Welcome to Bikin' Bits - a bit about bikin' - so you don't have to look forever to find the trails you want to ride. Where we tell you the loops to ride, the loopdy-loops to ride, the uphills, the downhills.Where we summarize the trails, so you know exactly where you want to go, how long you want to spend, how much elevation you want to gain and how much descent you want to fly down. And of course there'll be a brewery recommendation or two at the end.Hot Springs, Arkansas and Northwoods TrailsThe Northwoods Trail System is around 3 miles outside of Hot Springs, and is very well maintained and marked, making for fun, flowy rides. With two main sections that connect well together, there are trails for beginners to experts, and all of them are worthy of your time. Here's the Ride! For this ride, we only had a limited time, and we wanted to check out the green trails (and a few blue) to explore what they had to offer. While they are green trails, they were still a lot of fun, making them a great ride with a group of friends with varying levels.Stats: 4 miles, 200 feet of elevation gain, about 40 minutes - perfect for a quick lunch time or afternoon ride, to at least claim some movement before you grab a beer!Start at Waterworks Trailhead at Bee's Knees to Dewdropper. Climb back up Dewdropper to hit Sidecar (a bit of a climb but not punchy) to take you to your choice of going down Cat's Meow or Yaupon Yop.Yaupon Yop is a 1/2 mile down green trail that's fast and flowy with some roller coasty action without any gaps or tables.Cat's Meow is a 1/2 mile down only blue trail allowing you to tear it up for with roller coaster vibes, berms, and intermediate jumps - but can skirt around the jumps - All fun, flowy, awesome! Those two runs join together at an intersection where we went on Freeman (for a short distance) to Sanderson Pass (transitional trails) to your choice of either Funguy (green) or Rockhound (blue). They both meet back down at the bottom together.Funguy is green and just over 1/2 mile but fun, flowy and fast.Rockhound is blue and a mile in length and gets you climbing right out of the gate. You'll ride along a ridgline overlooking the lake and the last 1/3 you can open up into downhill with flowy action along with a couple of switchbacks and a few almost techy rock sections. The last part is Bearcat Pass, a gravel forest road bringing you back to the parking lot where you can even wash your bike. Check out northwoodstrails.org for all the details. And of course, you can find this ride and many more on Trailforks. Here's the Beer!Where to drink the beer after biking here? Superior Bathhouse Brewery!Just three miles back into town, you'll hit up Superior, the only brewery in a national park that also happens to brew with the hot springs potable water. Beer, food, bikes, and patio seating! What more can you ask for?Check out Superior Bathhouse Brewery's unique story here.Check out all of the Bikin' Bits podcasts episodes here.Connect With Us:The Craft Beer Travel & Adventure Podcast is hosted by Living a Stout Life, where we share stories, community, and resources for all your craft beer travel and adventure lifestyle needs. We would absolutely love it if you subscribe to the podcast and leave us a review. Dad couldn't find that Rose so he brought a can of Underwood Brut Rose'. Marie couldn't find it either so she has Le Grand Noir Brut Sparkling Rose' for her wine. For Josh's food he has thick sliced oven roasted turkey from the deli; layered cheese leek organon; fruit cup size sausage dressing. He also had fresh cranberries cooked down with white and brown sugar, orange peel and whole orange juice, with a splash of balsamic vinegar. Josh had a strawberry cream cheese cake in honor of his upcoming birthday paired with a straight pour of Probitas blended White Rum from Barbados.  Dad has for his food; stove top stuffing enhanced with special herbs; whole cranberry sauce with walnuts and orange peal; he also has a smoked sweet potato with a maple syrup compound butter. For his wine he brings Decoy 2021 Merlot. Marie had the Decoy 2019 Merlot. Josh couldn't find it so he had a 2014 Sent DeYoung Gran Cru from LaGrande instead. Dad's desert was an Juicy Apple Bourbon cocktail paired with an caramel apple blossom.Marie's wine is Imagery's Cabernet Sauvignon. Dad couldn't find this wine either so he bought a four pack of Sutter Home Cabernet Sauvignon. Josh couldn't either so he has Chateau de Grandeur French red.  Marie's food consisted of; frozen cranberries cooked down with sugar with orange and lemon zest; traditional sage stove top dressing; sweet potato with home grown rosemary thyme and sage. This one is a hoot! We go to Hot Springs National Park Arkansas for an overnight adventure soaking in hot springs, enjoying nature, and enjoying our friends' company! This weekend adventure flew us into Dallas with a road trip to Hot Springs, Arkansas. The only place in the country where the town, and everything in it, IS the national park! We may have only been in Arkansas for 24 hours, but as always, we covered a lot of ground! And got to spend time with Kasha & Ryan, two friends we made on our trip to China! (see episodes 3 and 12 for more about that trip!) We thought our trip in November was the best time to visit Hot Springs National Park because it was cool enough to need a jacket, but not be cold which made the morning hike amazing because you could see the steam rising from the hot springs in the ground all around the area. It was a very cool sight to see. Things to do in Hot Springs