Every relationship has its highs and lows, but we often don't know what to do with our "lows," or how we ended up there. What is creating friction, exacerbating our pain, and standing in the way of intimacy? With more than seventy years of therapeutic experience combined, Dan Allender will demonstrate how God is inviting you and your spouse to a wild faith journey with the hope of transformation. Marriage is not about merely getting along or resolving conflict through compromise. It reveals who you are and invites you to who you can become. Marriage offers a space for you to experience what you are made for--honor and delight. And it is the ground from which redemption is meant to grow, where, together, you can reflect God's image more and experience a taste of heaven. Jason Gregor and Frank Seravalli are back with a fresh episode of The DFO Rundown as they went around the league and talked about some of the big stories that have developed over the last week. They started things off by talking about the Pittsburgh Penguins' decision to place veteran goalie Tristan Jarry on waivers. He's just a few years removed from signing a long-term extension with the club and while he hasn't performed up to that contract this season, both Frank and Jason took issue with the Penguins using him as a scapegoat. That led to a bigger-picture conversation about what Dubas has done since taking over as General Manager. From one of the worst stories in the league to one of the best, the guys then looked at the Columbus Blue Jackets, who are currently in a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Kirill Marchenko and Zach Werenski have both been spectacular and the team is playing unreal hockey. Can they hold onto this playoff spot?Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about where John Klingberg could potentially sign, the Chicago Blackhawks deadline plans, and whether or not Kyle Dubas will be around when the Penguins finally get back to the playoffs, whenever that might be.To wrap things up, they talked about Connor Hellebuyck running away with the Vezina Trophy and how much pressure the Winnipeg Jets are facing this year to go on a deep playoff run.1:10 - Penguins waive Jarry15:30 - Blue Jackets keep rolling24:00 - Buy or Sell (Klingberg, Hawks deadline plans, Dubas' future)42:10 - Hellebuyck & the Jets47:00 - Frustration in TorontoWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? Order James Beasley's book "DEEP ROOTED" here: https://jamesbeasleyent.com James Beasley, Jr. describes himself as a third generation criminal, whose notorious family roots in Bayview-Hunters Point go back to the early days of Black migration to San Francisco. His father, great uncles and cousins built their reputation through labor racketeering, heroin dealing, and pimping, but James took advantage of the cocaine boom in the 70s and 80s. He soon became the drug kingpin of San Francisco, associating with Darryl "Lil D" Reed in Oakland and players like Big Dave and Harry-O in Los Angeles. After making millions of dollars, his run came to an end when he became the youngest person charged with tax evasion in United States history and ended up doing 27 years in federal prison. Now that he has been released and transitioned into legitimate business, James is here to tell his story as a cautionary tale to guide other black and brown youth away from the life of crime. -- For promo opportunities on the podcast, e-mail: info@historyofthebay.com -- History of the Bay Spotify Playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3ZUM4rCv6xfNbvB4r8TVWU?si=9218659b5f4b43aa Online Store: https://dregsone.myshopify.com Follow Dregs One: Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/1UNuCcJlRb8ImMc5haZHXF?si=poJT0BYUS-qCfpEzAX7mlA Instagram: https://instagram.com/dregs_one TikTok: https://tiktok.com/@dregs_one Twitter: https://twitter.com/dregs_one Facebook: https://facebook.com/dregsone415 00:00 Introduction 03:06 Crime families in San Francisco 06:22 Bayview-Hunters Point in the 60s-70s 11:02 Getting in trouble in high school 16:04 Following his dad into the dope game 24:59 C*caine hits the hood 28:26 Competing with the A Team 31:56 Gangster mentality in the family 37:18 Starting the B Team 42:02 Lil D 46:33 Crips & Bloods in the Bay? 50:39 Cars as a status symbol 54:44 Colombian connection 59:39 Felix Mitchell 1:00:43 Shrimp Boy & Chinatown connection 1:04:55 Ron Newt & Michael Jackson 1:07:55 Investing in legal businesses 1:11:08 Tax evasion case 1:16:07 Federal prison 1:20:37 Turf violence in Hunters Point 1:25:09 Advice to the youth 1:33:22 Harry-O and Death Row 1:41:23 Freeway Rick Ross

