The question “why” does not offend God. We can be honest with Him, feel deeply, and still trust Him at the same time. The Gospel is not our defense from pain; it is our rescue through pain. Psalm 139 points us to the presence of God, and Psalm 23 reminds us that Jesus is the Good Shepherd. If you remove the Shepherd from Psalm 23, all that is left is us trying to carry everything alone.
