development Manager at Alignable shares how to create successful partnerships through networking and providing value. Building relationships in the insurance industry is natural. From the face of it, the he industry seems transactional, but in fact relationships are the key. These valuable connections include partnerships with other insurance experts but also with clients and your niche target market. At the core of this episode, the biggest takeaway is to network with likeminded industry experts and small businesses that are equally as passionate as you are and have a similar mission. You want your relationship to be mutually beneficial and worthwhile. What are your strengths? Weaknesses? Where can you improve? Think about the answers to these questions and figure out if you know someone or could connect with someone that can either provide education or assistance in areas you want to improve on. When you network with them, remember to understand where you could also offer them value, too. Credits: Thank you Brian Thomas, Director of Claims Experience for being an amazing co-host. Video marketing is one of the best ways to reach your target audience in 2022, even as an insurance agent. It is extremely imperative to develop a social media strategy that ranks video as one of the most needed pieces of content you are pushing to your audience. Showing your face, providing education and sharing key information about your business is necessary if you want to reach your target audience. This episode features Alex Dopazo, partner at Dopazo and Associates Insurance Services in Florida. Alex has been creating videos on YouTube since 2016. As an early adaptor to video marketing, he has had plenty of time to grow his following, create a strategy that works and understand the ins and outs. The knowledge insurance agents, brokers and agency owners could grab the attention of a small business owner who may just be starting out. And at what cost does it take to make a video? Seriously, you can use your phone now! Listen to this episode for the best tips and tricks for using video marketing in the insurance industry.
