Next, in a promo, Hulk turns down Ted Dibiasi's offer to buy the championship.Iron Mike Sharpe and Ultimate Warrior fight, with the latter slamming the former's face into the turnbuckle. Meanwhile, Bobby and Gorilla argue about gift giving, and plug the free Royal Rumble matchup on USA. Also, Ted Dibiasi's talks about how he spent his Thanksgiving: with money! Hacksaw Jim Duggan performed a football charge to pin Rex King. Subsequently, Danny Houston was counted out of the ring giving Danny Davis the win. As well, Brutus the Barber Beefcake did a promo about his barber's tool, calling out Greg Valentine. Then Brain gives Gorilla a box of stolen junk from Caesar's Palace in Atlantic City! Finally, Strike Force—Rick Martel and Tito Santana—collided with the monstrous Islanders, Haku and Tama. It's a brutal beatdown, eventually all wrestlers fighting outside the ring. The world is far more peculiar than most of us dare to admit. Somewhere between a demolition derby and a wrestling ring, between the crackle of VHS tapes and the shriek of late-night public access, lies a man who has turned mayhem into meaning. On today's episode, we welcome the unparalleled and unfiltered Mad Man Pondo, a professional wrestler and author whose life has been a whirlwind of body slams, topless TV hosts, and late-night green room oddities. With a voice still rough from last night's match, he guides us into a tale of chaos, tenacity, and triumph.Mad Man Pondo—real name Kevin Canady—is not merely a character in the ring. He is a living mosaic of outrageous stories and unshakable spirit.Raised in a reserved household, he found himself drawn to the fever-pitched passion of pro wrestling his grandparents once yelled at on their living room TV. That early spark lit a fire, and he never let it go out. As he says in this episode, “My mom still has the paper I filled out in grade school that said I wanted to be a professional wrestler.” That dream, written in crayon, would become a 30-year odyssey through blood, barbed wire, and blinding spotlights. The journey to the ring was not paved with ease. Pondo describes the brutal, often humiliating, early days of wrestling school—the beatings, the busted lips, the sheer will required to prove he belonged. He tells of how many walked away, unwilling to endure it, while he pressed on. That kind of devotion would become his defining trait. When the legendary Abdullah the Butcher told him he had the talent to wrestle in Japan, Pondo drove through the night, edited his best matches on two old VCRs, and mailed the tape by sunrise. The result? Forty-three trips to the Land of the Rising Sun.But Pondo's life wasn't confined to the ring. Ever curious, ever mischievous, he created “Skull Talk,” a public access show featuring wrestling commentary and, yes, topless women sitting on his lap.Equal parts performance art and rebellion, the show sandwiched between two church broadcasts caused outrage and fandom in equal measure. “One preacher would send me scripture every week,” he laughs. “But I knew he watched every episode.” This was Pondo in his purest form—pushing boundaries, dancing at the edge of decency, and always keeping his audience on their toes. What's perhaps most impressive is his ability to weave these escapades into something strangely noble. Whether talking about riding shotgun in a demolition derby car painted with horror icons or booking outrageous guests for the Jerry Springer Show, there's a heart beneath the madness. His creation of “Girl Fight,” an all-women's wrestling promotion, is a testament to his desire to give others a platform, to share the stage, to pass the torch. He's not just fighting for himself anymore—he's built a ring where others can rise too.And then there's the book, Memoirs of a Mad Man, a wild ride through his memories, filled with stories that make you laugh, cringe, and occasionally tear up. One story he held secret for decades—a deeply personal moment with wrestling legend Junkyard Dog—was finally shared in its pages. “I thought, you know what, let's put this in there,” he says. “It was time.” In telling that story, and many others, he transformed scars into stories and chaos into legacy.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/indie-film-hustle-a-filmmaking-podcast--2664729/support.

It's WON Hall of Fame season and this is the first of our shows examining this year's candidates. We also go over the rest of the ballot discussing things like “should tag team longevity count in dog years,” lack of footage for pre-territory wrestlers, voting for still-active competitors on the ballot and comparing candidates to their baseball equivalents. Be sure to check out Greg on some other wrestling podcasts this HOF season. The more discussions on worthy candidate, the better.

Throughout the Bible, we see many Gentiles who stood with the people of God through turbulent times (they showed the JYD attitude). One man who is an exemplary model of standing with the nation of Israel and fighting for their covenant, is Caleb, the son of Jephunneh. Examining the life of Caleb, and the character that he displays through the scriptures, inspires us to show the same tenacious loyalty to the God of the covenant, and the people of the covenant. We will demonstrate a JYD attitude to honor, carry, and fight to see all the promises made by the Lord to his people Israel. This is the "Junkyard Dog" heart that every Gentile who love Jesus needs to have inside of them.

Acclaimed actor, famed narrative voice and Zen Buddhist priest Peter Coyote joined us in a far reaching dialogue which took in his acting and voice careers as well as his life and his life philosophy and sharp edged political views. We spoke, too, about the content in his latest book, Zen in the Vernacular and his early, preeminent family influences and the shaping influences of the Diggers, as well as his heroin addiction and his radical political beliefs and faith in what he calls radical optimism and the four noble truths of Buddhism. He named those he believes deserve to be called our greatest actors, told all about of his first meeting with Ken Burns and spoke of the inequity of wealth and CEO salaries as well as Paul Weyrich's Christian nationalist film "Bad Faith" and the infamous Lewis Powell memo. He described the U.S. presidential race as democracy versus autocracy and the rise of Trump politically as the product of a sixty year struggle. We concluded with him speaking about his name change to Coyote and defining the Buddhist concept of dharma. Time well spent with a fascinating man of many accomplishments and strong views on politics and our essential connectedness.

