We are starting a new series in the Gospel of Mark. Now you may not be able to attend and watch all of the services but I encourage you to watch as many as you can because it'll be relevant. So if you have your Bibles and you should, please turn to the Gospel of Mark starting with Chapter 1. Now while you're turning there, let me say that it is long-held belief that John Mark wrote Mark. There's nothing internally that says that other than there's a discussion when Jesus is arrested that there was one of the minor followers who escaped and they grabbed his coat and clothing and he ran out and was somewhat naked. Some people think that that was that person, but may or may not have been. The early church fathers discussed and they believe it was Mark who wrote the Gospel. Others think that Mark wrote it either based on his discussion with Peter or as Peter had been martyred that he wanted to make sure that what Peter had experienced in the teaching and life of the Lord that he wrote that down. Sermon Notes Mark 1:1 – 3 The prophesy of one who will prepare Mesiah's way Mark 1:4 – 8 John the Baptizer is that preparing one & testifies about the Coming One Mark 1:9 – 11 Heaven testifies of Jesus as the Son of God Mark 1:12 & 13 Jesus impelled to go into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan Mark 1:14 & 15 Jesus preaches the gospel Mark 1:16 – 20 Jesus calls His initial disciples Mark 1:21 & 22 Jesus' amazing teaching Mark 1:23 – 27 Jesus does not allow unclean spirits to speak of Him Mark 1:28 The news of Jesus spreads immediately everywhere

MESSAGE SUMMARY: In this powerful reflection on love and divine purpose, we're invited to explore the profound journey of Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus. As we delve into this narrative, we're reminded of the transformative power of faith and obedience. Joseph's story, rooted in the Gospel of Matthew, showcases how God's plans often unfold in unexpected ways, challenging our preconceptions and inviting us into a deeper trust. The transcription beautifully illustrates the internal struggle Joseph faced, balancing his love for Mary with his sense of duty and the overwhelming responsibility of raising the Son of God. This narrative encourages us to consider how we respond to God's surprising interventions in our own lives. Are we ready, like Joseph, to embrace a calling that may seem daunting or even impossible? As we reflect on Joseph's journey, we're prompted to examine our own willingness to step into roles that God has prepared for us, even when they seem beyond our capabilities. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, God is working His will in my life. (Philippians 2:13). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. God's Timing Is Perfect, Even When It Seems Delayed MESSAGE SUMMARY: In this powerful Advent message, we're invited to explore the transformative story of Zechariah, an aging priest whose encounter with an angel shatters his hopelessness. This narrative from Luke's Gospel reminds us that God's timing is perfect, even when it seems delayed. As we reflect on Zechariah's initial disbelief, we're challenged to examine our own faith in the face of seemingly impossible promises. The angel's proclamation about John the Baptist - that 'none born of women' would be like him - emphasizes the extraordinary nature of God's plan. This story encourages us to remain faithful in our spiritual routines, for it's often in these moments of ordinary service that God breaks through with extraordinary revelations. As we journey through Advent, let's open our hearts to unexpected messages of hope, trusting that God can breathe new life into our weariest moments. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that, because I am in Jesus Christ, God is working His will in my life. (Philippians 2:13). “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”. (Philippians 4:14). SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): 1) Luke 1:5-25 - This passage tells the story of Zechariah in the temple, his encounter with the angel, and the prophecy about John the Baptist; 2) Luke 1:8-9 - Specifically mentions Zechariah being chosen by lot to enter the temple and burn incense; 3) Luke 1:11-13 - Describes the angel appearing to Zechariah and announcing that his prayer has been heard; 4) Luke 1:18-20 - Zechariah's disbelief and subsequent muteness; 5) Matthew 11:11 or Luke 7:28 - The Devotional repeatedly mentions "None born of women like him," which alludes to Jesus' words about John the Baptist: "Among those born of women there is no one greater than John."; and 6) Malachi 3:1 and 4:5-6 - These Old Testament prophecies about a messenger preparing the way for the Lord are fulfilled in John the Baptist, as mentioned in the New Testament. Since Creation, Jesus Has Come; and He Will Come Again! MESSAGE SUMMARY: As we enter the Advent season, we're invited to embark on a profound spiritual journey that connects us to the very foundations of our faith. This series, 'Firstborn,' takes us back to the dawn of creation, reminding us of God's masterful handiwork and His ultimate plan for humanity. We're challenged to confront the reality of human sinfulness and our deep need for a Savior. This narrative arc from creation to redemption beautifully sets the stage for the coming of Christ, both in His first advent as a humble baby and His promised return as the triumphant judge. As we reflect on these themes, we're called to examine our own lives and prepare our hearts for Christ's coming. How can we, in this season, align ourselves more closely with God's grand design for humanity? The bible chapter Acts 2 records the most important moment in history to date. The events from Creation through the Gospels all point to this moment in time when salvation is offered to all mankind. This message explains how the significant events in history connect to Acts 2. The Creation of the earth displays how YHVH is a God of order. The Torah outlines a culture. It is not just a law but a comprehensive way of life. The prophets and history offer remarkably accurate prophesies. They also show us how to appreciate the structure of biblical literature. The Gospels show us what God expects of us through His Son. The remarkable culmination of prophecies and the emotional pain the Mesiah experienced illustrate YHVH's plan for mankind. From Acts 2, we see the Ruach ha Kodesh (Holy Spirit) given directly to the common man. This enabled the apostles to communicate to people in their native languages so there is no confusion about the The Most Important Moment in History. The people who participated in the Messiah's murder are humbled. They publicly profess their sins and repent. They, and we, learn the recipe for salvation: repent of your sins, accept Yeshua as the Messiah, and be baptized for forgiveness. Then Peter explains this message is for all whom God will call to Himself, which is why it matters to us. Please enjoy this video on The Most Important Moment in History as we explain an overview of God's plan of salvation for mankind. This message and it's pdf notes are available at https://firstcenturychristianity.net/the-most-important-moment-in-history/
It's Christmas Eve at Burnt Hickory, and a perfect time to discover true hope because our Savior Jesus is born unto us. He is Emmanuel, Christ with us. Not just a baby in a manger so long ago, but the true Mesiah sent by the Father for us today. We see in Galatians that in the fullness of time, God sent His son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. He came to be punished and die on our behalf as payment for our sins. He lived the life we should be living, and died the death that we deserve. He came to be buried in a tomb, but praise God, not to stay there forever. He is risen again, defeating death, and Jesus paid our price for sin for all eternity. If we believe in Him as savior, we have eternal life with Him! What good news we have in celebrating Christmas, not just a season of giving and receiving, or being near family, or singing carols and sharing merriment. But in welcoming the gift of Christ into our hearts as our Savior and being brought near to our Heavenly Father, singing of His great and marvelous love for us, and then making Him known to everyone we encounter because He gives us hope. Merry Christmas! This time of year can be incredibly tough for many, with the loss of family or from the pain of trauma remembered or currently present in our lives. It may seem hopeless to celebrate Christmas in the midst of hurt, and maybe you lack joy and peace this season. We want you to know, we are here for you. If you have questions, need prayer, or feel overwhelmed with life, then please reach out today. We would love to hear from you, take time to answer any questions you have and pray with you no matter what you are facing.
I Corinthians - Walk after the Spirit, Chapter 5 and 6
Song of Songs1:3 Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee. Deep is this idea of Statute and this verse reveals so much of that as the word Statute in Hebrew is a Chet and A Quaf. The word savor in Hebrew ends with the Chet and the word Poured Forth ends with the Quaf. The deeper understanding that Christ is Greek for Mesiah and both mean the Anointed one. Here Solomon is introducing the main Character - THE ANOINTED ONE. Then sharing the connection of name and anointing. The word Name in Hebrew is Shem - Shin, Mem. This word ointment is Shin,Mem,Nun. The root is name and add the nun or the idea of the lamp of faith. Think about the faith you have in even your dog, by name. Such is to a sense the anointing and your name gives off a smell I assure you good or bad depending on the nose that tastes it. Yes this verse is a Statute.

