In 2022 Aspen Arora found herself being medically evacuated during active duty in the Middle East. Upon arriving in San Diego, she was told it would be 6-8 weeks before she could get an intake appointment. Thankfully, she survived. During those weeks, however, Aspen was informed of the passing of at least 10 of her active duty loved ones. And the death notifications kept coming. She learned that many of their deaths were preventable and were, in some part, due to lack of access to healthcare. This Veteran's Day weekend, Aspen is launching Healing Can't Wait, a new local nonprofit that pairs active duty service members and veterans with holistic healers + wellness providers to get immediate care they desperately need. Aspen joins us on the podcast to share her personal story, her journey as a healer, and how we as a community can help make this nonprofit a reality.
