"The Having Said That Show" blends the raw energy of podcasts with the visual flair of talk shows, hosted by dynamic duo Adi (Aditya Lodha) and Jeh (Jehangir Havaldar). Adi, a musician lauded by Rolling Stone India and GQ India, brings his creative vision as the show’s founder, while Jeh, a certified fitness and nutrition expert, adds his sharp wit and humor. Joined by social media creator Aryana Dalal and food-obsessed film grad Aman, the crew dives into Mumbai’s cultural quirks, pitting Old SoBo nostalgia against New Gen trends. From debating Irani café royalty (Kyani vs. Britannia vs. Stadium) and bakery wars (Yazdani’s mawa cakes vs. Le15’s gourmet treats) to dissecting clubbing eras (Athena for 90s kids vs. antiSocial for millennials), the show packs chaos, humor, and nostalgia. Throw in tongue-twister mayhem—Jeh’s खड़क सिंह, Aryana’s पका पपीता, Aman’s कच्चा पापड़, and Adi’s लाली लल्लू—plus iPhone charades and spicy debates, and you’ve got a rollercoaster of laughs and relatable chaos. Whether you’re a die-hard SoBo townie or a self-proclaimed fraud, this hybrid show is your fix for Mumbai’s quirks, food, and unfiltered banter. Don’t miss the mix of heritage charm, Gen-Z vibes, and Adi’s post-NH7 Bacardi festival energy!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Absurdist new comedy digital series DAY PLAYERS following the delusional world of struggling actors made its highly anticipated world premiere on Image Killer's YouTube channel on February 7th, 2025 Created by Reelworld Film Festival Trailblazer Award winner Farid Yazdani (MOONSHINE/SUITS), directed by Aref Mahabadi (BECAUSE ONE DAY), and written by Chris D'Alessandro, DAY PLAYERS is a six-episode absurdist comedy that dives headfirst into the chaotic, delusional, and hilariously awkward world of struggling actors. Each episode centers around a different acting class assignment, from cringe-worthy studies of the “world's greatest Canadian actor” to producing an unwatchable short film, and even a case of murder through what can only be described as “criminal negligence.” The series delivers laughs for anyone who has ever stepped into an acting class and secretly wondered if they should have stayed in business school. The stellar cast includes Farid Yazdani, Patrick McKenna (THE RED GREEN SHOW), Brock Morgan (THE GOOD DOCTOR, WORKIN' MOMS), two-time Juno Award nominee Alex Bird, Nicolette Pearse (TRANSPLANT, KIM'S CONVENIENCE), Canadian Screen Awards winner Aisha Evelyna (THE DROP, SLO PITCH), and Canadian Screen Awards nominee Ashley Leggat (LIFE WITH DEREK). Also los geht's…

Also los geht's…

Jami is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with more than 17 years of experience managing a portfolio of innovative projects and planning initiatives. She has a proven track record of leading diverse and collaborative teams and excels at facilitating consensus and keeping (even reluctant) teams on track. Jami also has extensive experience designing and delivering engaging face-to-face and online training sessions and facilitating meetings and programs.Over a diverse career spanning roles in business, libraries, and public higher education, including over a decade in leadership (Director) and management positions, Jami effectively led teams, championed change, and empowered staff. Jami has also volunteered and actively served on the boards of nonprofits and professional associations, working in leadership (Chair and Vice-Chair), marketing, programming, and mentoring functions. Jami brings practical experience, management expertise, a love of spreadsheets, and a sense of humor to project management, planning, and training. Key Takeaways:One of the many overlooked aspects of project management is designing team communication. Communicate the scope and the desired outcome of the project clearly and establish a way for team members and stakeholders to be in communication all along the creation of the project. The fear of rejection is something that a lot of project managers struggle with. The fact is that when you face rejection, it's not you that you're rejecting but your plan or aspects of it - it may not seem like it, but they want you to be able to create the best plan that you can. Take the time to breathe and celebrate accomplishments and each milestone within a project. Make time to be grateful to each team member and highlight the great things that happened. Don't abruptly move on to the next thing. Do a retrospective at the end of a project, and take note of the best practices. Be proactive instead of reactive, and keep yourself at a sustainable and effective pace. Don't overburden yourself, remember to reflect on what's important. “Being