It was there that Blake Moulton learned to duck hunt from his father, who was simply passing along the same torch handed him by predecessors. In some ways, things have changed. In other ways they never will. Beneath a sprawling live oak that's shaded Moulton's family for 5 generations, he talks about growing up, the local community, family traditions, and the people that inspired him to be his best at duck hunting and in life. Welcome back, Heal Squad! In part 2 of my conversation with Dr. Sara Szal, we dive deeper into the underlying hormone that could be the culprit to so many things we struggle with from depression and mental health to the onset of autoimmune diseases. She shares ways you can manage and lower cortisol before it causes the onset of autoimmune conditions and the importance of personalized medicine—it's not a one-size-fits-all approach! PLUS we explore how autoimmune diseases can actually go into remission with lifestyle changes, an elimination diet, and even psychedelic-assisted therapies like MDMA for deep-rooted trauma healing. Dr. Szal gets real about the impact of “big T” and “little t” traumas, explaining how they live in our bodies and contribute to illness. You're going to want to take notes on this one, friends! HEALERS AND HEAL-LINERS: Test, don't guess. It's important to get your cortisol levels under control before they dip too low, leading to the potential onset of autoimmune diseases. She recommends a “test, don't guess” approach using the Dutch test, which looks at five different cortisol levels throughout the day. Signs of lower cortisol levels: Fatigue, Low blood pressure, Low mood, Fainting, Loss of appetite These micronutrients can make a huge impact on your cortisol and stress levels: Vitamin C, B6, and Magnesium. Dr. Szal shares how autoimmune diseases can go into remission through personalized approaches like elimination diets, managing leaky gut, and trauma therapies. She mentions her success in reversing autoimmune markers like antinuclear antibodies (ANA). Psychedelic-assisted therapy can be a major resolution for deep-rooted trauma. Dr. Szal explains that using MDMA-assisted therapy to resolve trauma can help resolve long-lasting effects on both mental and physical health. This approach helps in reconstructing one's narrative and reducing fear responses tied to trauma. (Please note this method is not FDA approved.) For over a century, Montana has seen more than 100+ sightings of an underwater mystery. Of course, there are the skeptics who believe it's all one hoax or, at the very least, a misidentification. Others believe that this tale is one of prehistoric nature. Today's special guest, Rae Leonard, is an author, intuitive guide and coach. Her latest book is titled, High Sobriety: A trip out of the bottle into your intuition. As a Transformationalist, Rae draws on her expertise in Jivamukti Yoga, VortexHealing®, performing arts, Conscious Language, and master cleansing to help people who are ready for Post Traumatic Growth. She assists in dissipating subconscious triggers to allow people to become the frequency of their designs. One of her guiding principles is, “Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. This is not philosophy. It is physics.” - Albert Einstein Rae grew up a latchkey kid in New York's East Village during the seventies. Tiring of the downtown performance scene, she became a wife, mother, and yoga teacher in the Hudson Valley. Her strategy for escaping the grimd of nuclear family life was to use the Law of Attraction to get heroin to feed her addiction. She returned to the entertainment industry, where she honed roles playing ‘crack whores' such as in the film Detachment, where she played Adrian Brody's tormented, addicted mother in flashbacks. While on film sets she realized she enjoyed using her intuition to help crew members through their issues more than she liked film acting. Eventually hitting rock bottom with her addictions, a transformation was ignited. After dropping the lure of drugs and alcohol in her own life, Rae started coaching people, combining her innate gifts with a frequency device called Healy that helped her make quantum leaps. Healy technology is an effortless way to communicate to the information field, to change one's deep rooted patterns and quickly transform your life.

