This episode is a rebroadcast. Dusty has handpicked episodes from the archive to air while she and Ash are on their annual summer break. New episodes resume in September! Today, Cam and Shelly discuss a guiding philosophy that Shelly lives by in her own life and uses frequently with clients: Let It Be Easy. We discuss how we as adults with ADHD often get in our own way, over-complicating problems or approaching them from the wrong angle. We then give examples of how we and our clients have used this philosophy to find the "let it be easy" approach and how listeners can apply this philosophy to their own challenges. The New Visibility Strategy That Doesn't Require Hustling, Performing, Or Pretending Let's be honest—social media can feel like a never-ending hamster wheel, and trying to “beat the algorithm” is exhausting. That's why I wanted to have a real conversation about an entirely different visibility strategy—one that actually works and doesn't rely on social media at all. In this episode, I sit down with my dear friend and media expert Susie Moore to talk about how to land incredible media opportunities that grow your audience and your email list—without needing a PR agency or a massive following. We talk about how mainstream media has shifted, why your real-life story is more than enough, and how visibility is the credibility builder most of us are overlooking. This conversation lit me up because Susie has built a multi-million dollar business mostly on evergreen content—90% of it!—and mainstream media has been a huge driver of her success. She shares her favorite tips for pitching yourself, building trust with cold audiences, and using the media to create momentum that actually compounds. HERE ARE THE 3 KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THIS EPISODE: 1️⃣ You Don't Need A PR Agency — You Just Need A Message And A Little BoldnessSusie shares the exact steps to land your first media feature using what you already know—and it's simpler than you think. 2️⃣ Media Features Instantly Build Trust And Can Grow Your Email List FastYou can absolutely use media opportunities to grow your list—especially when you include your lead magnet in the right way. This visibility brings people straight to your world. 3️⃣ Your Story Is Your Superpower—Even If You're Still In The Messy MiddleThe media loves real. Susie explains how sharing personal, even vulnerable, stories (that aren't wrapped in a neat little bow) can create the deepest connections and open up massive opportunities. having what you want usually means life gets easier. And for so many people, that's the real problem. Not the money. Not the dream clients. Not the freedom. The ease. Because ease can feel like a threat. You've spent years hustling, grinding, proving your worth through effort. The idea that things could simply flow?

In this episode, I dive into the powerful concept of allowing life to be easy, encapsulated in the mantra, "Let It Be Easy." The essence of this discussion stems from a realization that many of us, despite our intrinsic understanding that ease exists, become tangled in complexities and self-imposed pressures that obscure this truth. This conversation serves as a gentle reminder of the simplicity we can invite into our lives, particularly during challenging times such as wedding planning. Ultimately, I invite everyone to ask themselves how they can let life be easier, whether that means leveraging technology or tapping into community resources. There is significant empowerment in rethinking the traditional narratives of hard work; embracing ease is not just a luxury but a necessity for a more balanced and joyful life. Send us a textIn this episode, we're diving into why not everything in life needs to be a struggle. Sometimes, we bury ourselves in complexity without even realizing there's an easier way. Elevated stress can narrow our focus, hijacking our brain's capacity for rational problem-solving. It's important to recognize that we don't need to make things harder than they have to be—life is challenging enough already. We'll also talk about the importance of picking one thing to prioritize. You can't do it all at once, and trying to follow every wellness trend or daily routine can overwhelm us instead of helping. There's so much information out there—some good, some not so good—and the pressure to keep up can be immense.Instead of trying to multitask or jump between different practices, it's more effective to pick one tool to work on and practice consistently. Building habits takes time and intention, and it's all about finding what works for you. Just because something works for others, or is even scientifically proven, doesn't mean it's the best fit for your needs. It's okay to put down what doesn't resonate.Join me as we explore letting go of unnecessary struggle, choosing simplicity, and finding the one thing that brings ease to your daily life. Let's focus on what works for you and build your personal toolkit from there.Takeaways:Not everything has to be a struggle—let it be easy.Elevated stress can limit our ability to see options clearly.Pick one practice to focus on instead of trying to do it all.Wellness is about what works for you, not following every trend.Building habits takes practice, consistency, and time.Remember: You don't need to do everything at once. “People—even if they don't tell you—they do really want the real