intentional about communication is one of the ways to get people together. I think that's an overlooked piece of managing people and projects.” “Your role as a project manager is not to write the best plan, it is to get to the best outcomes. ” “The effort that you put into planning, often other people just aren't going to recognize it. But they will recognize the good outcomes, they will recognize that you're facilitating collaboration and feedback.” - Jami Yazdani Reach out to Jami Yazdani at:Website: https://yazdaniconsulting.com/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jamibryanyazdani/ Ask for and receive all you want need and deserve without feeling rejected, ineffective, or pushy. This week on The Exit: Born in Tehran, Iran, Bobby Yazdani left the country at age 16 during the Iranian Revolution. Jumping forward, Bobby graduated from Berkeley and started work at Oracle. Back then you had to log into the internet and the concept of internet cookies didn't exist. But Bobby could see the potential for a suit of technology and browser-based applications working with the internet. So together with a group of friends from Oracle, he left to start Saba. What followed was the creation of a category: Learning Management Systems. The idea was to move training to the internet which led to the shift of content and learning onto the internet. It was a hugely profitable system which evolved into supply chain and talent management. After their first big investment the exit quickly followed, but Bobby wasn't done with Saba. Listen to find out about the first exit, and Bobby's experience of then taking the company public. Bobby Yazdani is Founder and Partner of Cota Capital, a San Francisco-based firm investing in private and public U.S.-based modern enterprise technology companies. Before forming Cota Capital, Bobby spent over 20 years investing in technology companies both individually and through his family office, Signatures Capital, which he founded in 2006. Bobby founded Saba Software in 1997, taking the company public in 2000. Saba was acquired by Cornerstone OnDemand, Inc. in 2020. At Saba, Bobby served as CEO from 1997 to 2002 and from 2003 to 2013. We've already done a couple shows this spring on Oregon's 2023 legislative session, and I would highly recommend you give those episodes a listen if you haven't already. But today we're going to talk about the bill I'm most excited about this year - Senate Bill 530, aka the Natural Climate Solutions billAmid all of the other pressing issues worthy of our time and energy, climate change stands alone as the singular crisis where we have no second chances if our society does not act now. It's like a ticking time bomb, except it's already exploding. But there is still time to defuse the bomb, and some of our most important tools are Oregon's forests and farmlands.I'm so excited to be joined by Teryn Yazdani of Beyond Toxics to talk with me about SB 530, Natural Climate Solutions, and what we can do to help pass this critical legislation. Before we get started, if you want a great primer on all the environmental and climate legislation we're tracking this year, as well as how to engage in the legislative process, check out my conversation with Catherine Thomasson from a couple months ago (click HERE). Shahroos focus is dealing with cases involving the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC). OFAC is an organization within the US Department of Treasury. OFAC enforces economic and trade sanctions that are based on the United States foreign policy. These sanctions are administered following the United States national security objectives against selected countries, terrorists, traffickers, etc. Tony and Shahroo discuss the future of OFAC and how this can impact individuals. Capitalisms: Towards a Global History (Oxford University Press, 2020), edited by Kaveh Yazdani and Dilip M. Menon, aims to decenter work on the history of capitalism by looking at the longue durée from the tenth century; at regions as diverse as Song China, South and South East Asia, Latin America and the Ottoman and Safavid Empires; and exploring the plurality of developments over this extended time and space. The authors argue against conventional accounts that locate the origins of capitalism solely within Europe and within the conjuncture of the industrial revolution. The essays emphasize historical conjunctures, flows of commodities, circulation of knowledge and personnel, the role of mercantile capital and small producers and stress throughout the necessity to think beyond present day national boundaries. The volume contends with clichés of Western exceptionalism to make a set