This week Hayden and Brendan review all the commons and rares for the upcoming limited set Part the Mistviel; Each card gets a rating from A to D. A is the best of the best, these cards are ones that will be the focal point of your deck in limited and have an impact more so then any other card in a game. You might think of these as “bombs” in FAB context these are auto includes, things that make you want to actively pursue the class if they are class specific - Think Refraction Bolters, Enlightened Strike, Crippling Crush, Heartened Cross strap, Drone of Brutality, Soul Reaping, V of the Vanguard, Awakening. These cards won't necessarily stand alone and win you the game, but could swing a turn, gain massive advantage, help initiate a massive pivot turn, create huge setup situations and/or allow other cards to shine because of them. UPR would be Fyendals fighting spirit, Sash of Sandikai, Red Brothers. OUTSIDERS - Death Touch Red, Infectious Host Red, Lace with Bloodrot, Shake Down, Mechanical Strength, Hydraulic Press, Torque Tuned, Bare Fangs Red, Good Time Chapeau, Prized Galea With the right combination of attack reactions and attack actions Refraction Bolters can be pivotal in a huge double weapon attack turn to push damage and get a dawnblade counter, or even kill the opponent. Without it you need another card to get that go again effect. Soul reaping can for example paired with strong blood debt cards and perhaps a 2nd go again source deliver a massive pivot turn. B's are above average role players, and cards important to an overall strategy for any given hero, or in the form of a generic. These cards could also be super efficient, above rate cards or even cards that can support maximising your A's - examples would be Take Flight red, Warmongers Recital, Gallantry Gold, Sink Below red, Snatch, Scar for a Scar, Goliath Gauntlets, Disable Blue, Salvage Shot Red, Plunder Run red, Turn Timber, Bramble Spark and Ball Lightning Embermaw Cenapai red, Mounting Anger Red, Aether hail blue and red. OUTSIDERS: Red Twin Twisters, Infecting Shot Red, Infect Red, Junkyard Dog, Out Pace, Evo Charging Rods, Wild Ride red and yellow, raw meat, stonewall impasse, concuss red C's are your true role players, they will make up most of your deck and support your overall plan, provide good resources, help defensively or be an OK attack, or support action. These are cards like Ghostly Visit, Smash with Big Tree, Cross the Line, Brandish red, Come to Fight red and blue, Cadaverous Contraband, Sink Below yellow, Throttle red, Scalding Rain red and blue, Smash Instinct Yellow, Debilitate blue, Surging Strike red, Shock Striker,Frost Fang, Earthlore Surge, Brain Freeze Blue, Dust Runner outlaw, Miragi. OUTSIDERS: Sedate Red, Surging Strike Red, Skybound Shot red, or spire sniping blue, Dumpster Dive, hadron collider, Test of Strength, Agile Engagment, Wage Vigor yellow D's are the cards you want to play as little of as possible, pure filler with no real upside, these cards don't do much and are often only in the deck to make up numbers as resources or a card to defend with. Examples are Seek Horizon Yellow, Frontline scout, Memorial Ground, Outmuscle Yellow, Nimble strike blue, Wounded Blow yellow, Sharpen Steel blue, Head Jab yellow, Emerging Power yellow, Bloodspill Invocation blue, Rejuvenate Blue, Chill to the Bone Yellow Yellow brain freeze, yellow sand cover, rebellious rush, liquefy at the minus end OUTSIDERS: Bleed out yellow, Blue brush off, Spinning wheel kick blue, Cognition field yellow, Zero to Fiffty, Evo Buzz Hive, Adrenaline rush, bare fangs blue, yellow performance bonus Set up grade - we will also give some cards set up grades, so a grade but contingent only on getting the right supporting build to see this card realise its full potential in a limited deck. Examples would be Overload red, Rise above, Glisten to an extent, Tear Limb from Limb, Moon Wish & Sun Kiss in Limited Kano, Maximum Velocity, Hurricane Technique, Tome of Fyendal, Channel Thundersteppe, Embolden Sigil permafrost, Phoenix Form, OUTSIDERS: Bonds of Ancestry, Amplifying Arrow, Toxicity (to an extent), Smash and Grab, Overload Script, Rising speed, trade in red Sideboard Grade - Pure SB card with a grade, Blinding Beam, Eclipse Existence, Ray of Hope, Talisman of Dousing, Cold Wave Blue, Sow Tomorrow Red and Rites of Replenishment, Sigil of Protection, Singe OUTSIDERS: yellow infectious host, yellow peace of mind, Autosave Script, bad NAA maybe from HVY Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/ArsenalPass Review Us: https://ratethispodcast.com/arsenalpass Email: arsenalpassfab@gmail.com Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClhUUppHaVDBUOJHXL-a0EQ Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/6H2Y8uTHZaVgxpjhnTBn6n?si=R6Uya7paT_e2HOr4n2KC-w Twitter: @BrendanAPG (Brendan) & @Fyen_Dale (Hayden) Hosts: Brendan Patrick and Hayden Dale