you,” says Susie Moore, world-renowned life coach, advice columnist and author of “Let It Be Easy,” a book—along with the rest of Susie's teachings—which have changed host Corinne Morahan's life. Who better, then, to be the first guest on the Get Organized for Good podcast? Today, Susie will discuss the power of being our most authentic selves and of staying true to what we want, both in our personal and our professional lives. She'll show us how to harness the power of positive thinking by taking control of our “second thoughts” and why hard work may not actually be the key to success. Growing up in difficult circumstances, Susie learned early on the ability of each individual to claim his or her own power, to take responsibility for the present and to imagine a new future. Too many people, she says, form an allegiance to their suffering, and succumb to the idea that life is inevitably hard. She'll explain how to overcome perfectionism and how to put yourself first so that you're able to give generously and from a place of integrity. Tune in to today's episode as Susie teaches you how to regret-proof your life and let you in on what she calls the secret to the Universe. Quotes “In life, we really are powerful. And I think that we can be attached to the past, we can think that it means a lot, we can find excuses for why we don't get what we want or we can just completely flip it. We can look at what's possible, and find mentors no matter what, and be responsible for the present moment, which is where all of our power is.” (3:52 | Susie Moore) “I had this allegiance to my own suffering. Anyone who has stress, anxiety in their lives, low moods, you know we don't always think we can get out of it, we think, ‘Oh, well. This is just life and life isn't fair and life is suffering. I don't believe that. I know the core purpose of our life is to enjoy it.” (6:25 | Susie Moore) “I don't put pressure on myself to be perfect. I don't think I owe anything to anyone either. I think that's a big cause of stress, thinking we have to be this for that person and we have to show up here or there.” (16:27 | Susie Moore) “When you put yourself first and you have really great boundaries, you are your most generous because you have so much to offer.” (16:50 | Susie Moore) “Working on the right thing is more important than working hard.” (25:42 | Susie Moore) Links Susie Moore is a world-renowned life coach, author, and host of the top-rated Apple podcast, Let It Be Easy. For the past couple episodes we've been looking at play and leadership what also comes to mind for me is that leadership needs to be easy And it just so happens that Susie Moore has a book on this very topic. So for our first book of 2024 we'll be covering Let It Be Easy…almost sounds like a prayer, no? A little about Susie Moore – she's a life coach and advice columnist for some of the world's biggest media outlets and she has a podcast. She was a sales director and advisor for Silicon Valley and NY start-ups. She is a native of England, and now lives and works in Miami. In her introduction Susie says “…the core purpose of your life is to enjoy it and one of the first distinctions she brings up is our ability to overcomplicate things – anyone else ever do that? Here are 3 takeaways from today's episode: 1. Asking ourselves, How Can I make this easier for myself?, can truly help us stop stressing and start living! 2. In addition to Susie's book, we can look at starting habits and looking at workflow to live easier. 3. We are the ones who get in our own way – whether it's perfectionism, taking things personally, or holding a resentment – they keep us playing smaller and living a way more complicated life. Let's choose easier when we can. "Let it be easy" came through in a meditation for me the other day. As a recovering perfectionist, over-achiever high-achiever.... this is not always the easiest phrase. But I've been leaning into it and after a day with nothing specifically "productive" scheduled I watched the power of this phrase unfold.... and felt compelled to get on the mic and share the story with you. Why do we like to hear things more than once? Can you imagine if we heard a great song, enjoyed it – but never listened to it again? We love it more the second time we listen and so long as it doesn’t get completely overplayed, we enjoy it every time it comes on – and intentionally […]
“Nothing worth having comes easily,” is a phrase we've all heard many times before, but does it always ring true? In this episode, I'm exploring an idea that came to me about letting things be easy. We all have natural gifts and strengths, brilliant ideas that come to us in the shower, and even great opportunities that seem to fall into our laps. I think it's time we really lean into these and let ourselves embrace what's easy. Some key takeaways from this episode include: We're raised to believe that the only way to get what you want is to work really hard. While that's important, it's also possible that leaning into the ease of your natural gifts and strengths can also get you what you want in life. When we think everything needs to be difficult to yield results, we tend to overthink our ideas and get into a cycle of analysis paralysis. Commitment and dedication are the new “working hard.” Be committed to the things that feel fun to you, the brilliant ideas that come to you, and your natural skills.
