Prior to 2021, former members of Canadian rock band The Mailman's Children joined forces with other artists to record 23 original songs. At the top of 2021, the newly formed Pop Rock band surfaced as Hello Fiasco.Hello Fiasco is considered Canadian-American because its frontman Eric LaBossiere (born Canadian) lives in Helena, Montana (USA). The rest of the band lives in Winnipeg, including Joel Couture (bass), Joel Perreault (lead guitars/backing vocals), Ivan Burke (drums), and Guy Abraham (keys/Ableton/backing vocals). Since its official release this summer, the band's debut album "Find The Shoreline" has earned 3,000,000 streams, and been placed on over 6,000 Spotify playlists. The album's first single, “Hold Me Close” has earned 700,000 streams, and 190,000 views on the official YouTube video, and the song is currently receiving XM, terrestrial, internet, Cable and TV radio airplay in over 25 countries. The album itself was co-produced by both LaBossiere and award-winning producer John Paul Peters (Propagandhi, Comeback Kid, Faouzia, Cancer Bats, Begonia). Notably, the album was mastered by American Grammy-winning engineer Randy Merrill of Sterling Sound (Imagine Dragons, Cage The Elephant, Muse, Bieber, Adele, Lady Gaga). Because the band prides itself on coming from the side of Pop Rock where the quality of lyrics, music and originality still stands for something, HF has been compared to Panic! At The Disco, Fall Out Boy, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand and David Bowie. HF's first performances include a sold-out headlining show at Canada's renowned Festival du Voyageur, as well as an opening slot for The Watchmen, I Mother Earth and Bif Naked at Winnipeg's Burt Block Party. The band is currently in the process of scheduling its first North American tour dates for 2023. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Alex Cuba grew up 50 minutes west of Havana immersed in the music of his town Artemisa. His father, the musician Valentin Puentes, is a household name in the country and prioritized Cuban music in the house growing up. When Alex was six years old, Valentin told his son not to sing, leading Alex to concentrate on his bass guitar playing. As a teenager, Alex rebelled and started soaking in the sounds of American music; blues, jazz, rock and funk. This has lead him to develop a unique style of Latin music that crosses cultures and appeals to people who don't even speak his language. He sings English, but is most comfortable singing in Spanish. We talk about how even though a lot of his fans are English speakers, they often have an emotional reaction to his music even though they don't know what he's saying. He expands on how emotions transfer via music no matter what language.in 1995, Alex was allowed to tour in Canada with his dad's band and met someone who would forever change his life, his future wife Sarah Goodacre. They eventually ended up married with children and living in Cuba. After awhile, they moved closer to her family in Smithers, B.C., where they have single handedly created a Latin music industry in the small Canadian mountain town. Despite not being able to work with major record labels due to the Cuban Embargo with America, Alex has thrived as an independent artist with 4 Latin Grammys, 3 American Grammy nominations, 2 Junos and numerous other accolades. We talk about what changes he experienced in himself while recording his latest album 'Mendó' during the pandemic. Alex, like many musicians, was forced to change plans and ended up working on the album at his house, while collaborating with other guest musicians remotely. We also talk about how he wanted the cover to reflect his African heritage. Brianna McCarthy, an artist from Trinidad and Tobago, illustrated the cover and Alex talks in depth about its meaning and importance. Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brands

In 2019, he completed two legs of his headlining tour, marked as one of Canada’s most extensive tours, selling out venues and reaching nationwide status. The Canadian Press crowned him "The New King of Canadian Country." The accolades continued in 2020, when Brett was the big winner of the CCMA Awards, earning four trophies, including Fans' Choice, Male of the Year, and Album of the Year. Stephanie Dorthea Mills[9][10] (born March 22, 1957)[1][11] is an American Grammy award–winning singer, songwriter and Broadway stage actress. Mills rose to stardom as "Dorothy" in the original Broadway run of the musical The Wiz from 1975 to 1977. The song "Home" from the show later became a Number 1 U.S. R&B hit for Mills and her signature song. During the 1980s, Mills scored five Number 1 R&B hits, including "Home", "I Have Learned to Respect the Power of Love", "I Feel Good All Over", "(You're Puttin') A Rush on Me" and "Something in the Way (You Make Me Feel)". Mills' won a Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for her song "Never Knew Love Like This Before" in 1981. The Wiz (1975) and later success[edit]Mills's career took a rise when she portrayed Dorothy in the Broadway musical The Wiz, an African-American adaptation of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Her song "Home" from the show would become her signature tune for years, and would be covered later by Diana Ross for the movie adaptation three years later. Commercial success in the music industry remained elusive until 1979, when she signed to the 20th Century Fox Records label. There, Mills found her niche in mainly disco music, recording songs such as "Put Your Body In It", "You Can Get Over", and "What Cha' Gonna Do With My Lovin'". The resulting album, What Cha' Gonna Do with My Lovin', was Mills's first gold record and the first major hit for the James Mtume-Reggie Lucas production team. She quickly followed the success with 1980's Sweet Sensation, which featured Mills's hit "Never Knew Love Like This Before". The single became a #12 R&B and #6 Pop hit in 1980, as well as reaching #4 in the UK Singles Chart.[13] 1981's Stephanie featured a top hit for her and Teddy Pendergrass entitled "Two Hearts", while her 1983 album, Merciless, featured her hit cover of Prince's "How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore?", as well as the #3 dance chart hit "Pilot Error", which was her first dance hit in the U.S. In 1984, Mills had her third UK hit with "The Medicine Song" (#29),[13] which also reached #1 on the U.S. dance chart and #8 on the R&B chart. On May 24, 1984, Mills returned to theater to star in a short-lived touring revival of The Wiz. The production closed on June 3, after 13 performances and 7 previews.[citation needed] In 1985, Mills's recording of "Bit by Bit (Theme from Fletch)" was featured in the Chevy Chase film, Fletch, and reached #52 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart and #78 on The Billboard Hot 100.[14]Success for Mills had peaked until 1986, when her version of the Angela Winbush-penned "I Have Learned to Respect the Power of Love", hit #1 on the R&B singles chart. Mills truly returned, however, with her next release, If I Were Your Woman in 1987 under MCA Records, which she was now signed. The hits from the album include the title track, originally a hit for Gladys Knight & the Pips in 1971; a three-week #1 R&B hit, "I Feel Good All Over" (a song her label mate Patti LaBelle did not wish to cover); and "You're Puttin' a Rush on Me", to name a few of the songs released. The album reached platinum status. That same year, she appeared in the NBC TV special, Motown: Merry Christmas along with other musical artists and actors, performing the song, "Christmas Everyday", which was written by actor/comedian Redd Foxx. Mills's success continued with 1989's Home album. The hits from that album include "The Comfort of a Man", the title track, a cover of her old standard from The Wiz and another song penned by Winbush titled "Something in the Way You Make Me Feel". It became another platinum record for Mills. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