George Frideric (or Frederick) Handel baptised Georg Friederich Händel,; 23 February 1685 – 14 April 1759 was a German-born Baroque composer becoming well known for his operas, oratorios, anthems, concerti grossi, and organ concertos. Handel received his training in Halle and worked as a composer in Hamburg and Italy before settling in London in 1712, where he spent the bulk of his career and became a naturalised British subject in 1727. He was strongly influenced both by the middle-German polyphonic choral tradition and by composers of the Italian Baroque.Handel started three commercial opera companies to supply the English nobility with Italian opera. In 1737 he had a physical breakdown, changed direction creatively, and addressed the middle class and made a transition to English choral works. After his success with Messiah (1742), he never composed an Italian opera again. His orchestral Water Music and Music for the Royal Fireworks remain steadfastly popular.[6] Almost blind, he died in 1759, a respected and rich man, and was given a state funeral at Westminster Abbey.Handel composed more than forty opera serias over a period of more than thirty years. Since the late 1960s, interest in Handel's music has grown. The musicologist Winton Dean wrote that "Handel was not only a great composer; he was a dramatic genius of the first order." His music exerted a strong influence on Classical-era composers, including Mozart and Beethoven.

A do toho vzniká nové album Skyline. We discuss Nephi's vision of the Mesiah and the generations of his people as they experience peace, war, and dissensions. Satan is the great magician as he continually seeks to deceive, trick and "carefully" lead us away from the Savior. Casualness in the following the Savior is an easy trap to full into. We think we are doing fine by not doing anything bad, but are we actively striving to follow the Savior?
The Hebrew people looked forward to the promised Messiah- the Anointed One of God. The prophecies foretelling His coming were precisely fulfilled in the first coming of the one we call Jesus. His return has also been foretold. The signs of His return have also been foretold. God's people must remain watchful, the signs are being fulfilled. He IS coming. But instead of as a humble, dependent child, He will return as the Mighty Messiah to judge and rule to world. Are you ready for His coming- Listen - learn-
#ServeToLead #InjilMatius

As a Christian the topic of hell has been thought of as being settled. If you don’t accept the Mesiah while you are alive what awaits you is an everlasting lake of fire, conscious torment for all of eternity while those who did accept the gift, will experience eternal peace. Well, what if our current idea of has been wrong. Here on FTR we question everything and Hell is a topic we have been wanting to podcast about for some time now. On today’s episode we have Chris Date contributor and Host of the Rethinking Hell podcast and blog. Chris has been studying the topic of Hell for years and has a fascinating view and idea on what Hell is. Through the use of exegesis and reason, Chris guides us through this topic and helps us to rethink Hell. Show Notes: http://rethinkinghell.com/
