L'incidente stradale è avvenuto tra lo svincolo dell'A31 e Vicenza Nord in direzione Piovene Rocchette. Sul posto si è reso necessario anche l'intervento dei vigili del fuoco, oltre a quello del Suem 118 partito da Vicenza, per soccorrere i guidatori di un'Audi e di un van, rimasti lievemente feriti. Illeso il camionista.

Un operaio 56enne che stava lavorando in un cantiere sull'autostrada A31 Valdastico nei pressi di Vicenza Nord, dove è in corso il rifacimento della pavimentazione, è stato travolto nel primo pomeriggio da un furgone e si trova ora ricoverato nel reparto di rianimazione dell'ospedale San Bortolo di Vicenza.

L'incidente è stato provocato dalla perdita della pedana di carico del camion: questa si è staccata dal mezzo e per evitarla l'autista del furgone si è schiantato contro il guardrail. I pompieri hanno lavorato oltre mezz'ora prima di riuscire a liberare l'autista, rimasto incastrato nelle lamiere. L'uomo è stato stabilizzato dal personale del Suem 118 e trasportato in elicottero all'ospedale di Vicenza in codice rosso.

During World War II, the U.S. Army experimented with a bizarre plan: using live bats to firebomb Japanese cities. In this week's episode of the Futility Closet podcast we'll describe the crazy history of the bat bomb, the extraordinary brainchild of a Pennsylvania dentist.