National Park Bathhouse Row! Kandi Rose thought she had it made as the owner of a highly profitable business in the "adult entertainment" arena. Well, it was profitable financially, but it left her spiritually destitute, often wondering "is this all there really is?" even at the height of her monetary success. Not to mention having an erratic lifestyle and severe anger from childhood trauma which provided an overtly hostile environment at home. Something had to give, and Kandi was out of options. At the urging of her mother who had been praying for her for several years, Kandi finally surrendered to God and became a witness to His grace for all who would listen (and probably a few who wouldn't ;). It wasn't easy, and Kandi certainly didn't get everything right the first time, but she has persevered by the grace of God to be a shining light for others to seek to do more for God. In this episode, you'll learn: -Kandi's childhood, and beginning the business of prostitution and stripping...05:00 -Spiritual blindness convinced Kandi that grotesque behavior was good...14:23 -Stretched to the absolute limit, Kandi surrenders her life to Jesus...18:42 -First steps after becoming a believer in Jesus...24:30 -Sharing the gospel through principled entrepreneurship...29:15 -Witnessing to an addict, and seeing fruit after many years of apparent failure...33:12 -Beginning Recovery Today TV...37:34 -What prevents believers from being "all in" in their work for the Lord...41:05 Resources mentioned: Recovery Today TV Guest's bio and social handles: Kandi Rose was a former stripper & prostitute who once owned a strip-o-gram business, Kandi Rose Productions with male & female dancers in the Chicago area. She advertised her commercial on TV, radio, billboard, and newspapers. She had multiple addictions until her mother led her to the Lord. 33 yrs. later now she produces and hosts a weekly television show called, Recovery Today w/Kandi Rose & Friends, that broadcast across the U.S. on several networks in millions of homes. Kandi along with her 2 co-hosts start the show by teaching from the two 12 step recovery workbooks Kandi wrote, then they feature addiction free testimonies. Evangelist Kandi Rose travels statewide filming and preaching in churches and recovery homes interviewing people that are addiction free by Christ. She puts these TV shows on podcast, Spotify, stitcher, google podcast & radio public and Anchor. Those TV shows are also converted to audio and are aired on radio. [09:00] Charlene's baptism by fire into becoming the Villainess of her new brand. [16:00] Charlene on the precipice with of re-opening Villainess in Summer '22 from the soul. [18:00] Owning it unapologetically and bringing it to a public in a way that's authentic to you that fuels your well-being. [18:50] Beware of the power of the darkside.   KEY TAKEAWAYS:  There is power in the darkness.  It takes guts to have guts to stand up to the world; why is that so shocking? Don't let someone else's opinion of you, your art, or your business halt creativity. Use it as fuel towards self - responsibility and owning what's true for you and why you are called towards it. The dark side can equip you as much as it can disarm you. Villainess is motto is redefining bad. Bathhouse Soapery & Caldarium, the proverbial saint of the podcast is introduced. Charlene discusses the beginning of her soap & cosmetic crafting at 19, over two decades ago, and how the art and science of the craft became the foundation for her heavenly scented empire. She created a personal religion around her art that has been her salvation for the past two decades in business and personal life. [07:00] Many have the story that they began making soap out of necessity for the skin and inability to use commercial soap. Charlene loves that aspect but that's not why she began making soap. [9:00] Soapmaking or art as your sanctuary.  [11:00] Recognizing your calling, vocation, or life's work. [12:00] Bringing your craft to commerce. Give it your all and enjoy the good and bad. Success seems to be instantaneous but if we had the ability to have what we want now, we don't get to enjoy the present journey of building.   RESOURCE LINKS  sinnersaintsoapmaker.com  BIO:  Being a mom at 15 and having three toddlers by 19,  Charlene found her own path of formal education by becoming a self-taught soap, cosmetic, and perfume formulator and retailer. This morning Pastor Brad starts a new series he calls Driven By Eternity with a sermon titled People Of Spirit. Pastor's Notes: TEXTMark 16:14-20 NKJV14 Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. 15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who [a]believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they[b] will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”19 So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.INTRODUCTIONGood morning, everybody!I’m so glad each and every one of you are here. This morning, we are going to start a brand new sermon series entitled “Driven By Eternity”.Over the next three weeks, we’ll be looking at the mission of the church and what we are called to. Last week, I preached about the necessity of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Today, I want to preach to you about “ People of The Spirit. BACKGROUNDIn our text, we see Jesus have a conversation with His disciples about the work they were to do. He accompanied that with soul willing, along with accompanying signs of supernatural power such as healing, deliverance, tongues, and casting out demons. All of