Join me as I engage with the insightful Michele Olender, a coach and fellow vegan podcaster, on the pursuit of conscious living. Our discussion illuminates the significance of embracing our moments of cluelessness while striving for greater awareness in our everyday lives. We compare this journey to a sailor's voyage, emphasizing the need for continual course corrections and the wisdom in seeking guidance when lost. Together, we reflect on the valuable teachings from personal relationships and the continuous reevaluation of the precedents we set in our lives, a theme that resounds through our shared narratives. Listen in as we unravel the intimate story of Michele's transition to veganism, inspired by her daughter's choice to adopt a plant-based diet. This chapter of her life not only transformed my culinary habits but also propelled her into podcasting. We examine the multifaceted motivations behind choosing veganism, from health benefits to environmental sustainability and animal rights, underscoring the importance of permitting ourselves to ponder our dietary decisions and their broader implications. The conversation also ventures into the nuanced dynamics of relationships affected by the switch to veganism and how these changes can sometimes be misinterpreted as judgment by loved ones. This can be a HUGE barrier for folks exploring veganism. What if your family doesn't support you? Michele shares insights on coexisting with non-vegan family members and balancing personal values with acceptance of others' choices. For those navigating their vegan journey, especially older women in caretaker roles, Michele provides encouragement and advice on embracing this lifestyle transition. You don't have to be a certain age to go vegan, it's never too late! Thanks for listening to another episode. Follow, review, and share to help Consciously Clueless grow! Work with me. Your Hope-Filled Perspective with Dr. Michelle Bengtson podcast
Episode Summary: The world has thrown a lot at us the last few years. Between the pandemic, economy, and war around the world, many are shaken, worried, or scared. But Christians don't have to succumb to these same feelings. When the pandemic first hit, people around the world were rocked. That's when I had to choose to reflect on what I know to be true about Him. These truths change everything for believers. Join me with Kathy Howard for how to keep trusting God in difficult times. Quotables from the episode: God is all-powerful and in control. Nothing surprises Him and nothing has entered their lives that He did not allow. God sees you. God cares about every detail of your lives. God is working even if you don't see it. And in the meantime, God is always present with you. Spend even just 5 minutes brainstorming the implications of one truth about God. For instance, if God is all-powerful, what does that mean for your life? For your family? For the world? The author of the Bible is the only author who sits with us when we read his book! To keep trusting God in difficult times, we have to know God. We get to know him by being in his word. The Bible is not primarily about us—it's about God, and understanding who He is. Difficulties remind us of our need for God. Fiery trials refine our faith. Scripture References: Psalm 1:1-3 ESV Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. Jeremiah 32:17 NIV Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you. This episode was a breakthrough for both of us. We wanted to walk through how a discussion of discovering one another's love languages looks like, and while doing so how we both realized even during the earliest stages of our relationship, (aside from being young) we really didn't know or truly understand the importance of love language and what it means to truly tune into those factors of each other as partners. Misunderstanding the love languages of each other tested our relationship plenty of times because of this lack of discovered knowledge, and understanding it for what it really is, and the importance of what love language really means to us. Listen in on how this conversation opened new avenues and expanded upon our ways of thinking by being honest with each other, both learning, discovering, and uncovering a new layer in our relationship amongst learning and discovering each other's love language! In this podcast episode, we explore the profound essence of generosity as a divine calling and responsibility bestowed upon us as Christians. We are reminded that true generosity goes beyond financial contributions, encompassing acts of kindness, empathy, and wisdom. Strategic giving, receiving graciously, and cultivating gratitude are discussed as vital aspects of generosity. The concept of utilitarian generosity is challenged, emphasizing the need to focus on the outcome of giving rather than expectations. Ultimately, we are encouraged to trust in God, seeking to glorify Him through our generosity, as exemplified by the lesson found in Matthew 26:6. Today's guest is Chase Chewning. Chase is an Army Veteran, he's a health coach and the host of the wildly popular podcast, Ever Forward Radio. Before going from health coach to podcaster, Chase served in the military and after six years of active duty, he was medically discharged due a string of injuries that ultimately required him to have bilateral reconstructive hip surgeries. After learning how to walk again, exercise as medicine, making healthy lifestyle modifications and helping others do the same became his passion. In today's conversation, we dive deep into Chase's story and chat about how the loss of his father during his time in the Army led to a path of self-sabotage, causing emotional pain and physical injuries that ultimately forced him to retire from the military. We also discuss how he transformed his mental health and dealt with his suppressed, deep-rooted trauma. Chase also opens up about his struggles with male friendships and the recent discovery of his true self.
