Now it's only using 6%.It's come after a process of painful economic reforms – supported by the IMF and World Bank – which culminated in it having $4.5 billion worth of debts written off last week. For Africa Daily, Mpho Lakaje speaks to Dr Hodan Osman, Senior Advisor & National Coordinator of Human Capital Development, in the Office of the Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, and to Laura Jaramillo, who led the IMF teams in talks with the Somali government.

The more things change, the more they remain the same. French writer Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr coined the phrase French writer Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr coined the term. Karr was born in Paris to German pianist and composer Henri Karr (1784–1842), and after being educated at the Collège Bourbon, he became a teacher there. Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr was a French critic, journalist, and novelist. This statement has come to define and bring to the fore our understanding of the concept of time and change. Permanency has come to be seen via the lens of change, and somehow a good number of us now embrace it with a degree of optimism and positioning ourselves strategically for that next life-transforming move that we somehow know will come on the premise of change, which is the only constant that defines our existence. Moving from one place to another is an aspect of human existence that cannot be pushed aside; instead, adequate mental preparation is necessary to deal with the expectations that will undeniably come with it. So transiting from place to place, from one job to another, is a given, but often so many people are not prepared for it, and this unpreparedness affects their mental health. So the question now is, how should one prepare for transitions, knowing that it is inevitable, it will indeed happen? This is what we will talk about on the show today. I will discuss this with Nike Kerstin Akerele-De Souza, Social Entrepreneur/Social Impact/Human Capital & Strategic Business Advisor with over 30 plus years in the Human Capital Development space. She is an accomplished Executive (Human Capital/Social Impact/Strategic Business Advisor & Social Entrepreneur) with global exposure to a variety of industries to senior Board level, including the Private, Consulting, and Non-Profit sectors, with experience encompassing strategic & business planning, business development, auditing & compliance, risk management, accounting & financial management, human capital development, and program design & management. Her specialism in the Non-Profit/Social Impact sector also includes the development of concept notes, impact planning, theories of change/log frames, work plan development, project planning & management, monitoring and evaluation/evidence gathering, client/partnership management, including public/private collaborations (PPPs). Her passion for human capital development prompted my interest in education, youth development, and economic livelihoods as avenues for assisting populations out of poverty. This led to her decision to pivot my career to the Social Impact sector, where I have established various initiatives. She enjoys supporting start-ups and scaling social investment interventions, especially those that enhance opportunities for marginalized and under-served communities and address existing inequalities in society. I am also passionate about supporting young people through education, employment, and entrepreneurship. She is an advocate for achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 1, 4, 5, and 8.Support the show

In order to truly have the life you want; the career, house, family, relationships, car, lifestyle, wealth, freedom, you name it….you must learn what success is and where it comes from, starting with how you think. Welcome to The Go Reflect Yourself Podcast where we provide 60-second brain-based strategies for your success; in all key areas of your life, including wealth, health, business, relationships, etc.  Go Reflect Yourself was created after years, of being a corporate employee as well as an independent business owner.  Throughout all of those years, I learned that no matter what level of success people had achieved, and specifically financial success, typically they were still missing something, missing true joy, well-being, and fulfillment. I’ve spent a career helping business owners, leaders and entrepreneurs learn the skills needed to discover their inner brilliance, and that’s how Go Reflect Yourself was born…and my goal is to help as many as possible learn the necessary skills to achieve ultimate fulfillment and wellbeing. Today I have with me, Pete Hinojosa- who focuses on developing human capital and growth potential. Originally a science teacher, Pete realized that if you focus on the individual and help them bring out their best, then great things can happen.   As the Director of Human Capital Development at Insperity, and as the creator of Quest Leadership dynamics, Pete has spent his entire career developing people.  He integrates the DISC model into his leadership training and he also has a mission to equip servant leaders of each generation to be a positive influence in the community. You’ll have fun on this journey as Pete shares his story and his passion for helping others! A few key takeaways from this talk: Leadership tools to unlock your full potential at work and in life. Questions to ask to best connect with others. How to understand the DISC profile and why this can impact your connection. Why stories are valuable. How to teach with influence. Different ways people learn and how knowing this can aid your communication. Why being a servant leader is valuable. You’ll have fun on this journey as Pete shares his story and his passion for helping others! Tune in and as you watch or listen to this special episode.  Pause every 5-10 minutes and mindfully reflect on what you just heard.  Write down your thoughts, then yawn and stretch before proceeding. “We saw that women didn’t have the confidence to step up, so we were determined to change that for #GenerationEquality so that women of the future and women today have a better shot at being in senior levels roles.” - Denise D’Agostini On March 8th, LiveGirl celebrated International Women's Day (IWD) with the theme: “Generation Equality: Realizing women’s rights for an equal future.” For this year's celebration, Sheri and Olivia sit down with Denise D’Agostini, Co-Founder of Her New Standard, and her daughter, Lauren to talk about the importance of challenging gender norms and empowering each other.  IWD is important because despite some progress, real change has been agonizingly slow for the majority of women and girls in the world. Today, not a single country can claim to have achieved gender equality. Multiple obstacles remain unchanged in law and in culture. And women and girls continue to be undervalued. Check out our conversation where Denise and Lauren share about the inspiration behind Her New Standard, the “playbook” for #nextgen leaders and the top things holding women and teens back.  Lauren is a 16-year-old high schooler, who attends Somers New York High School. Denise has 25 years of experience in Pharma, which includes serving as the Head of HR for both Bayer HealthCare and Ciba Specialty Chemicals. She later co-founded Her New Standard in 2013, stemming from her passion in developing women leaders & igniting confidence so that each individual reaches their greatest potential. Denise’s clients range from Fortune 500 to start-ups. Along with serving as HR Leader and Executive Coach at Her New Standard, Denise is ALSO an adjunct instructor at Cornell University, the ILR School of Human Capital Development.  Join #GenerationEquality. Be the first, the youngest, the best, and make sure no one is left behind. The future we create for women and girls up to all of us.