these were to follow after the Holy Spirit would be poured out, which is what we learned about last week. Yet, verse 20 is what I wanted to lock in on. It says:“And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the Word through the accompanying signs. Amen”. These people went out and preached the Gospel, believed God, and saw the world turned upside down. The Book of Acts is actually a historical record of the formation and mission of the church. In Acts, you see this brand new church that was formed in Jerusalem. They had received the power of the Holy Spirit. They received opposition and persecution, but with God’s help, they pressed forward. Souls were being saved, disciples were being baptized, and corrupted culture was being challenged. (We should still be doing this today!). Acts records the very missionary journeys that the early Apostles did, spreading the Gospel to all of the known world at that time. TRANSITION Yet my friend, you and I have the same responsibility and are a part of the same mission: To share Jesus Christ and to warn  people about eternity. That’s what is truly great about our church. Let me take you on a journey. APPLICATION Our Past- Let’s look at our past. - Denomination believers heard about a prayer meeting in California. - Many went there and received the Baptism of the Spirit. - In this revival, people were awakened to eternity and the soon coming of Jesus. - Out of this revival formed many groups, but most notable is the one you’re a part of right now. In 1914, a group assembled in Hot Springs Arkansas to establish was we know is the Assemblies of God. - From there, a doctrinal statement was formed and a passion for missions. - Missionaries were sent all around the world with many going on faith, packing their belonging in coffins to be shipped overseas with no expectation of returning. - Churches all over the USA were planted through revivals, prayer meetings, and brush arbor services. - Such is how our church was started. In 1922, Gordon and Glen Miller came to Woodward to start a new work. In 1924, Woodward First Assembly of God was started. - Throughout the years, many pastors have served, many leaders have came out of our church such as pastors and missionaries, and many people have been saved, healed, and filled with the Holy Spirit. - Yet, He isn’t done. Our Present- Dear friends, God is doing something TODAY!- Times have progressed. Methodist have updated. Scenery has changed. Yet, our mission is the same: SOULS- Today, souls are being saved.- Today, people are being healed. - Today, marriages are being restored. - Today, the Holy Spirit is still filling people. - Today, we are still sending missionaries!- The mission is still the same: To exalt Jesus and to preach this full gospel message across the land!- Fun Fact: Did you know that our church sends out roughly $4,000 per month in missionary support to 42 different missionaries and missions outreaches? That's why we ask you to give. That’s why we need you to sacrifice! Our Future- While we honor the past, we live in the present. Yet while we live in the present, we plan for the future. - We will see more people saved.- More people healed. - We will raise up more leaders.- We will support more missionaries. CONCLUSION

In this Intel Report I will be discussing with you the criteria of PTSD and what you need to do right now to get squared away. [00:00:29] Hello everyone I'm your host Ben Williams veteran and advocate. [00:00:33] PTSD is the toughest enemy you'll ever face. This relentless adversary will destroy you from the inside out until it has taken you early in life. He is determined and relentless. But Operation Pathfinders mission is to be a part of the solution when it comes to helping you with PTSD. You will also hear from fellow veterans survivors professionals who have been there and understand. And each episode will provide you with Intel a purpose and of hope to keep you on the move. [00:01:04] Warriors understanding the various weapons and tactics used by PTSD is essential in developing a plan to push forward and winning these individual battles within he does not utilize just one weapon. He utilizes an arsenal of weapons and tactics to defeat you and to beat you down every single day. And knowing these tactics and weapons will provide you a better blueprint for a counterattack. [00:01:30] It is essential to coordinate with your physicians to determine these solution and the situation. Many of the physical symptoms are often confused with PTSD tactics. So determining the enemy you are dealing with is the fundamental key to success. Rushing into any fight without knowing your opponent is step one to failure. Your doctor will perform an evaluation by obtaining the necessary Intel your current situation is a key component for success. Most likely your doctor will conduct a physical to determine if there could be other elements attacking you other than PTSD. Once the physical elements have been evaluated and warrants no further research doing psychological evaluation would be the necessary next step. This process involves a discussion revolving around your signs and symptoms. [00:02:31] The enemy is very clear when formulating a strategy. It is important to know what exposures you've endured. Direct experience with traumatic events. Personally witnessing a traumatic event or contact or exposure of a traumatic event. Those are the key indicators that you may be dealing with PTSD. Your physician will use the criteria in the diagnostic says testicle Manual of Mental Disorders otherwise