of historical arguments about non-Western and interconnected economic developments across the globe, prior to the era of colonialism. It argues fundamentally that the multiple histories of capitalism can be better understood from a truly global perspective. Dr Kaveh Yazdani is Lecturer (akademischer Rat) in economic history, University of Bielefeld. He teaches economic history at the University of Bielefeld, Germany. His scholarly interests include the 'Great Divergence' debate and the history of South and West Asia between the 17th and 20th centuries. He is the author of India, Modernity and the Great Divergence: Mysore and Gujarat (2017). Professor Dilip M. Menon is Mellon Chair of Indian Studies, Director of the Centre for Indian Studies in Africa, University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. He is the author of Caste, Nationalism and Communism in South India: Malabar, 1900-1948 (1994). Alexandra Ortolja-Baird is Lecturer in Early Modern European History at King's College London. Link to bioRxiv paper: http://biorxiv.org/cgi/content/short/2020.06.06.137158v1?rss=1 Authors: Bryant, C. D., Healy, A. F., Ruan, Q. T., Coehlo, M. A., Lustig, E., Yazdani, N., Luttik, K. P., Tran, T., Swancy, I., Brewin, L. W., Chen, M. M., Szumlinski, K. K. Abstract: Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and opioid-related deaths remain a major public health concern in the United States. Both environmental and genetic factors influence risk for OUD. We previously identified Hnrnph1 as a quantitative trait gene underlying the stimulant, rewarding, and reinforcing properties of methamphetamine. Prior work demonstrates that hnRNP H1, the RNA-binding protein encoded by Hnrnph1, post-transcriptionally regulates Oprm1 (mu opioid receptor gene) - the primary molecular target for the therapeutic and addictive properties of opioids. Because genetic variants can exert pleiotropic effects on behaviors induced by multiple drugs of abuse, in the current study, we tested the hypothesis that Hnrnph1 mutants would show reduced behavioral sensitivity to the mu opioid receptor agonist fentanyl. Hnrnph1 mutants showed reduced sensitivity to fentanyl-induced locomotor activity, along with a female-specific reduction in, and a male-specific induction of, locomotor sensitization following three, daily injections (0.2 mg/kg, i.p.). Hnrnph1 mutants also required a higher dose of fentanyl to exhibit opioid reward as measured via conditioned place preference. Male Hnrnph1 mutants showed reduced fentanyl reinforcement. Hnrnph1 mutants also showed reduced sucrose motivation, suggesting a reward deficit. No genotypic differences were observed in baseline thermal nociception, fentanyl-induced antinociception, physical or negative affective signs of opioid dependence, or in sensorimotor gating. In the context of our prior work, these findings suggest that Hnrnph1 dysfunction exerts a selective role in reducing the addiction liability to drugs of abuse (opioids and psychostimulants), which could provide new biological pathways to improve their therapeutic profiles.

SARA R. YAZDANI Considering collegial exchange, informal peer-to-peer/practice-to-practice learning, and attempts at friendship as a fundamental part of our remit, UKS introduced a new, weekly walk-in-workshop in January 2019, called HOW TO PRACTICE? Starting off the workweek every Monday morning at 10am during exhibition periods, rotating local and international practitioners in the cultural field teach their conspicuous version of this essential question, serving up their tricks and toolboxes, fears and desires, excel sheets, or yoga positions as UKS serves free coffee. For the 27th walk-in-workshop, UKS has invited art historian and critic SARA R. YAZDANI (b. 1984), whose practice intertwines academic research, art criticism, and close dialogue with the art scene. Her fields of research are modern and contemporary art with a particular focus on materiality, connections between parallel ecologies and the relationship between art, media, and technologies. Yazdani holds a PhD in art history from the University of Oslo, and her writing has been published in Artforum International, Mousse Magazine, Kunstkritikk, art & education, Objektiv, as well as in a number of academic journals and anthologies. For her walk-in-workshop at UKS, Yazdani will introduce her ways of working with artists and archives to open up a discussion on contemporary art, materiality, and agency, as well as the challenges of transforming aesthetic experiences and thoughts into words. #27 HOW TO PRACTICE? took place on 25.11.2019 www.uks.no/archive/how-to-practice/ www.uks.no/archive/27-htp-sara-r-yazdani/