known as the DSM 5 published by the American Psychiatric Association. All of the conditions included in this classification require exposure to a traumatic event or a stressful event as a diagnostic criterion. These criteria must be met for a PTSD diagnosis. [00:03:26] Criterion A is a stressor and one of these a required. "The person who exposed who was exposed to death threatened death actual or threatened serious injury or actual or threatened sexual violence in the following ways either by direct exposure witnessing to trauma learning that a relative or close friend was exposed to trauma and indirect exposure to adverse details of the trauma" Usually in the course of professional duties such as their first responder or medics. [00:04:04] The next criteria, criterion B is intrusive symptoms and one or these is also required. The traumatic event is persistently re-experienced in the following ways: 1) Unwanted upsetting memories; 2) Nightmares flashbacks emotional distress after exposure to traumatic reminders; 3) Physical reactivity after exposure to the traumatic reminders. [00:04:31] Criterion C is avoidance and also one of these is required. Avoidance of trauma related stimuli after the trauma, in the following ways: 1) Trauma related thoughts or feelings or 2) Trauma related external reminders. [00:04:50] Criterion D - Negative alteration in cognition and mood. Two of these are required. Negative thoughts or feelings that began or worsened after the trauma. In the following ways: 1) Inability to recall key features of the trauma overly negative thoughts or 2) Assumptions about one's self or the world or 3) exaggerated blame of self and others for causing the trauma or 4) Negative effect decreased interest in activities feeling isolated and difficulty experiencing positive effect. [00:05:33] Criterion E is alteration in arousal and reactivity. Trauma related arousal and reactivity that began or worsen after the trauma, in the following ways: 1) Irritability or aggression; 2) Risky or destructive behavior; 3) Hypervigilance; 4) Heighten startled reaction 5) difficulty concentrating; 6) Difficulty sleeping. [00:06:05] Criterion F is duration and again this is required symptoms that last more than a month. [00:06:13] Criterion G is functional significance and this is also required. Symptoms create distress or functional impairment such as social interaction or occupational. [00:06:28] Criterion H is exclusion and this is also required. Symptoms are not due to medication substance use or other illnesses. Two specifications disassociated of specification. In addition to meeting criteria for diagnosis and individual's experiences high level of either the following in reaction to a trauma related stimuli; that is depersonalization - experience of being an outside observer of or detached from oneself - such as feelings of as if this is not happening to me or maybe a dream. Deep realization the experience of unreality distance or distortion. An example would be things are not real. Delays specification full diagnostic criteria are not met until at least six months after the trauma or traumas although onset of symptoms may occur immediately. [00:07:42] Now this is an internal report to let you know what the diagnosis requirements are for PTSD. As I stated before folks the first step is to contact your family physician or doctor. Whoever it is that you go see on a regular basis for your physicals and flus and coughs and everything else. Make an appointment see them first. Explain your concerns understand that they need to do these physicals first. This is the requirement a prerequisite. They do this first. Then if they ruled out that there's something else that could be the cause they will start with the psychological evaluations and then DSM 5. Trust your doctor. If you're not happy get a second and third fourth opinion whatever but start by getting in and seeing the doctor. And as the fundamental first step folks go go see a doctor please. My main purpose of this intel report is to get you to know the groundwork and what your next steps should be in identifying as well as understanding what you may be up against. I cannot emphasize this enough folks. You need to start building a team around you and develop a lasting trust. That is the ultimate key to a successful battle. Stay determined. Do not let anyone or anything try to bring you down. This is a fight for your life and I promise you your feelings of hopelessness fear and numbness. [00:09:39] That is the enemy talking to you. That is PTSD and he has no qualms beating you down. This is the fog of war. You need to get pissed off because every day he disrespects you. He brings you down he spits on you. Who the hell does he think he is. Fight for Your Life. Fight for your family. Fight for your friends. You need to have no regrets and get results to get after it. [00:10:12] Before I wrap up this episode I want to honor a veteran who wrote a blank check in defense of our great nation and paid the ultimate sacrifice. He was a U.S. Marine with force recon and he served during the Vietnam War and during the Tet Offensive. He was taken prisoner and lost his life due to elements that he that he received while being held captive as a prisoner of war. And after a long prison stint during a prison transfer he succumbed to those illnesses and died. His body is buried somewhere in Vietnam but his memory and spirit will live forever on the Vietnam War Memorial. He is family and he is chief warrant officer Solomon Godwin of Hot Springs Arkansas.
